Good Value to be sure. If you aren't a builder you can't go wrong. If you are a builder, there are some trade offs that may mean you will be happier with the VRD kit. Just to be the Richard Von D-bag in the room, I was really hoping for either a replacement for the VS4-10 Origin, or even a wishlister like a VRD 24. Hope it sells like hotcakes so you can keep bringing us new surprises in 2024. Happy New Year 🖖
How is this good value. Its in the same range as there are other RTR kits, which give you more bang for your buck. If it came with the carbon rails then yes. Flat metal rails are no different then c channel rails on standerd crawlers. This should be in the 299 329 range. Based on the electronics you get with it. They could of easily have a fusion se in there to justify the 499 price tag. I rather get the Redcat Ascent for 299 get better tires and a Fusion Pro and still beat the 499 price tag.
@@PeterCPRail8748 I've come to appreciate the value that Vanquish Products offers with the quality of their products, for one. Tires, Foams, and Body separate are aprx. $150. Add that to a VS4-10 builders bundle for a baseline and you are in the ballpark before even adding electronics. You're pretty vague on comparison so I can't be specific, and we can agree to differ that -cg flat aluminum rails are the same as stamped steel C-rails. If I sound like a fanboy it's only because Vanquish is the only brand that hasn't let me down. One caveat is I have never purchased a VP RTR only kits, so I cannot personally offer an opinion, other than RTR's are traditionally entry level by industry standard.
@@GrimJerr in my opinion Vanquish and Traxxes Crawlers are vastly overpriced for what you get compared to Axial, Element Rc, and entry RedCat. RTRs should be priced as entry base to the hobby. So a person can start to upgrade on there own.

Vanquish are crushing it atm this is a really cool release, definitely happy I got the kit version, but I can see a lot of people going this route for the plug and play aspect 🤙🏻🍻

Pretty cool that you can buy one all done up like this. I don’t like how the bigger companies are taking away from all the cool companies Gspeed, brazin, TGH, etc With some vanquish axles….now hopefully they can survive with scx pro, redcat lcg, vanquish with now several…..but the overseas had already done that. I’ll always get a real chassis and self build but. For a first car this would blow one’s mind.
Just bought the Redcat fusion and love it but im kicking myself a little for not spending the extra $100 and get the stance. Still not sure if I should have got it over the fusion or not. Both have their pros and cons i guess though.
Raising a retail price that much is a huge leap and not that big of a notable increase to most consumers. And just because that’s the retail difference doesn’t mean that’s all it would be in a RTR like this.
I would assume it would be even less cost buying in bulk so maybe the price increase wouldn't be as high. I love the idea and know rtr will be easier for people to jump in but maybe it's just my love of building kits but I feel like I along with most people would remove the stock esc,motor, servo and radio first thing so only added value over kit is body and tires and that comes at some discounted parts like links and sintered gears if I understand correct. I get the economics and know rtr is ruling the market over kits right now,I just think adding some better electronics would have gave some added value and better quality to go along with the high quality of vanquish parts. no hate here whatseover just thoughts on something that would set it another bar above the rest. After watching this video I bought a stance. After looking it over and tightening some loose screws I put it on the ground and it was clicking like crazy. Any fixes for this. I don't even want to use it in case I'm mess'in something up
On the fence about this or the kit. Im just doubting myself with the kit 😂. Ive been in the hobby for a few years now and built a bunch of element and 10.2 kits but that vrd trans looks intimidating to me. Im used to the simple 3 gear or stealth x. Is the instructions pretty good and should i stop worrying and buy the kit already lol
I’d confidently say the Vanquish will still outperform it. Better center of gravity, better steering, all metal gears, more overdrive, better suspension, better weight distribution.

Hello..... I just purchased this VRD truck in Silver..... I'm wanting to put a Jeep Body Kit that is 313mm. Is it possible to modify this to a shorter wheel base to fit the more common body styles?
The links can be changed to shorten the wheelbase if you wanted for sure. With a Jeep body, there will likely be no need to change the links though. Even if it is made for 12.3" just placing and trimming the body to clear the tires will almost certainly be enough.
I feel like I was cut off by VANQUISH, I just purchased the VRD CARBON and assembled it. Now, there's the RTR version, which is only $70 more expensive and gets $150 more wheels/tires, pre-painted bodywork, and electronics

$70 bucks is insane value for what you get in it. Yes, you give up carbon rails and machined gears. But for that you get $150 in wheels/tires, pre-painted body and electronics, probably $250-$300 total. Seems pretty worth it to me.

Most comp rigs are never driven in a competition. Most people just want a capable truck to crawl tough obstacles. Maybe 2% of people will ever actually compete.

They’ve got to save some costs somewhere. And the sintered gears hold up to a cheap brushed motor pretty well. Pretty common for an RTR to not have the premium options a kit has.
Eh... The Phoenix RTR came with machined gears and the Twin transmission. Every vanquish RTR gets less and less value with each release. Just sad to see is all...

You lose almost everything that's good about the kit and gain their junk sintered gears. The electronics are all sub par as well. You would be money ahead to buy the kit and quality electronics from the start. Watch they will only offer the rtr soon forcing you to buy stuff you don't need that will end up in the trash. Then you will have to buy the upgrades to get it to the kits level

The issue is that your statement is based off of your personal perception which is vastly incorrect in relation to the overall market. RTR's sell 10:1 compared to kits. Hate them or not, that hardcore enthusiasts are far fewer than mass market customers. The kit version of this was released for the enthusiasts, but the RTR is what the mass market wants.

I've found just velcro works on 4s packs up to 850, but 1300's pull free after a few good tumbles

It’s a dirt simple trans to build. Both are viable options of course but if you have the desire to build, I always say grab a kit.

The difference is in the parts included. The Carbon has a ton of goodies included.
