Goodness gracious! If I would have watched this video when I started playing airsoft I would have been immediately discouraged. Is almost like they want to discourage you by giving you every single variable that could happen and then telling you that it's still a guessing game. There is other really good videos on Springs and FPS but this one is not one
I just brought my vfc Avalon with a gatetitan 2 out to my field and would have been classified as a dmr at 370 fps with .32s keep in mind it is an outdoor field so I gotta drop the fps a load if I want to be as aggressive as I wish to be with it.
I’m trying to build a Airsoft “SPR” so basically a build that can hop and send heavy bbs but staying just below my feilds sniper class fps wich if I remember Is 450 what my gun shoots .20 around the 380-400fps mark what spring type should i get
This may be a stupid question but here goes.. i bought an upgrade spring for my Specna Arms Core AEG, i got a Prometheus Non Linear Spring - MS110. I have fitted a gate warfet mosfet and have an 11.1v lipo. The gears are reinforced and the piston has a metal teeth so im thinking the gearbox battery and mosfet are all able for it. The problem is it arrived today and when i went to fit it i notice its about 50% longer than the stock spring that came in the gun which i think was M90. Its also obviously consoderably stiffer. Did i get sent a sniper spring as opposed to a spring suitable for an AEG with a version 2 gearbox or is it normal for the upgraged springs to be so much longer when uncompressed?
Did a chrono test at an indoor field with some friends just for fun not knowing it was required and got red tagged after seeing that my gun was shooting 386fps when the limit was 350:(.
Very informative. For non-linear springs, the small part that is more tightly compressed coil part (and easier to push) is the one that should go in the spring guide ?
My vfc BCM mcmr has tighter wound spring portion touching the piston. I would have thought it would be as you said? In the spring guide. My thought is that there is more mass per mm in the tighter wound portion so you wouldn’t want that part to be moving faster. It would take more energy to get the spring moving albeit very slight probably. So you’d want that at the spring guide where it’s not moving that much and the lighter side of the spring is doing the work. But it looks like I’m wrong.
@@c0mputer yeah makes sense. Maybe they set up your spring in the wrong direction at assembly. I downgraded my spring as my AEG came in shooting hot, and I placed the compressed part in the spring guide, it's working flawlessly. Also, the spring it came with was set the same way.
@@peter11256 Good to know, after talking with an airsoft mechanic friend he said also that the tightly wound portion goes on the spring guide like you have done. I also need to downgrade for a hot shooting gun and will do the same as you.
Hey I have a serious question about this, if I get a CQB gun, and I want to upgrade it to more fps; is the spring everything I need? Do I need to uprage other parts in the gearbox or something else to make it work?
Yes, the spring is too high for the gun. The gearbox and maybe the gears will be able to handle it, but the motor and battery aren't suitable for an m130.
An M130 is going to be more work out of most gun's stock motor basic 9.6nimh (as mentioned by the other commenter). Especially when upgrading a less expensive base gun, the motors they have will be good enough for stock performance and that's it. Not to mention the integrity of the gearbox shell. You're going to be putting more wear and tear on the other components so starting with a better gearbox will ensure it will last a bit longer. My recommendation is that it's a lot of work to push it up with just a spring and you have to ask yourself if the extra 0.5J of energy is going to be worth $xx that you're gonna spend. That extra performance might be worthwhile to some, but the cost might be a factor too. One way I like to tackle it without adding more wear and tear is through air seal tuning as much as I can. That means squeezing more FPS out of the existing gun and keeping it at an M120 through better air seal components and a tight bore. Just a thought.
@@majorblow01 check your gun specs i have a gen 2 but it is a proline so it has a etu with internal mosfetbut mine also came with a 24k motor and i belive the gear ratio is 18:1
Thanks alot. I am beginner in airsoft and more videos like this would be awesome…truly appreciated
Cracking video... short sweet and simple.
Thanks for the video tang. Very useful. When I was new I had no idea things like compression parts or bore diameter played a big role.
It helped a LOT and was straight on the fact. I like it. You got +1 subscriber.
Thanks! Great for anybody wishing for an easy upgrade to their AEG.

I love the faf range
Great video, you guys did a great job I appreciate the explanation ! Thank you

Get a m100 spring
Hello, can i use guarder sp130 spring for for 40,000rpm motor with 1,450mah 11.1vbattery?. What is your good advise?
I wouldnt do that my friend
I got a question, are all aeg springs universal?

Can i use 120 spring with 25,000rpm motor ?
Vibes starts at 3:13. The rest is a long-winded psa on read the rules and what is fps.

Said you might need to upgrade the motor or batteries
are the asg springs irregular pitch?
Yes
Its ok m145 spring with m160 motor... And how much the fps i will get
So, how did it go?
Do you think an M130 spring is too much for a lancer tactical gen 2 with metal gears, 19K Motor and 9.6v battery?

Do all AEG springs fit each gun?
Still waiting for an answer. I’ll ask on reddit
Yes

How come airsoft guns are so much cheaper than in asia?
Next time dont put giant text in front of the video.. wtf
