So, I did a quick hands on review of this tabletop tripod!
I also decided I'm going to give them away! I'm not sure how I'll do the giveaway just yet, so you'll have to stay tuned for that, but you can watch the video for my review of the Vanguard VS-82 Tabletop Tripod!

This looks like just the sort of thing target shooters could use to hold their spotting scopes. I tried it with a full size tripod but couldn't get it low enough to the ground for prone shooting without the legs getting in the way of everything - terribly awkward. Conversely, the tiny tripod that came with the scope just wasn't good enough on uneven ground - always kept falling over, and even on a smooth bench I'd lose the sight picture every time I changed power or adjusted focus, so the spotting scope tends to stay home in favour of the scope on the actual rifle (which is not as high magnification and doesn't do as good a job at spotting one's shots).
It also looks very compact for travel, and my K-5 with a prime lens on it doesn't look like it would stress this too much. I think the real issue is not necessarily weight, but moment - a properly balanced lens/camera combination is going to force this thing straight downward and stabilise it, whereas a lens that's very forward-heavy might put a bending moment on the mount structure which would lead to stress fracture of the material in the long term, not to mention the risk of tipping everything over.
Speaking of weight, how much does the actual tripod weigh?

Wanted to say thank you to Spyros and the community for all the help that they give and I hope that the Tripod is useful to whomever get's one!
    Quick note:
The purpose of the tripod was to do Some Macro and Small Product Photography without scratching the table, but I ended up making my own due to the weight of my camera.
PS: Sometimes you end up purchasing a few things in this field before you find the right thing and other times you just have to build it yourself.

I've got 4 tripods. I do a lot of shooting in the mountains and none of the tripods come with me as a matter of course. They are just too awkward to hump all over god's creation. That little one is of no use to me but who and the type of person if might be very helpful is someone who makes video on the cellphone like the mua you had on a video or two ago. That height would lift up the lense of the smartphone to just below the face level at 10 or so inches above a table top.
