Thank you so much for sharing how to make a portable flower press. Lord willing I am definitely making a couple. What a great little invention. Love that it’s light weight!
I love them both, I'm going to make a couple for my daughter's birthday next month, she loves to press flowers and will be really thrilled to be able to take them on nature walks. Thanks so much for sharing such a brilliant idea!
Great video & device - should have figured this out long ago! I walk in nature almost every day & come home with stuff in my pockets &/or hands - often get home w/damaged leaves - this is the solution - THANK YOU
I love them both and will be making a couple to start with. Such a great idea and small enough to take on a hike, awesome. Thank you for sharing and encouragement.
Thank you for showing how to make one of your flower presses. They are beautiful. I did wonder how you made yours. What a great idea. Yes carrying a normal pressure around would be too much , since they are quite big. But these are a perfect small size . I will definitely have a go . I loved both of them . The material is really pretty.
Thank you for such a timely project just as Autumn is coming in here in the UK. I really love what you have done here; so effective and yet simple to make. I shall certainly be making some for myself and my art friends.
This is a lovely idea, I am always collecting things when out and about but usually in little bags, I will be making a press to take out with me. Thank you for the inspiration!
I already made one similar to those a couple years ago but I always go back to my small-ish old book with hundreds of pages. It's always full of botanicals, I have way more than I can use 😆 You drawings are sooo beautiful!!
'love this! I will make one today because I always pick up leaves during my walk and have to put them in my pocket or purse-not good😉...thank you for this timely idea❣
Thank you for this idea. I am gathering the supplies now to make my own press. I truly enjoy your videos and because of them have renewed my interest in art and nature.
What a great idea for Nature Journals. I also have a big flower press. I will definately be making a couple of those at least and so simple but cute too. Thank You for sharing.
I loved both and definitely will be making one for an upcoming trip. Thank you for sharing, I'm a new subscriber and really enjoy your content and easy approach to nature sketching.😊
Hi, just discovered your videos. They are beautiful. I am just starting nature journaling, I am not very good at drawing but I am hoping that with practice I will improve! Best wishes Lyn from Australia.
Là aussi c'est génial! Je fais du scrapbooking et du patchwork alors je vais faire des jolies pressés à fleurs.... Ensuite ce sera dessin et aquarelle botanique....youpiiiiii
Great ideal!! Thank you. Like you l have the heavy duty flower press ! I have put my nature finds in a lot of books. So becareful if you use my art library! I am making this tomorrow!
Hi I just found your videos, and I absolutely love it. I'm been binge watching all of them and love them. I wonder if can you make a video showing the different supplies may be needed and you use to give beginners like me guidance. What basic supplies you uses when out in the field. What different colors of watercolors do you prefer, also what colors of inks. If you can make the video it would be so great and helpful.. Thank you so much... ❤❤❤
Thanks so much! I do have a majority of the materials I am using in many of my videos in the description. These are Amazon links which describe the materials in detail. I hope that helps for now! Please feel free to ask me about any other items that aren’t listed…I will try to find the same things or similar. Thanks so much again for watching!! 😊🌸
hello, a few questions! 1. how big is the cardboard in the video? 2. did you need to refresh the paper after the first day(s)? the leaves/flowers look great btw! 3. i like the design at 11:52, how did you make it? thanks!
Hi, thanks for watching 😊 1. The cardboard was precut packaging and I would say it was about a 4” by 3” rectangle 2. I have used the paper over and over again…it may get stained but as long as it’s dry, it works 3. Not sure what you are referring to? My pattern was to just cut a rectangle about an inch or so wider on all four sides of the cardboard. Then cut to fit a smaller piece to fit the center. Hope that helps! Thanks so much for watching 🌸🌼
i'll edit my post to make the third question less confusing--- 😅 to rephrase it, i was wondering how you made 11:52 (the press with the bigger label & wood pattern)
@@aquablue966 Oh, gotcha. I just used some printed card stock (wood grain) and a smaller white card stock rectangle…glued them together and printed “My Nature Diaries” on it. Glued to the fabric and then used 3 coats of Mod Podge over the label and material. Hope that helps😊🍂
Did you never have any problems of loosing some of your pressed material? Or did you never carry around these presses? I made my own little press with two pieces of flat wooden plates, but the flowers tend to fall out and are damaged in the bag. I can't "fill" my press with some pieces, because the new ones which are 3D at the beginning will spread the to wooden plates and give the flowers which are already in the press and thinner but not yet dry enough, room to slide out. Did you ever have this problem?
I never have lost any pressed materials from this flower press. As long as the elastic is tight everything stayed fine even carrying this around on many hikes. So much lighter to carry too! You could make an undecorated one to test it out (which I did before the video.) 😊
@@mynaturediaries4402 As I read your answer, I came up with an idea for my problem. Why not cut the pieces of paper a little bigger and fold them over, so that the plants can't slip out. Or wrap the whole inset in a piece of paper. I will try some variations. These little presses are wonderful and lightweight.
