Thankyou for you inspired me to take up sketching and this technique caught my attention and as having parkinsons my hands tremble and spontaneous muscle twitches made me put down my paintbrushes a few years ago.But this scribbling way you do it works like magic for me.Thankyou again and God bless you.
@@MadCharcoal thanks so much for your effort you may not realise the impacts your videos have but I can say that being in the UK as an art student your tutorials are e explainably useful! 👏
Thank you so much for your videos. I didn't know I could draw until I started watching your channel, and now it's starting to come naturally. You are the Bob Ross of charcoal
Your videos are so wonderful! Such masterful teaching as you so clearly and simply explain the processes-I have been drawing with charcoal for many years but am continually enlightened by each and every one of your video tutorials. Thanks so much for sharing your creative spirit ! Mollie
Thank you for the very informative video about drawing with charcoal. I've always had struggled drawing portraits. Especially in charcoal. Now i feel very inspired!
Excellent work you're putting out there. Hope that your videos become longer so that we get to see more complex sketches and the whole process behind them...love your thought process and mindfulness. Big ups.
My first thought was that you would be drawing on this wooden pad... :] which could also be interesting because of the interesting texture and stains of this board. Other than that, another brilliant drawing - Thanks!
Awesome. I have always drawn but decided to start taking it seriously now in my 30s. been working through Andrew Loomis' hands and face book. you seem to go in the opposite direction: features, then bone structure of skull and jaw. I was inspired enough by your work to pick up a pad and some charcoal sticks. I know the best advice is always just to practice, but any advice for a novice? Love your work
i brought a eraser for the charcoal and it barely works, doesnt rub off any of the charcoal..u have to keep goin over it over and over and still barely touches it....was a proper putty charcoal eraser too...iv tried 3 of them so far and all same...which one do u use?
i would really like to see you draw a head with its contours blocked in solidly in its entirety. I think using too many soft edges all the time can create bad habits because it allows you to hide a lot of mistakes
Been trying your technique for over 6 months now as a last resort before giving up art for good. I'm no further forward with this at all after watching your "tutorials" and trying so hard, I'm done. This is clearly a talent and not a skill, and cannot be learnt, you are talking rubbish. Back to photography for me, the one thing I do okay.

Amazing thanks for sharing. Keep drawing!

That's awesome. Would love to know how it as worked out a year later.
Your tutorials are MOST valuable, not only because of your mad talent, but your narration is the best.

i love the ghostly quality they all have. Like they are haunted by something and in turn come to haunt us as well
This video made charcoal drawing click for me. It also helped me let go and relax. It seems that's what I needed all along. Thank you!

What I love is that before you even started this, your hands were already covered in charcoal 😅 The real deal!

your eraser hasmore charcoal than a volcano xd
One question - what kind of paper do you use? The paper I use is heavy and has structure, but sometimes struggle to keep the grip to the surface.
How can I learn that's work
❤❤❤
Him: starts with a mess, ends with a portrait.
Me: starts with a mess, ends with a mess.
Bought 5 kneaded erasers and they don't work like yours. Am I doing something wrong!

I tried scribbling like this, but it didn’t form a face. It just looked like scribbles, and nothing came out.
Did you have a reference or did you go blind?
Oláaaa! Sou do Brasil. Gostaria ver uma obra sua com rosto de Jesus e me marque por favor. Obrigada.
Clearly black magic
