Which one do you think? Natural light or artificial light?
Both! Natural light for the flower, artificial light for the oranges!
The artificial light created good sharpness of the colors and textures on your photo. I prefer it rathen than the natural light. Thanks for your video, Amrita ♡ Neni "humbleframes" is one of your new subscibers for today :D
That analysis is so on point, Neni! Thanks so much for the kind words ❤️
I prefer artificial light here! :O
@@calokid It does look beautiful! ☺
Aww I felt that when you said the peel broke while you were working on it. It still looks great regardless! Also, love that your dress complements your photo composition! Loved this! Can't wait to see more videos!
Right? It was so sad but then I thought, might as well make good use of it. Lol 😂 awww thanks for the sweet words. I think you are the only one who picked up on the dress 😜
As others have noted, both versions look great, so it's mostly a matter of personal preference. I would note however, that if you wanted to, you could get the artificial light version to look almost identical to the natural light version. It wouldn't be easy to get the natural light version to look like the artificial light version though, without adding some sort of directional light source.
Thanks so much for your kind words, Gordon. What a great point! Yes, that makes a lot of sense especially if you use a mirror with the artificial light, it can look very similar to a sunlit image and you can also soften it with a scrim.
This video just helped to complete my gig about side and artificial lighting, thank you.
I am so glad it was helpful. Thank you and good luck!
Your backgrounds are always so professional & beautiful! These videos are so fun to watch :) This is so peaceful & YOU ARE SO TALENTED
Awww thanks so much, Sophia! ☺️I am so happy you enjoyed it!
I came across your page in when looking at gardening videos and fell upon this incredible photo shoot!
Absolutely STUNNING work you do!!
My son is a professional watercolor artist and I’m going to have him paint your incredible still life image (which I can share w you, if you’d like!)
Thank you for sharing your gifts w us. I’m completely inspired !🍊🪻❤
Hi Pamela, thanks for your kind words.
I like elements from both natural and artificial light! Great Video Amrita
Thanks so much, Cameron. Glad you enjoyed it 😁
I'm a big natural light fan, but the artificial light wins in this competition. :)
Hahaha thanks Jonathan.
Amazing… natural light for the win!!! 🏅
Hahaha thanks! It sure does look like it’s everyone’s favorite 😁
I think I like the natural light. It has less harsh shadows. Your composition is absolutely gorgeous, by the way.
Thanks so much for your kind and sweet words. Natural light just makes such gorgeous images, right?
Both have great points, however I I like the artificial light it shows more detail! Now thank you for sharing!
I agree
WOAH SO INFORMATIVE! I've been only using natural light cuz I didn't exactly know how to use artificial light but this was helpful!
Awww thanks Alison. I adore shooting in Natural light but recently I am having a lot of fun playing with artificial light.
Both are awesome 😍😍, thanks to share your precious experience ✨
Awww Parisa, thank you for your kind words.
Beautiful illustrations…Congratulations!
I like Natural light..but Artificial is equally good…depend on your exigency in requirement! Well done.
So true! It’s a matter of what is available to you and one of the reasons why I wanted to create this video. Thanks so much for the kind words 😁
I wanted to say the natural light, however I really think I prefer the artificial. Really beautiful composition.. here from slow growth 😀
Awwww thank you! And yayyy for slow growth fam 🙌🏽☺️
Both look great!!
Aww thanks so much for your kind words, Paul!
I’m new here. Your work is beautiful. May I ask what you are using as the backdrop?
Both were good but the artificial light photo looks excellent 👌
Thanks so much for the kind words. I love it too
Great video, thank you
Thanks so much, Noelle
They were both good but I like the natural light better.
Thanks so much, Leo. I appreciate your kind words
I Like both photos. But, on the artificial light photo, I would have shot another photo with some sort of bounce light/reflector to add just a touch of light to the deep shadowed areas. Ahh, the progressive process of a studio shoot. Nice work!
Thanks so much for your kind words, Thomas. It is always a process, right? Love learning something new everyday and trying new techniques out.
I think natural light, by a small margin is my favourite. I love the contrast in both images with the darker backgrounds and bright flowers and fruit.
Also aren't the two smaller fruits Citrus reticulata? That's a Mandarin :)
Thanks so much for the kind words, Christiån. It definitely looks like a favorite with everyone.
You are absolutely right, it is a mandarin more specifically, Satsuma Mandarin 😁
You did a decent job with both however, you could learn a few things about using artificial light. If you put a white bounce card on the opposite side of the subject, the reflected light will fill in and soften the shadows, giving you a more natural light feel.
James, thanks so much for your kind words. I do use white bounce cards for more light and airy images. As I wanted this image to be dark and moody, I wanted the shadows more pronounced. Sometimes, I add a flag (black card) on the opposite side of light to enhance these shadows for a dark and moody image.
You have an incredible eye for composition.
Awww thanks so much!
She did a great job on the comp.
Awesome.. and the winner is.... Natural Light...🏆
Awww thanks so much! 😁
Wow! Lady with a very lovely personality + talent - way cool!!!
Thanks so much for your kind words.
@@AmritaBhortake I just couldn't help myself, you drew it out of me...
I like both. ❤
Thanks so much for your kind words.
Both terrific but I think the artificial light worked the best.
Thanks so much!
Hi Amrita Like what you doing with the photography piece. We met today
It was lovely meeting you. Would love to chat more about photography sometime. Thanks so much for your kind words.
Natural light looks perfect 😍
Hahaha, it does look beautiful, right? I love that soft beautiful light
@@AmritaBhortake it looks beautiful
I ❤️ your flower photography they are simply awesome
@@ChaitanyaRavela awww thank you! That’s so sweet of you to say
Both are beautiful but the natural light one has slightly softer highlights which I prefer so that is my personal preference :)
Thanks so much! Those soft highlights definitely look beautiful. ☺️
artificial one
thank you so much for this video
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it ☺️
Both look beautiful, but if I have to pick it would be the artificial light one among these two.
Thank you so much! I am so glad you enjoyed it 😁
in this case, aritifical light made the photo more beatuful 🥰
Awww thank you 😊 appreciate that
I would sau that 90% of the video is mainly about the still life set up rather than the actual lighting. Very nice photos though.
Hahaha thanks Stuart. Glad you loved the photos. Please let me know if you have any further questions about the light setup and I would be happy to elaborate. Cheers!
Natural
I agree, Gina. I keep going back and forth but I love the soft natural look.
The artificial light is much warmer and pleasing.
Thanks so much for your kind words.
What are you using for a backdrop? Is that a floor tile?
Hello, the backdrop that I used in this video is hand-painted plywood. I have gone over my backdrops in much more detail in this video: ua-cam.com/video/vZb1QD6gKaU/v-deo.html
Please let me know if you have any other questions about it.
@@AmritaBhortake thanks for the link. I will check out that video.
id say natural light but artificial light contrast a bit better between light and shadow o.o
It definitely is. I love how natural light makes the image look like too.
natural light
Thanks Phyllis.
Your video doesn’t share your settings
Hi Navneet, thanks for your interest in the video. All the camera settings accompany each image on the lower left hand corner in the video. Please let me know if you have any specific questions and I would be happy to help out.
Do you have control on natural light? You do have control on artificial light. Hence my vote goes for artificial light
Hahaha true and great logic but you can modify natural light too 😁
I much rather the artificial light image.
I love that beam of light in the background with the artificial light.
"Micro" lens? Not "Macro"?????????
Hahaha yes, that is Nikon's terminology. They call it the Micro lens but it is a macro lens.
