I found this as I was looking for the final matchup they had in 07. I remember watching it live thinking this is historic and may never happen again. It did not.
@@BaseballAF the people sure seem to agree 👍 i predict rapid growth (but please don't get discouraged if it's a little slow going at first). Clemens vs Piazza will be a legendary episode if ya make it (that's me politicking)...
@@BaseballAF and i was the biggest Clemens fan that ever did exist (until all that crap came out about him). Clemens was having a very un Clemens like year in 2000 and then when he clocked PiazzA (def on purpose cuz Mike totally owned him and Roger had no answer to that point), Clemens year skyrocketed and he went on a run that lasted until he won the cy in 2001.
@down bad dav most people are so dumb they think steroids make people invincible and stop them from ever getting injured So no, I doubt anyone knows how bad they are for your body!
My stuff just went zoooooooooom I know everyone says my stuff is good, but I didn't expect this much traction this early You'll hit a good stride soon, the content is there, just need more people to see it.
Sorry but I don't agree with your rendition of Clemens wins the battle if he hit Barry and he doesn't score. Idc if Bonds sores or not, he's on base. His OBP against Clemens at that point is 1,000. He didn't get him out. It's not a win by hitting him. That's crazy talk
@@BaseballAF Okay I see what your saying. My opinion is Bonds was successful 6-8 times against Clemens. I understand the concept of giving up 1 base instead of 4 but regardless that AB still put the Giants in a better position to score. They were so threatened by him that walking him was their best case scenario. He earned that win throughout his career. I get your point though
This is a cool series! I think it would be much more engaging if you showed clips (even if not from the exact games you're talking about, but just of the players), instead of a still screen.
Thanks! Yeah I kinda get hung up on continuity, with showing clips that aren't of the topic at hand, but I appreciate the suggestion! I'll find a way to try and use it in the future.
@@BaseballAF Yea, it's obviously great if you can find the relevant games, but sometimes they are hard to find or bad quality. Even just showing them practice so you have some sort of visual. Like for this vid, you could have shown bonds hitting BP or some of his best homeruns, and for clemens, some bullpen or good strikeouts. I look forward to future vids!

I'm glad you kept that in your memory! This was always a matchup that I wanted to cover.
I’m sure they faced each other in spring training when bonds was with the Pirates and Clemens with the Red Sox.
Love the series!
Thanks so much!
Great channel! Truly the heir to Foolish bb’s throne
Thank you so very much! That's really high praise, I appreciate it
Absolutely fuckin love this series‼️‼️‼️
hell yeah! thanks so much!

@@anadraham2995 That was one of the matchups that got me thinking about this series at the beginning. Plus I'm biased towards Piazza

I like what you’ve been doing, but I LOVE this. Thanks for the work, and please keep it coming.
You got it! I'll get the next one ready as soon as I can!
I just found your guys' channel. Great stuff!
Thank you! Glad you found us.
this is a great example of how bonds ruled by fear in the 2000s. most guys didn’t even want to throw a pitch to him
Even the best pitchers chose their battles, which made Gagne vs Bonds incredibly exciting.
Barry’s Stats are crazy. Dude is the only player in a season to get walked more times than hitting a foul ball
People feared his power so much, it was legendary.
Great video. Would love to see more "Legends Collide". Are you still creating baseball content? Your stuff is really good man.
We are! Some real life events took away some of our time, but we still have a bunch of videos planned for the future.
not a huge baseball fan but this is quality content! keep it up bro
I appreciate that! I'll keep it going!
8 plate appearances between two GOATs is a bigger injustice for baseball than the steroids were--my hot take
it worked out well for me at least, retroactively speaking
@down bad dav most people are so dumb they think steroids make people invincible and stop them from ever getting injured

Really neat !!! More of this please !! Fascinating how you break down the bottom line stats and analyze the consequences of the plate appearances
There will be more of this! Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed this one!
Bonds got the best of Clemens. The two third strikes were clearly balls. And Clemens was otherwise too scared of Bonds to pitch to him.
All we have now are the results. Obviously if Clemens is getting a pitch that isn't a strike but is being called a strike, he'll take it.
@@BaseballAF 👍. I forgot to mention I love the concept!
@@dbdboerner Thanks!
Great idea, love it. Keep ‘em coming please.
Of course, more head to heads are already being figured out!
what a good fucking idea bro
Thanks dude! I'm glad it came across well!
Barry Bonds was 0-2 in his 2 ASG, those being 1998 and 2001, PA he had against Roger Clemens.
Good catch, didn't think to include the ASG
Thx. I was just wondering too
i loved this do more of them pls
We have more in the works!

That's why it's subjective! I thought it was due to the entirety of the influence Bonds was able to have with his presence.

I'll continue to do what I'm doing!
Gonna try and watch before my plane takes off if I don’t finish my comment before losing internet I hope you
