Living in Sydney Australia growing up in the 70's we were starved of quality Blues we had our own scene but nowhere as good as guys like Pinetop or James Cotton etc But I still found my way to the Blues now in 2024 joust in .y 60's I'm still loving still playing still listening to the Blues I feel as if it runs through my veins....
Even when Pine Top was 97 he was still contributing to our world. I pray to God that I may also contribute. I'll be 70 in two weeks and I play music, mostly guitars every day of my life. Anniston Alabama..he pulled up in a 1981 El Camino - got out and had that long black jacket that had Embroidering: BLUES INC. 20 minutes later we all were recording he was 10 feet from me... and if you don’t that I was intimidated, you are a dam liar. As I stated, I will never forget him - tremendous individual.

My brother was a musician in Austin Texas and playing out one night he spots Pinetop in the front row with a lady my brother said he thought was an aid/friend....my brother put the spotlight on him and asked if he would like to come up onstage and play with the "boys"..He did and it was one of the best nights of my brother's life as he said. My brother passed 2 years ago . RIP Donnie. Miss and Love you ! He was in a band called Rebel Kind in Austin years ago.
