I have owned this car since 2015 when it first came out in Coulis Red with Cashmere interior, what a sharp car. It is a real eye catcher, I would not own anything but a Nissan. My first Nissan was a 1994 Maxima., 2019 Altima and the 2016 Maxima. You can't go wrong with a Nissan. Thank you for your in-depth look.
I just bought this car in black. I am in love. The 2019 model is not much different so l bought this one😉. Whom ever used this car babied it. It only has 40k on it. Perfect condition inside and out. Its a stunning beautiful car. Drives so smoothly. I feel so safe in this car while driving in luxury. Great videos. Thanks for the detailed review.
Love this review, you showed me everything I wanted to see, and told me everything I wanted to know. Loved the car already, but now I love it even more!
Mike.......Thanks for the video. This is a great Nissan Maxima. Bought mine from Grand Strand last Wednesday. Today is Saturday. It has been from North Myrtle Beach to Beaufort, then to Columbia, then Aiken, then Barnwell, and now back to NMB today (Saturday). To many great things to say about it. One word of caution. Do not pull up to close to the parking "concrete bumpers", sidewalks, or anything similar. The 2016 Maxima sits an inch closer to the ground. So stay back a little more than you normally would with some of the earlier model Maximas. This is my 4th Maxima so I am looking for about 10 years of use before turning this one over to my daughter. Just gave my son my 2005 with 171,000 miles. He had 343,000+ miles on his '95 Maxima. It would not die. And they won't if they are pm'd with oil changes and basics pm(s). He placed the '95 up for sale, had 7-8 calls, sold it the next day for 1500.
I just bought a 2016 Maxima Platinum. It's an amazing car for the money. It has taken three days studying the manual and playing to master all the gizmos. The intelligent cruise and all the other radars are very accurate and useful. Everything is designed with the driver comfort and ergonomics in mind. I came close to buying a hybrid Avalon, but took a detour to Nissan. Just learned today that this thing even has active noise cancelling. Loving it.
Your in-depth look was great and I love your excitement about this car. I purchased the same trim level & color on 6/30/2015 and I love it! I've received so many compliments on the look of the car, they have no clue about the power and inside of it. One thing you didn't show was the leg adjustment on the drivers side seat. Neat little function. This car is a BEAST! I pushed it to 120 (on an interstate) and it felt like it was just getting started! Had to slow down cause I was getting nervous - didn't want a ticket! But all in all you nailed it with this video. Price for this trim level starts around $38K
Mike, thanks for the detailed coverage. I'm in the market for a new car and this certainly gives me the kind of detail that I was looking for. I must admit that I was never a fan of the Maxima series, but this new 2016 model really changes things because it's a quantum leap and very impressive! I was waiting for info on the number of airbags, because that's an important aspect, but no biggie, I'll look up the information sheet for it.
MikesCarInfo Awesome write up! I will say that I am biased toward Nissan vehicles, specifically the Maxima, because I have owned two and I will be buying this one in its second model year (OCD :-)) I will say that this car is definitely aesthetically pleasing, artistically crafted, and a powerhouse under its engine. This is nothing like a Sonata or even a Cadenza for those who mentioned that. It's a cut above the rest. The interior is amazing! I wish they had the Platinum version or the SR version with the camel interior you could have reviewed! I love how you covered things that were common in vehicles and things that were uncommon and the length of time you covered things. Lastly, you spoke in layman's terms without trying to use all the jargon and marketing terms! Great job and I will definitely subscribe!
I think the interior looks absolutely amazing especially with the quilted leather seats. The exterior will have to grow on me a bit, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the exterior look of my Maxima when it was first introduced either.
it needs 19" wheels (due to its' size) and blacked out handles ... very masculine design, modern & sleek! It can go up against the Charger for biggest balls.
Great job on the review. The D shaped steering wheel, is actually know as flat bottom steering wheel. Usually found on high end sports cars. Also when reviewing the trunk the measurements would be a nice touch. Other than that great review.
at the time im writing this comment i didnt saw the entire video but this car looks amazing , it's a little bit different from what i have seen on the eu market until now , i'm not really a nissan fan and before i saw this car i wanted to buy i a m135 but i think this looks better and has way more space :d thank's for influencing my decision and save me some good $$
Very well done review. I was looking for a video for the 2016 Murano and came accross your review for the 2016 Maxima. I couldn't put my tablet down. Awesome car so luxurious and beautiful artistic design. Can't wait to see your Murano 2016 review. Thanks for doing this. Ottawa, Canada.
You did a pretty good job on your review if I must say, one of the first 45 minutes I've watched all the way through. I believe you did forget to go over the left driver side controls on the panel. I remember catching a glimpse of the heated steering wheel, but not hearing it. I just chalked it up to you being excited.
De'anthony Means Thanks for your feedback! Yea I completely skipped over that section... I did a video on the Platinum soon after this one where I went over everything. Thanks again!
That was the best review I have ever seen. Very detailed. Thank you so much. I just bought the 2017 nissan maxima SL and this review was very helpful. Thanks again
Nice I like the new maxima and the last Gen also. I use too wrk 4 hertz rental car and we had some and them nice and definitely got get up power. Keep the vids comin I love anything with car, trucks automobile period lol.
Good review! I can see elements of the old Z in this design. Nissan hit the ball out the park on the inside. I can see Nissan getting customers from some the high end cars because of the way it looks and the features it has on it and price.
wow this is an awesome video and I definitely appreciate the cruise control system how is actually on a road trip using my cruise control and I knew exactly what you were talking about I appreciate the information that is definitely a car I need to consider it for the next car
I just sat in one of these, very nice. I love how the leather and stitching covers almost every surface whereas in the last-gen model there was a lot of soft touch plastic. Glad that's gone. Very nice looking cockpit but it was black without diamond stitching. I want to sit in one with a tan interior and diamond stitching, that'll probably blow me away. Only criticism? The metalwork is fake. It's plastic made to look like real metal. That's a bit odd, they give it an almost full leather interior (not even the Q50 has that) but can't even use real aluminum? That's my only pet peeve about the interior though.
thanks you for explaining the information about the 2016 maxima sl beautiful car it's simple and sporty but you never mentioned the price range for this car. dose the sunroof on this type vehicle gose full back and dose the seats comes different colors. thank you. for sharing this information you did a great job.
Are the front doors a lil longer ? Looking at the windows, it seems there is more visibility in the front then typical 4 door sedans. Maybe im seeing things but it appears that way to me.
Lost me when when he mentioned the CVT. I have a 2010 model with the CVT - don't like them at all. I also notice the key fob has barely changed in 7 or 8 years. I have always found that the alarm button at the base always activates the car horn if it accidentally touches other keys or coins in your pocket. Extremely annoying and it amazes me they haven't corrected that issue.
Well get rid of it if you're going to complain. why buy a older CVT car? I hate people who complain about there car but don't even do research on which models are bad and which are good.
when it comes to body style, I favor American and Italian cars. Challengers, Mustangs, Camaros, Corvettes , Ferraris, and Lamorginis. Most Japanese and German Cars look similar. I love my Inifniti q50, but I'm trading it in for a Challenger Scatpack Shaker.
I would have had the leds wrap around the rest of the headlamps but that jus me nit pickin lol still looks nice and I seen an all black one bout a week ago on the road
I really think this Nissan Maxima is truly an Infiniti with a Nissan badge, and among other things, the Infiniti Q40 (Infiniti G37) is the authentic 4-door sports car with its rear-drive powertrain and 328 horsepower that briskly that car in 5 seconds with a traditional transmission instead of Nissan's CVT, although the all-new, next generation Maxima has a fake gear change to help with the gimmick of a 4DSC, but the Infiniti wears that name a lot better than that Maxima, I supposed.
NICE! But Nissan could have gained more trunk space if they used scissor hinges instead of the old type goose neck. My 04 Maxima has them. They make more sense. Why did Nissan go the goose neck route?
This car is a piece of art.
This car looks great in white!
Cesar Hanson especially if you get dark tints on the windows that’s why I really want a maxima Sl trim in white
And black

$37K. They had a special promotion, $2,000 off, and gave $500 if I financed. Got full trade-in on my 2012 Avalon.
they got you.. I have a family member who got them 6500 off MSRP for an SR model.. purchased it about 4 mths ago..

Good review & great Nissan.
looks nice... don't like the side contour lines but other than that it looks pretty good.... some people are blind.
Most comments hates CVT but they don’t have a cvt car or even driven one. Lol. I have a 2014 maxima Sv loaded. And she’s a beast.
Minato Namikaze whats CVT?. Are their not reliable?
Same 2014 Maxima, Midnight Garnet. 7th Gen is the best one!
Something very important is missing for more security : head-up display ; very useful to keep watching the road while watching the speed or gps
