I was soooooo close to pulling the trigger on an SCX10 Pro kit, but then while I was making dinner last night this video came up on rotation and now I have my Kit for my 2024 build. I took a break from RC after RMR because I have been neglecting so many other things to play with little trucks. I had a decent summer and the (self imposed) ban on Hobbies and Social Media did help get a lot accomplished. Now I can slow down again and settle in for winter I can allow myself more leisure time, get back to maintenance, a few changes, and my next Kit for 2024, A VRD Carbon. The SOA configuration was something I contemplated for my Phoenix Groundfox, and what was the thing that sealed the deal, as well as the price point being the same as the SCX10 Pro, I would rather have the Vanquish. 🤩✌ Thanks for another great offering from VP
Wile I do miss the days of trying new things and seeing what works and what doesn’t for crawling. It is awesome to see what trucks straight from the factory come with compared to all the work I put into my Wheely King back in the day lol
Real tempting. It's kind of just all the best chassis crap in a box ready to assemble, no dinking around trying to source odds and ends here and there. Very nice!
I have no complaints with this. I'm impressed and intrigued. I don't need this, but I want it and will probably order one. Good job everyone at vanquish!
Competitors should learn from you/Vanquish. These videos are so helpful and they answer alot of questions . Great job!!!! Can’t wait to get my kit. Looking forward to the build!!!!!
I’ve got an SCXpro and it’s a decent kit. It crawls well (once you get brass knuckles and weight down low) but it was a bit of a let down for me. Coming from vanquish I can guarantee you this will be better out of the box as well as much better fit and finish than the axial.
I am proud of you Josh. Quite a departure from most of your previous builds. Over the last couple of years I have built many flat rail competition rigs for other people but I do not use a flat rail frame and manage to be still competitive. However this one has me thinking seriously about adding it to the garage. If Josh can rethink and rebuild then maybe it will be worthwhile. Thanks for your work and contributions.
Finally I managed to get hold of a Vanquish VRD Carbon - Crawler kit ❤️ no rims, no tyres and no motor. But rhe 1970’s Absima Bronco body will be the closest to a Vanquish body I can get so ordered one of these too 😊❤️
This kit looks awesome and so much attention to performance and detail, nothing less from vanquish! I wasn’t planning on building another kit this year but now….
Doesn’t matter when it comes out. It seems to be a far superior kit. Everything I’ve gotten from vanquish over the years is leaps and bounds better than anything else on the market. Quality has not been beat by any other main stream rc company out there.
@MADFORCE32 a lot of guys who have run them have nothing but great feedback so far. Obviously no rtr is perfect. Just like this kit won't be perfect. But the redcat is rtr for dang near half the money. Of course I'm happy to see as many kits and rtrs as I can! The more that are available means there are that many more to pick from. But I own then all and I'll own this one too. Likely built identical to this one lol.
@Onebad96zj vanquish products are nice. There's no one that can deny it. All except for their xvd ar60 front axle shafts. I bust one every time I run the truck! 🤣🤣🤣
G'day Josh ol son..... last xmas i got the Vanquish Builders kit, plus Method rims and VXT2 tyres(ive only test run this truck?) still got the Cliffhanger body to go on top. the only thing seconf hand is my 2 stage foams( couldnt afford new foams).... love the Carbon version with a nice clear Purple to cover that carbon. Cheers from A M8 Downunder
Just finished building mine, I didn't have a body for it so I took a spare 4 tec 2.0 mustang gt touring car body and hacked it up. looks terrible can't wait to go crawl it
Awesome video. I just snagged one of these and my first ever rig for comp. Getting into it with my brother is been doing it awhile. I’d love to see a video of your comp gear for beginners if you will. Battery’s, charger for onsite like you had with your patina body comp build sneaky testing the vx2 tire, charger at home and packs and general gear you recommend for comp. Maybe what radios you use and more. I am adding wheels and tires and such to my cart now from your site
@@HarleyDesignsInc I’ve been watching ever since! Great show. I maybe missed it, did you ever do that video? Thanks man. Finally got my carbon done, second RC ever and first kit. I’m so excited. I missed the first comp I was going to take it too as the wheel nut driver and wheel nuts didn’t show and no one around had em :/ Ready now tho for the next one!
very nice, would have loved to have a higher angle on the lower skid, 12 degrees is our norm here. also I don't run with a 78mm tranny skid, always use a machined down 70mm.
I absolutely love the kit. It's very straightforward and very easy to understand. Are you aware that vanquish shipped the wrong spur gear with the kit? I'm having a devil of a time where the spur gear is either warped or possibly the input shaft. I'm not sure yet. But the instructions call for a 52 tooth spur gear, and the one that was sent with the kit is 56. This cause issues with the mesh adjustment. Holmes Hobbies had an issue with it. I have installed the correct spur gear and still have the same issue. It solved the mesh issue, but not the warped or out of round issue. Just curious, is anyone else having this issue? I know contact customer support. But, I felt it needed to be brought up on this channel.
You can put the t-wrench on the locknut and then tighten the 3 screws holding the spur on. This will help center the gear. If the top shaft is bent, then it’s just a customer service issue. Yes I am aware of the difference in the instructions. I prefer the 56t spur myself though.
@HarleyDesignsInc Thank you for the super quick reply and solution! It's greatly appreciated! I will give that a try. I'm really getting anxious to get this puppy on the rocks! 😈
Flat rails and a 4-link, Josh?! Lmao! Seriously though, great build spec! 👍 Not sure about those aluminum sliders and cast aluminum portal covers, though? Easy enough to change but there's still the shocks - I guess we'll see how well they hold up? Overall, impressive release by Vanquish! 👍
Hi Josh! Thanks for the video! I know I’m late to the game but just picked up my first VRD carbon kit. If I want to knock it back down to 21%od what the correct part number for the front axle gears? Would it be VPS08354? Thanks for the help!
I am guessing allot of us wants to know if that SOA mount will be available and will it fit a standard F10 portal axle? I would love to try and fit it to my GroundFox.
Hey Josh, Noob question: I’m running a HW fusion pro 2300 with a reefs 1100 servo, the internal bec on the system is only capable of 7.4v. Can I hook up an external bec to get 8.4 for maximum servo power? Or would that void the warranty on the servo, or damage any of the electronics? TIA!
Darn it. I thought I was done for a while. I have a Phoenix on the bench getting some upgrades. Looks like I’m going to take a stab at my first comp build earlier than I thought. Any suggestions on making it more LCG?
Vrd carbon kit + wheels of fortune!!!! Come on do it this holiday season !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vanquish flat rail chassis! Harley from a few years ago is throwing up all over himself...lol I absolutely love this kit and where vp is going! Lfg!

The og days
You got me to buy a Lamy Safari pen this morning and now this. Order placed! Can’t wait!
Thanks josh your a blessing to our cummunity.
Great alternative to throwing a Phoenix on a Interceptor chassis !
I think now I know what truck I'm going to build to go with the BCA wheels that I just picked up. 😁 looks awesome!!!
Instantly looked for the knuckle weights for my c1
This is awesome!!! Just got done watching the live on vanquish.

Awesome! It should be nicknamed "The Harley"!
Just finished my build and I have to say I'm completely satisfied, thank you! 👍
Wow josh, you and the guys at vanquish have knocked this one out of the park. I cant wait to get one.
Nice work, VP team! Looks great and I am looking forward to seeing all the content people create on this truck.
Competitors should learn from you/Vanquish. These videos are so helpful and they answer alot of questions . Great job!!!! Can’t wait to get my kit. Looking forward to the build!!!!!
I just ordered one yesterday from Amain. I'll have it on the 26th. Looking forward to building it over my Christmas break!
This is basically what I was thinking about building over the winter. Thanks for simplifying it for me! Can't wait to get ahold of this one.
Great video answering all my questions... may be putting that on a Christmas list and roll the dice.. lol.
Well I guess this will be my winter build! Did not know this was coming yesterday when you asked. Lol looking forward to this
Awesome job Josh and VP crew!!
Definitely excited for this! Great buildout of parts my comp truck is very similar and it’s a real performer
With everything else being so good I wish you guys would come out with a shock that doesn't leak...
Be nice wouldn't it....
Odd...I never had issues on mine...2 years and not one rebuild on em...mine were made on a Wednesday perhaps lol
@booncha1971 you must be one of the lucky ones lol.
@@booncha1971my rtrs leaked out of the box.
When building shocks use a good marine grease instead of slime on your o-rings and it helps tremendously 👍 your welcome 😆
Got mine! I was just about to order an scx pro... This looks great!

Good stuff Josh and your explanations always very detailed. This one is certainly on my wish list.
Finally something I want from vanquish
Vanquish phoenix is good. Are you daft ?
@@axellness not saying it isn’t but it’s not my style of crawler. If i bought a Phoenix the only thing I’d end up using would be the axles
Was not expecting that drop! Vanquish has totally killed it on this kit! I can't wait to get my hands on one!!🦾🦾🦾

Sweet looking kit! Been planning to do my first 1/10th crawler kit in January and I might just have to pick this one up
Great looking truck!
New kit looks great. Can’t wait to see some running video.
Excellent job on this Kit I can't wait to get one Thanks for the videos
OUTSTANDING kit. My only "wish" is that it had been offered in two versions - portal or straight axle choice.
As should have been the case with every version of the Phoenix, Fordice, SCX10.3, & Basecamp.
This kit looks awesome and so much attention to performance and detail, nothing less from vanquish! I wasn’t planning on building another kit this year but now….
Thanks for giving a quick build overview! Better stamp them logos in that carbon!😎
Oh hell yes.... been holding off pulling a trigger on a SCX10 Pro... now I know why.
Page 14. Part vps10144. Looks like bearing install in back cover is missed too.
Vanquish making all the other companies look silly! Looks awesome and can’t wait to get mine!
Just so late to the party.... even red cat beat them....
@rc-daily redcat did a comp based kit?? Or that rtr that needs atleast half of it changed to compete?
Doesn’t matter when it comes out. It seems to be a far superior kit. Everything I’ve gotten from vanquish over the years is leaps and bounds better than anything else on the market. Quality has not been beat by any other main stream rc company out there.

Not sure I can handle this for my first build. Lol
Thinking about it.

This really looks like a great chassis well done y’all!
Scale news, reminds us its build season... today drops this B.A builders kit.. i see what you did here lol!
Edit: i still fell for it and ordered one
🔥 Vanquish coming out swinging!! This is a very well thought out kit. Having portal's with a low center belly makes sense! Nice work guys!💯
i'm looking to start a new build and was just thinking about what chassis to go with. i really like the quality of this kit
Great looking rig! Just need someone in the UK to start stocking Vanquish Products🤞🤞🤞
Well I really want one now 👍
Looks awesome, be great if you can get the servo on axle mount separately, as i have a scrap plastic front axle where the panard mount has broken.
Will the incision driveshafts work on this chassis
Its an exciting time to be getting back into rc. For the 13th time 😂
Just finished building mine, I didn't have a body for it so I took a spare 4 tec 2.0 mustang gt touring car body and hacked it up.

Are you going to make the servo on axle mount separate and sell it?
Super sick
another one out the park!
Will you guys be offering a winch mount option in the future? Great Kit! Thanks
Would make sense if you made side skids to mount the Phoenix/fordyce body. Perhaps a future release ?

This is going to be such a better choice than that redcat
I would hope so seeing as vanquish markets themselves as a premium crawler brand and redcat comes in under $300.
Very informative 👏
Great job VP fellas. One question, might be dumb, is the servo on the trans for anything different on this one?
Great release! I might have missed it, but where do the leaf springs mount?
On silly scale trucks, not these high performance machines!
@HarleyDesignsInc so all hope is on matt now 😅
Can you only use Vanquish Wheels on this set up? Will you offer parts necessary to fit other brands of wheels??? This thing is amazing!!!
If you have to ask this , the kit isnt probably for you...just saying...no offense 😉

That TRD font…..😮
No antenna tube included?
Will the servo on axle mount fit the F10t axles?
Any chance you may come out with a straight axle version?
What size hub is required for the heavy brass knuckles
How much shaft travel on those shocks?
That rig needs to see some vertical lines bro!
Will there be a straight axle version available?
When is axle servo mount coming out
So i got me vrd carbon. Getting alot of binding when turning with heavy brass covers
Will the VFD Twin fit into this setup? Future options for servo mounts?
What is the width between side skirts?
would this also work as a trail truck?
Hi Josh. Thanks for your videos. I always enjoy them. Question: can I run 2.2 wheels with 5.2 tires and get good performance with this build.?
Are you guys going to sale the links separate?
Hi Josh! Thanks for the video! I know I’m late to the game but just picked up my first VRD carbon kit. If I want to knock it back down to 21%od what the correct part number for the front axle gears? Would it be VPS08354? Thanks for the help!
Can a 550 size motor fit on this kit?
Is there a filler piece If the skid Extension/ Motor guard is removed, to fill the little Gap in the skid?
There is not, if someone wants to remove it, they could either modify the stock extension or print a filler.
Pretty great price point really at $429 with full carbon
What price are we looking at?
I am guessing allot of us wants to know if that SOA mount will be available and will it fit a standard F10 portal axle? I would love to try and fit it to my GroundFox.

Which would be better? Vrd or scx10 pro? Or your thoughts. Thx.
Hey Josh, this or the SCX10 Pro?
VRD 100% for sure.
Is there a kit without axle going to be offered? I got phoenix that would be nice to transfer over
No, this will only be offered in a complete kit version at this time.
Could you run a fordyce body on that
What shelves are you using to display your rigs?
IKEA.
