    This is such a good video. This guy is definitely a teacher. Very informative but very concise. I watched several other videos and I think this one can be understood even by a person that has not much experience with airsoft. Great job

    Awesome video! Im getting more and more into Tech work to the point where some friends have asked me to get their airsoft rifles tuned up. I just recently finished adjusting the power for my 3 vietnam-era rifles and found i had a spring that was WAY overpowered in all 3 rifles. I honestly have no clue what powerit is (my guess is either an M120 or M130). Im definitely going to create a set up with the fish scale to test unknown springs. Might not be perfect but there seems to be a measureable difference. Thanks for the video, ill be refering back to this one regularly!

    As I didn't see it mentioned, the 100 part of the m100 is a reference to the bb speed in m/s.
    Of course other factors can influence it and the springs don't appear to be all that consistent but that's why your results align fairly well with your research.
    You also should mention the cylinder to barrel ratio as that could be driving your change in results with regard to length.

    I wonder if you guys can make a video just like this one, where you compare fps with the correct bb weights and how much range in meters, you really achieve on a normal day...

  • @PetittCKD

    What weight BB did you use during testing?

    Another thing to know about longer barrels is that as you go up and wait the power of your shot goes down because it drops your FPS even more than normally would. I gave you an example. If I were to shoot a 25 and a 36 I have my SR25 they would get about the same power. My interview is 450 mm. However, what I was trying to do was shoot 4 fives out of it and my sr25 currently shoots 1.65 joulrs but on a 45 it will shoot 1.45. I asked you need to take 50 mm more off the inner barrel.for .4's in a sr25 no more than 430mm for maximum performance. For .45 youbwant 400mm . You can even try And m4a1 in a barrel which should be 363 mm. I have an ak-47 length. Inner barrel And before you ask what the diameter barrel I was using, I was using a 6.01 to help with the the cylinder to barrel volume ratio, although it didn't really do a whole lot.

    Ok so I have a 455 mm 6.03 madbull black python barrel. I want to run right around 350 for my normal riflemen requirements and maybe bump it to 400 if I decide to do a low fps dmr. What springs would I need?

  • @privateinformation5329
    @privateinformation5329 11 місяців тому +1

    Did you say what BB weight was used for testing? Also, 200mm vs 500mm should have higher differences with heavier BBs, as they're harder to accelerate(but also harder to slow).

  • @medycznyklefedron

    long barrel can cause issue. when you fast shoot your piston can make under pressure when it return to his position

    I got a brand new m4 and ibwasgetting 420 ootb and i ordered the 310 fps version. It also only has a 300mm barrel with a 6.04 bore diameter. then put a prometheus bucking in making the air seal even better because when i put the m100 spring in it the fps was get this 425 so it changed nothing at all.
    As a side note newer qc springs only require you to remove the stock.

    • @CRUC1F13D_13
      @CRUC1F13D_13 Рік тому

      So if I put an m130 spring in my matrix warlord modular to get higher fps (completely stock did not even open the gun up yet) do you think it would have no difference than putting the m120? I'm new to upgrading riffles and you seemed techy enough to ask

    • @darkshock42mlg05
      @darkshock42mlg05 3 місяці тому

      @@CRUC1F13D_13under normal circumstances a m120 is ,400 fps and m130 is what my m4 was doing before I shirt stroked. Now it's cqb legal and I'm thinking about taking 1 more tooth and putting 13:1 gears in it to up the trigger response. When you upgrade the trigger response you need a m110 and has the rates of fire goes up so does the power of your spring because you're pissing needs to return faster.

    • @ReplaySportsAirsoft
      @ReplaySportsAirsoft  Рік тому +1

      NO, your right on point. tight bore barrels will get you higher velocities. Also keep in mind there are other factors ie pistons, o-rings, cylinders , heads etc...

    I just put a shs m130 with a 6.03 380mm barrel IM CRAZY SHOCKED average is 495fps, low end was 485 maximum 502fps. Going of your numbers my spring should be m170 for the power I'm getting.
    Gun is a cyma cm518 (was lol) it has full shs gearbox, piston, cylinder 16:1, m130 spring. Stock motor is pulling it with a 11.v battery

    You have a severe compression problem if those are the results. A m120 with excellent compression will yield 400-445. Just saying. There is much more to it.
