It's funny how people rarely look up. When I was younger I did a lot of parkour, and we could litterally stand on the roof in the middle of the city, and no one would ever see us. Look up!!
Great walk again. Love this area, I’m so impressed with the mix of old and new as well as the creativity of the new buildings. London is such a cool city. Would love to spend a month or two there. Thanks so much for taking us around. - Henry
London is nearly 2000 years old and has always constantly changed. Some of the older buildings were destroyed in 1941/42 so London will always get a mixture of old and new.
3:07 4:10 10:26 I noticed that London modern architecture has maintained its medieval footprint both on ground level and looking up on an apparently insignificant street, when you notice a single skyscraper far away. This is the modern traduction of what happened centuries ago when you walked narrow streets and finally discovered a Gothic cathedral, that's really fascinating.
Thanks for the memories. I enjoy walking in this area a great deal. As an Architect I spend a good amount of time looking up (and running into things) so this perspective is familiar to me 😂. The City of London is rich with a nice variety of styles.
I was in London in 2018 and had tickets to the skygarden at the Walkie Talkie. I remember looking up at the Walkie Talkie and going, wow, I'm going up there!
Again i love how the new buildings are rebuilt on the same plots of land as the old ones, and still kept the ancient roman and medieval street plan layout, every time i visit the square mile if find it stunning and beautiful.
Relaxed walker [4k] 5:40 is a Richard Rogers building (Lloyd’s of London), opposite is 7:28 Willis Building (Norman Foster), at 11:40 is the Leadenhall Building (Richard Rogers) , 13:42 so call Gherkin is credited to Ken Shuttleworth although he worked for Norman Foster at the time I believe. This is insurance centre of the London with all these buildings' tenants having connections with the global insurance market
Hi my good friend Watched Walker, how is it that you continue always to manage producing and manufacturing such successful walking contents? I am always surprised with each of your contents, that you have managed to achieve new success heights!
They say don't look down, made me dizzy looking up!brilliant video what fantastic buildings London has bt ALL that glass window cleaners must be rich there 😁😁😁
Wow another great video thank u so much . It's so nice to see so much of london .. I desperately wish I could visit but this is like being there it's just as good .. Thsnk u for all the hard work u put into ur videos, pls know they are very much loved and appreciated.. 😀❤
I always look forward to your new videos. So soothing to watch and experience. Have you ever done or thought about some walks in Primrose Hill,Belsize Park and Highgate? I rarely hear about those neighborhoods or see very little about them.
There are many beautiful cities in Europe, but London is the great metropolis of all. Its financial district is more impressive than that of Frankfurt or Paris in my opinion.
Love the view of those many towering buildings... makes a very different kind of walk! 😎 That piece of art with all the animals strung together.... how strange that is!! Do you know what it's called?
Thanks Suzy, that sculpture is Crocodylius Philodendrus by Nancy Rubins. Btw, I include details in the video description about many of the sights in the videos (in case you’re not aware) 😀
Most of the world when they build skyscrapers they just care about it individually not giving attention about the surrounding features and the outlook of the whole, London done it well, every thing is connected with each other, they done it with elegance
I love the Perceval sculpture, and the Kindertransport memorial at Liverpool Street, but I'm not a fan of the modern skyscrapers though. Soon the medieval churches are all that will be left of the old city I loved!
These videos of walking in the cities are always very interesting, they show us beautiful urban landscapes and the architecture of each region. When possible, come for a walk in Brazil and make your videos in the city of Belo Horizonte. You are invited. Congratulations on your videos!
Very simple reasons. 1) Buildings over a certain height are forbidden in London by the Civil Aviation Authority. London is the busiest airspace in the world. 2) London is built on clay and has many deep tunnels, NYC mainly uses a shallow "cut and shut" style metro system. 3) London is not competition with "new world" cities to build a tall city centre, it has other interests, arts culture, history etc.
Imagine all those many years back when is it was Londinium and the legions of Rome Lived the best life they could there on the frontier of Greatest empire man has ever known.
London itself wasn't the frontier of Roman Britain. It was the centre of commercial activity for the Roman province of Britannia which quickly became fully integrated within the Roman Empire. The real frontier was in Northern Britain with the building of successive walls, notably Hadrians Wall. Also, the Roman Empire was not the greatest empire in world history. That epithet belongs to the British Empire and it's legacy today in the English speaking world.

It's a very imposing building when underneath looking up - the way it expands the higher it goes!

Thank you Jeri! Yes, I plan to film around that area more, I have got a couple of videos around Primrose Hill.
Awesome 🔥😍
Pedestrian area is like an open museum of modern buildings
still the same old medieval street plan, but with new buildings every few hundred years, its beautiful.
Another great video, thanks for sharing!

most beautiful in the world London i love you God bless you London Uk
can't believe it's a weekday afternoon, so quiet I thought it was a weekend! Pre-rush hour of course
Not many people live in the City, I think the last census it was only 5,000 residents. Commuting workers in the week and very quiet in the weekends.
Most of the world when they build skyscrapers they just care about it individually not giving attention about the surrounding features and the outlook of the whole, London done it well, every thing is connected with each other, they done it with elegance
London is very nice.
I love the Perceval sculpture, and the Kindertransport memorial at Liverpool Street, but I'm not a fan of the modern skyscrapers though.

wow super!
💞 London
Wow beautiful would look better if they built more skyscrapers really makes the city more beautiful
feels like new york lol i love it
Roads are quite narrow it should be little wide but skyline just fascinating look
#14:12 the screaming though 😂😂
These videos of walking in the cities are always very interesting, they show us beautiful urban landscapes and the architecture of each region. When possible, come for a walk in Brazil and make your videos in the city of Belo Horizonte. You are invited. Congratulations on your videos!
Thank you Leonardo, I'd love to come and film in Brazil some day, greetings to Belo Horizonte 😀
Ah, the city, the seat of power some would say very interesting and well shot as always. ps did you see Mr Khan by any chance??
Thanks Lynne, and no, I have never seen Mr Khan on any of my walks.
The seat of power does not reside in the City of London but the City of Westminster. It is the centre of financial activity though.
What do you use to film? camera? Phone? or go pto etc
Jorge, GoPro in this video, there’s a link in the description to my full gear list.
why only few pedestrians in London financial district? It is weekday afternoon!! Why?
Most were at work at that time, it’s not a big touristy area.
Show!!!!
Very best video thank you towers very bitifull👌👌👌good Louck Love you have agood day l Like it a lot video 1000000 Liiiiiiiikkkkkkke😗😗😗😍😇🙋

👍👍👍👍👍
I want to go London 😫
Me too😞
♡♡♡
I'm a proud Brit but I have to say compared to New York / Dubai skyscrapers, London skyscrapers are mere towers. Why can't London build higher?
Very simple reasons. 1) Buildings over a certain height are forbidden in London by the Civil Aviation Authority. London is the busiest airspace in the world. 2) London is built on clay and has many deep tunnels, NYC mainly uses a shallow "cut and shut" style metro system. 3) London is not competition with "new world" cities to build a tall city centre, it has other interests, arts culture, history etc.
London doesn't need tall skyscrapers. London has nothing to prove. And since New York and Dubai are former colonies of Great Britain doubly so.
i have been to all three and london wins easily.
Exactly ..New York Time square area is amazingly beautiful .
😘😍

British empire was the biggest in history
At least put some trees or parks in there !
Where, in the middle of the street
London is ruined by skyscrapers
This is only the City of London, which is only one small part of central London. The City of Westminster and the West End is completely different.
