Hey, some teenager here that isn´t American. The C8 prices in my country are insane. Used ones go 80k or above, new ones can cost up to 130k, still not as crazy as Porsches tho, some Turbo S´ can reach 300k, lets not even talk about those half million gt3rs. Im looking forward to getting a C5 or C4 that are still on the 15k range which at the moment my family and I can´t afford (we´re middle class btw) or maybe some random shitbox 😭. I´m sorry for ranting so much I´m just frustrated cause I love cars but can´t even afford a bike with these insane prices and wages stay the same.
Wait a few years and teh proces for the c6 will drop. We are still in the used car price hike rate when everyone was waiting for the new car chips and supply chain backlog from "Covid"
The pandemic f'd everything up for the cost, and supply chain. remember when it launched and everyone thought it would start and $100k and a base model was only $60k? Now you can't even get a Camero.
Smoove, thank you for the comment. I waited 2 years for my Bronco... that supply chain jacked all the prices up, even on the used cars. Now is the time to buy a used car, when most are trying to get a new car... my C8 was $1K below MSRP at a local San ANtonio dealership. Found the deal on Cargurus. Its my number one site to search for a new or new to me vehicle. Not endorsed. But a good site.
It’s not the most expensive car I own but it has the highest payment since i got it in 2023 my interest was 12% 10K down and $1425 for 72 months plus $500 monthly ins
12% APR is ridiculous. Once the interest rates come down, I would refi. I didnt even know refi was an option until a friend of mine did it on his F150.. Get that Credit Score fixed between now and when the rates come down!
I posed the question on the Corvette forum also... some people think its over the top money and others think its just right. Between my wife and I we earn nearly $300k and I still won’t buy one simply because of GMs pricing and how much it’s increased. I’m not buying into their scam and dealer markups. You don’t get rich by investing in depreciating assets. These cars are already showing massive depreciation. I feel bad for those who bought the $60 versions for $90k+. Just plain stupid.
Its a messy world. We were ordering a C8 from a dealer a few years ago and insisted on no extra markup. They agreed until it was time to sign the order, then they added $15000. I walked away from that deal and posted on Corvette Forum about that dealership. Hope they lost more than one customer. On the other hand, We ordered a 2022 Bronco (videos coming) and told the dealership the same thing. They agreed. I waited the 2yrs, Got the Bronco at MSRP and I post in teh Bronco Forum how great the dealership was and I hope they get more customers. The Corvettes will depreciate as most vehicles do, but they are a BLAST to drive. 6000 mile trip coming up in May that may change my mind..lol....

Part of the reason I started a UA-cam channel, hope for this to be a viable side job to lower my bills and since its a business, I can reduce my overall taxes with some of the items I purchase. More expensive the car, the worse it gets. Z06 has a $2600 gas guzzler tax as well. Our registration in Texas is about $75-$100 per year. Hawaii was about $400 per year. How much is Ca registration?

I hear the stories from a few friends I met while serving. If it wasn't for the military retirement and VA checks, they would be hard pressed to live there. I just saw your YT page. The real corvette died at C8 the last true heritage corvette was 2014 C7 that was the last year of the canvas top convertible
