You're a tinkerer and a doer, I have all the faith in the world you will find a way around the current machinery problems, at least until the new lathe arrives. The very best mark of a really good Dad is, even though he is in the very middle of explaining all of his problems, he has time to stop and enjoy watching his daughter walking through a puddle. I dont' know what you mean by premieres, but I don't watch youtube live videos. I like to watch on my own time and usually only videos that are about 30 minutes or less. I rarely go back to watch a previously posted live because they are usually pretty long. I'm glad you are making the best decision for you and not following what others are doing.

What’s a premiere? I started turning In September and found your posts inspiring, helpful, and fun to watch. Your wife is cute, and supports what you do. Keep her and your little one in your posts. Find funky wood. Do pours. Make really beautiful, inspirational turnings. Keep the posts within a reasonable time. Always remind your viewer to “like”, “subscribe”, etc. always. And do is in the beginning and end of your post. You have a great talent.
Do what you do best: put out great content and pieces. I myself have never watched a premier, guess I think of it as someone trying to talk when I'm watching something; that's a no-go for me. I always watch your videos after tho. Keep at it.

Your work and videos are great. Not sure how a premier can hurt since the video remains up after that original showing. Only difference is that the maker is usually there for that first showing and there is a live chat. But you have dug into it and found that for some it does. All that to say this: Don’t let YT and what Goes on within that virtual world drive your mental health. You’ve got too much going on for that.

Now Premieres, I watch a lot of UA-cam and find myself passing on the premieres, not real sure on why, maybe all the chats are to busy, and if they’re a long premiere, I find myself clicking off and moving on, not sure. I like to watch things on my own schedule. I don’t want to be tied to a specific time for watching. I feel that some of your latest work has been really fantastic and shows lots of growth in your skills. Do what works for you. You will continue to have my viewership.
Todd you are on the right track in what you do the most successful people are the ones that do what feels right not what the masses do, you have great content and talent not to mention an awesome cheering section. Interesting Todd. I tend to not watch live streams because most of the time is taken by welcoming viewers. I would rather see what people are creating as opposed to listening to all the welcomes.
You have a great talent. I don't watch every video as I'm not always interested in everything. I see several folks do the premier thing. I look at me subscription tab if it says premier I skip it because normally it's a few days away and I figure I'll get to it later. It isn't a judgment of your videos. They are very good. I do know a few folks that upload at a specific time and day. I usually watch them within hours because I can depend on them being there.
Duka, I can understand your frustration. You do absolutely AMAZING work. Your water challenge piece blew me away! I may just be one person but I started following you because of the ytccc. Keep the faith! If you build it, they will come! One thing that you do, that most others don't, is included your wife and family. I, personally, LOVE that! Maybe try not to focus as much on the numbers? But focus on those in your community that truly support you. Like I said in a previous comment, the wood working community is so wonderful. Perhaps you could get together with some of the others and put together an event like they do in England? Makers Central? My tutor told me that, in order to be a good teacher, you need a thorough knowledge of the subject and the ability to impart that knowledge but I added another required skill: the willingness to impart that knowledge. #1 Stop the negativity. Reduction in viewing is directly related to COVID. People are going out and not staying in… I suspect that a lot of channels are experiencing the same thing. Hang in there. You’re awesome and have a marketable shick 😄

Hey Todd, I just wanted to say that I think some of your work with #ytccc2021 has been top class. I can't comment if it's your best work as I'm a fairly new subscriber (because of the challenge really) but what I've seen I believe you. My channel is tiny compared to yours but one observation I would make is that the majority of people in the premiere comment in the chat but don't then comment on the video itself, so they have less comments compared to a non-premiere. Another commentor say it's not always best to follow the bandwagon and I sort of agree, I'm more of a Field of Dreams sort of guy, "build it and they will come". Cheers, Dave

Hey, Tod the Duke, right now the world is licking it's wounds with this Covid thing, the vaccine roll out and then over there you have had big depressing political changes. So what I am getting is that there are so many life affecting changes happening, maybe people are slow to take in new changes. Just be the winner you have been, go to what has/was working for you, your channel has been inspiring in every sense, stay with the knitting that worked. I am guilty of the crime of not watching live or drawn out channels during this crazy drawn out pandemic. You have been one of the motivators in my little turning world, so keep at it and don't let changes at this time mess with your head, you have a serious flock of followers in a world gone crazy. Take care and keep them churning, turning and coming you are good at what you do it entertains and we learn from it.

One man's opinion. I love your videos and projects. That's why I'm a subscriber. But often the length of a video determines if I watch. If it's more than 10 or 15 minutes I might just pass on it.
Ebb & flow don't worry about the numbers stop looking at the numbers trust in God & the abilty he gave you. Keep your head up you are in lul this wont be the last one. The numbers will fuck with you if you let them. A watch pot never boils but it will drive you insane if you let it.

Hey, Tod the Duke, right now the world is licking it's wounds with this Covid thing, the vaccine roll out and then over there you have had big depressing political changes. So what I am getting is that there are so many life affecting changes happening, maybe people are slow to take in new changes. Just be the winner you have been, go to what has/was working for you, your channel has been inspiring in every sense, stay with the knitting that worked. I am guilty of the crime of not watching live or drawn out channels during this crazy drawn out pandemic. You have been one of the motivators in my little turning world, so keep at it and don't let changes at this time mess with your head, you have a serious flock of followers in a world gone crazy. Take care and keep them churning, turning and coming you are good at what you do it entertains and we learn from it.

Just glad we’re around the iceberg and learned that lesson, but by releasing as premiers, it totally changed or search and browse reach, as well as restricting notifications and recommendations. No worries, I’ll keep on grinding and things should straighten out 😊

One man's opinion. I love your videos and projects. That's why I'm a subscriber. But often the length of a video determines if I watch. If it's more than 10 or 15 minutes I might just pass on it.
Ebb & flow don't worry about the numbers stop looking at the numbers trust in God & the abilty he gave you. Keep your head up you are in lul this wont be the last one. The numbers will fuck with you if you let them. A watch pot never boils but it will drive you insane if you let it.
