When did 2019 become 1974?? Oh man I’m loving it!
Crosby, Stills and Hash
surprised that's not the band name for this project if u look at his past. lol run dmt, bong voyage, salvia plath, culture dealer.. he loves weed puns
funny guy 💛
🤣🤣😂😂 yes
@@ceohannahbannanah1238 holy shit those are the same people?
@@DuckRotation It's all the guy on the keys in this vid ^^ He's a legend tbh
This sounds like the eagles, steely dan and Fleetwood Mac. It’s so dope, rock really is in a golden age rn, being out of the spotlight of the public has really pushed it into such a beautiful direction
I’ll be the first to ooze love for todays indie artists.. but it’s far from the golden age unfortunately
Heavy Steely Dan vibes with this band...and I love Steely Dan so that's a good thing.
When he casually hits the cymbal behind his shoulder, he is the coolest drummer on the planet hands down.
YES I KNOW ITS THE COOLEST THING EVER
Sugarfoot style
Roadie: where should I put this last cymbal?
Drummer: It doesn’t really matter.
Roadie: ok cool.
=D
Underrated comment
Had this exact convo before with someone helping me set up lol
surprised he still uses it at 1:44
Remind me of Jonathan "Sugarfoot" Moffett :)
That cymbal hit after the drum fill 1:32 was fucking sweet.
Great cymbal @ 1:44
I'm inspired
As well @ 3:25
I got chills at that l
part, loved it!
So smooth
It's so smooth you'd miss it if you blinked
Oh, to light a candle for the underground.
love how the vocals literally sound direct from the 70's not just 70's style instrumentation with indie vocal styles from 00's - just so damn good.
I was very surprised by this once it kicked in. I heard so many things in it, touches of Crosby Stills & Nash, Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, 10cc, Gerry Rafferty. If I was in the car, cranking up the AM radio as loud as it could go, and this came on, I just might turn off at the next exit and find the nearest wrecka stowe and pick this single up! Maybe even the album.
Nice call on Rafferty and Boz. I didn't hear that at first, but yes. SD was my 1st take. Loudermilk brought me here.
Now that you mention it I I heard a snip of Dinah Flo a few days ago and it took me back. Underrated bay area star. It was on Loudermilk too.
For sure you nailed it I hear all of those in there and add in a calmer van Morrison with less range
Oh badfinger too!
Hearing this song for the 1st time is like winning the sweepstakes
I think they like Steely Dan a lot
Crosby Stills & Nash too (that chorus).
I think so ! Greetings from France ;)
You beat me to it. Massive SD vibe.
You've been living life on a thin line
But it really gets you down...
You could try, but it don't feel right
Oh, to light a candle for the underground
Its not the same song you remembered; You can try but its just plain wrong
Fools, they lie to each other
Fools, may hide from their lovers
You've been having lots of late nights
But it really wares you down..
Dancin' to the beat of the music
Oh.. light a candle for the underground
Its not the same song you remembered
You can try, but its just plain wrong
Fools, they lie to each other
Fools, may hide from their lovers
* “Fans of hippie music,
Oh, light a candle for the underground”
@@jerrylong6011 Thank you so much!
@@stereosorcery, you’re welcome!!
Have a great day!! 🙂🎶
This sounds straight out of the 70s and I love it
Makes me wish I was young again and the future was this long road leading into the distance with so many possibilities.
The drummer is cleaner than Mr. Clean!
I like that this sounds like actual soft rock and not some modern artist’s idea of what they think it sounds like.
Mikey Long's riffs are so dope.
It's that bassline that keeps me coming back. The foundation & groove created by the drums and bass working together on this is really what makes this song great.
PLEASE DO A TINY DESK!!!!!
Huh guess i smoked so much its 1969
HAHHHAHHHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!! but its a good thing! :)
Wow, I didn't know Adam Friedland drums too.
reminds me so much of America, jeez I love it. Also couldn't have asked for a better cameo from ka my fav skater lmao.
Blxxmah is he the dude at 3:00
yea lol its Kenny Anderson @@alb2935
I hear America , CSN good ole AM radio from the early 70's . RetroBros !!!
The drum fills remind me of Traffic, like on Low Spark of High Heeled Boys
Damn, this is good.
"Fools" debuted at #33 on the New Alternative 40 Chart this week!
New Alternative 40 Chart no one cares your chart
The lead singer really has that nice 70s sort of voice
It’s nice to see people my age love Real genuine music and like making it too
It's like Steely Dan, the Bee Gees, and The Byrds formed a thruple and somehow made a baby out of it.
def America too
Thank you, I was trying to pinpoint what I was hearing.
I came here to say Steely Dan and I see everyone hears the same thing 😀
Giles, Giles and Fripp also joined in
These Vibes Tho
I love that bass line
Every member of this band has their own vibe and look to them its so awesome
i have listened to this track an absolute reckless amount of times since its arrival. i'm so excited for this album.
i've never heard anything like this before. when i grow up. the sound of tapping tells me what to write next. and space shoes.
I don’t care when this was released. It was recorded in the 70s
I can’t stop listening to this. Straight bewitched
This song puts me in a good mood.
Salvia Plath returns
These harmonies are so fckin good
What do they remind you guys of? 80s stuff on the tip of my tongue. Hall & Oates. Electric Light Orchestra.
The comment i was lf lol
Just heard this song, for the first time in a long time I feel out of body this song is soo fuckin good omg
This could comfortably sit between Emerson Lake and Palmer and Steely Dan and it would sound right on the radio.
This song is dope. Been a fan the past few years. You guys nailed it.
this album is gonna good I bet
It’s sadly a single
Notice how both records of theirs is Perfect.
This kind of music is what I live for!☺️☺️
this is steely dan and america combined and it amazes me that no one else is seeing it
Stay the course, great recipe!!!! Love this sound, brings me back to my musical roots, 70's Steely Dan. Love it
Sounds of Ace and King Harvest with the delivery of Steely Dan. This is great music.
Steve Harley on Acoustic!
OMG this is such a Laurel Canyon 70s flashback but in the most epic way possible. Both my face and soul have the hugest grin from listening to this. Listening to this reminds me of why I adore music so much. Musicians are def a sacred caste of society.
Easy rock of the 70s bro... awesome cruise tunes
well done, what fun
THIS 21ST CENTURY 70S MUSIC IS MUCH MUCH BETTER THAN THE OVERLY POP INFUSED HORSE CRAP BEING PUT OUT TODAY BY MOST MUSICIANS
DRUGDEALER YOU ARE ONE PF THE LUCKY FEW TO BE ABLE TO BRING PAST MUSIC INTO ANOTHER AGE
The stuff not being marketing to children & women is actually good music?! Shocking!!
Great joint
Awesome
Wow what a groove, def giving the new album a listen
2010's turned out to be very good decade era for alternative music.
Love to see these guys merch table. We have shirts, pins, stickers, X, Blow, Grand daddy purp.....etc.
Piano man is so King :D
Best son ever !
One of my favorite albums of all time!
The cadence of Marc Jordan with a splash of Gary Katz production. SSSmooth!!
It's so Steely Dan's mood. ❣️❣️❣️
Wow Brillant ! This is what i call music, we are back in the late 60's- 70's (and musically i would have stayed in this era forever if i could)
This song came up on a Spotify discover playlist for me and I've had it on repeat multiple times a week since. The lead singer's voice, the background vocals, the lead guitar tone, everything is exactly what I'm looking for in music. I was shocked to learn that this is a modern group and not a 70s era Steely Dan counterpart. Incredible work.
Weyes Blood is 'Raw Honey' !!
Genuinely sounds like James Taylor. Glad they have the two albums on Amazon. Getting them right now this project is incredible. Excited for the new music
I hear America
...et le style en toute décontraction
My hands down fave collaboration. I was supposed to see them live in Philly. Kept thinking it was the 27th. It wasn't it was the 17th. Yup. Mercury Retograde. The Struggle is real. This song is all that and more.
These guys are radiating cool. Panty dropping music.
crosby steals his stash
This music video is my spirit animal
croby,stills,nash, and scaggs.. dope
A heap of influences well mined.
Anyone spot Ace's How long in the recipe?
noggintheenog exactly.
This music is ace.
I wonder how long they’ve been going on ?Lol.
IT'S WEDNESDAY MY DOOOOOOODDDDDSSS!!!
easily getting addicted to this tune...damn you, smooth gang of cool cats!
When I heard some old Christopher Cross song in the supermarket this morning I thought to myself, "I wonder if people still listen to this stuff?" I now have my answer :-o
skilled drummer
Anyone else getting a Boz Scaggs vibe alongside Steely?
The wholesome sounds of Drugdealer!
always nice to see a drummer who knows how to keep the symbols a decent level (in this case right behind him hahaha)
Classy ,indie, eternal...
You guys are the right guys for me!
Holy shit, is that Doug DeMuro on sax?!
They did it again.
Wow its 2019 and group with real harmonise what a concept. Only if top forty radio still exists.
Loudermilk sent me I'm sure most people missed this, because netflix quickly goes to episode 6 .Def steely vibes.
Guitarist playing a Jeff Beck signature strat 👍🏼
Gotta see this live back in 2019, missing this energy rn.
Crosby, Spills The Hash, & Young.
CSNY. Gotta have it in your blood to produce this sound right now. " It's not the same song you remember..."
Ok…I have to confess this is my first listen.
First song first listen and I’m already wanting to hear more. A++!! Yay!😁
The behind the back cymbal is so fucning hard
Got to be one of my top 3 albums of last year... love it!
i always took "to light a candle for the underground" as metaphorical and thought it was really cool.
he hit that crash so clean from behind at 1:43.
These men are going to ascend us into the next dimension
Homie Breaks it down heavy with the bass at 1:00 . Awesome Job Guys!
Background vocals. Epic. Cat Stevens anyone?
