This has to be one of the greatest Fragrance videos on UA-cam. Not only does Aaron oozes knowledge but he also seems like a very cool person. Hope we get to see him again in this channel.
After watching so many videos about fragrances, I've come to my conclusion that if a perfume reviewer says something is boring, it almost means that most people would find that fragrance pleasant; if a reviewer says something is exciting, that is almost guaranteed to smell weird.
Aaron’s reaction to Carlisle is priceless. He’s the only reviewer I’ve ever seen who’s calling out the fact that Carlisle is really just 2 pdm frags thrown together in one bottle.
Aaron didn’t call out anything he just didn’t like it. PDM has said that Carlisle is influenced by several of their earlier fragrances. It’s not like it’s some major secret that needs to be called out. If you don’t like it that’s fine but reception is overwhelmingly positive.
I think it’s important to make a distinction that ‘niche’ does not mean quality or great. There are so many designer colognes that blow away niche and vice versa.

Crazy how much Aaron can pick out, his analysis is spot on. Absolutely loved watching this, the two of you together are possibly my favorite thing to watch and listen to. You're able to feed off of one another and it just works so well.

Can you spray Civet, Bat, or T-Rex for him? Let's see if we can figure out what a perfect 10 fragrance would be for him in the midst of this series.
This video is much better than the cheapie one since he didn't know what he was smelling before smelling them. I like that for one of them he even tried to guess the price range of the fragrance. I think it might have been nice to ask him to guess a price range for them all and then when revealing each fragrance, include the current price and how close he was. I also love the fact that he is up for this and not afraid to say it as he smells it.
I wan in one of the major retail stores whose main products are fragrances and a lady was shadowing me (already hate that) giving me tips on how to identify which scent I would like (another massive peeve) and she recommended against spraying it on the skin when I went to do it. She was explaining that instead of spraying it on my skin I should be doing some odd breathing maneuver before smelling it on the strip otherwise I would not know if I *really* like it. I was mind boggled.
Excellent video Chris! It was great to see a perfumer's honest assessments of well known fragrances. Looking forward to seeing more of these kind of videos!

Love his honesty! Would love to hear him do the house of creed to see if they are truly using high quality ingredients to try and justify their prices or do they use some synthetics as well.
For what it’s worth, I wasn’t impressed with Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme at first, but it truly is an excellent fragrance. Masterfully crafted and blended, very inviting, smooth, approachable fragrance. I really enjoy it and get a ton of compliments from the ladies when I wear it! Also, very versatile and one of my easiest to wear. Definitely boasts confidence. I have to get my nose on Tom Ford’s Oud Wood. I really like dirty, boozy, leathery fragrances like CH Men Prive and Juicy Couture’s Dirty English from back in the day so I’m sure I’d like Oud Wood.
I am a Frag Head and I buy only Niche Brands, I have 4 of the 6 Aaron rated, he surprised me with Carlise as that is one that when I wear I am getting mad compliments. Nevertheless, I love his honesty and unbiased assessment. I will be getting Oud Wood, and Roja Parfumes.
Excellent to see his views. He totally nailed the Chanel one, even down to the marketing! You can tell his experience is genuine and that he has considered a lot about what works in the fragrance world. I wonder what he would think of with more classic scents, but then again he loved Oud Wood, so maybe more classics wouldn't be the way to go. Great follow-up video, Chris! A video that would be interesting, I think, would be one around a prominent fragrance note (or a representing aromachemical) that he enjoys and giving him a test from a group of fragrances based on that central note profile, perhaps. If he likes citruses, for example, maybe find fragrances that are known for having a good, popular, overall citrus profile (maybe even through the mid-notes) and let him smell those. Citrus is kind of "general," but you understand what I'm saying. I'd like to see his impressions on how the fragrance world treats a beloved note that led him on his perfumery journey. :)
I LOVE Aaron’s outlook and viewpoint coming from his chemist background and also his personal likes and dislikes. When he nailed Chanel with just smelling it, that was incredible! I want to buy some of his fragrances now after hearing him talk about how he concocts them!
this was amazing ! Id like to hear from him talking about particular fragrances, doesnt need to be some top list. But would be great hear about what caught his eye/nose.
I saw on Facebook that you had posted a video with ATH and immediately came to your channel to view. Any video with the both of you is an instant thumbs up. More videos with him, please!
Great concept Chris. I would love to see more videos with him. Especially someone like him from the Science community...would be great to have him explain more of the science behind fragrance & how to discern different aspects about them.
I think Aaron's nose should be insured for like a £1million just incredible the way he can do what he does it's mesmerising. Great video again Chris 😊 and thanks for introducing Aaron and his fragrances to me at least. The single most shocking moment of this video is that Aaron is 45? No way we need what skin creams he uses next 😜
Perfect, perfect, perfect video!!! I really enjoy seeing again Aaron rating. So honest, absolutely straight to the point. I liked his rating on Channel Allure Homme Sport which I believe is overrated by the fragrance community. I hope you'll call him back. Thanks so much for this lovely video!!!
Great video and I enjoyed it and Aaron knows his stuff and I like Tom Ford oud wood and chanel allure homme sport eau extreme and I'm going to try the other fragrances and have a blessed day
Haha, what a legend. I do think he smelt Carlisle to early tho, I hate that citrusy bit at the start and have the same reaction to it, but after it drys down a bit it smells so creamy and delicious.
Yea and he said no longevity. One time I sprayed some on my jacket and could still smell where I sprayed it three weeks later. Bet I could go grab that jacket now and still smell it lol He kinda dropped the ball on that one to me. Still enjoyed his take on all the fragrances though.
Damn! He can pick out the Chanel fragrance. I think it is quite true because no matter what Chanel fragrance you smell, they have some identity in the back bone. Very pleasant for the mass but nothing that would blow me away.
One af the best videos so far. Aaron is a Mozart of perfumes. I like how a real trained nose analyzes each parfume from a perfumers view and gives a honest review. I would love to see him on a regular basis on your channel rating all those hyped perfumes. Maybe on each video he could analyze the most popular 5-10 perfumes of each perfume brand?
Absolutely love Aaron's perspective on these....Comes from a totally different perspective.....quite refreshing, and outside the typical reviewer box....love the addition of Aaron to some of these videos.....🍻
Aaron is such a lovely person and I love watching his take on it! I was thinking how much of his opinion is personal and how much is it because he is a perfumer and smelling aroma chemicals day in and day out. I would definitely love to see him again. What a cool guy...
I checked out Aaron's website, WOW. I can't wait until the sample set gets in stock. Attainable pricing too, definitely worth saving up for. Check it out, people.
I completely agree with him about CAHSEE. I really only have it in my rotation because it’s a people pleasing compliment magnet. I mean I do like it but it’s like ehh when I have other options.
Damn I love this guy. His passion and his descriptions of what he's smelling. AMAZING! Makes me wanna buy HIS fragrances because it lets me know how much work he puts in because he lets us know how he thinks, what he pays attention to in a fragrance etc. So I know now, that his creations must be spot on in every way. I'm blown away. Edit: Wanna know his top 10 Fragrances! ... I wonder...
I find Aaron such a sympatic person. Amazing how he was able to pinpoint each fragrance right down to the marketing conversations.
This was fabulous, like the last one!
Thanks Justin, filming these with Aaron is hugely enjoyable!
Brilliant brilliant series Chris, so interesting and definitely NOT BORING! 😂😂 can’t wait for another one ✊🏽
That's amazing, thanks Simon👍🏻
Amazing! This is great content! Having knowledgeable people speak about fragrances and their opinions in detail is so pleasant to watch.
Thank you 🙏
I LOVE Aaron’s outlook and viewpoint coming from his chemist background and also his personal likes and dislikes. When he nailed Chanel with just smelling it, that was incredible! I want to buy some of his fragrances now after hearing him talk about how he concocts them!
Yes I was suprised he did that!
this was amazing ! Id like to hear from him talking about particular fragrances, doesnt need to be some top list. But would be great hear about what caught his eye/nose.
Frag-mental: "I appreciate your candor and honesty"..
Aaron: "Your favorite fragance is pungent..can't stand it..🤢"
🤣🤣🤣
I saw on Facebook that you had posted a video with ATH and immediately came to your channel to view. Any video with the both of you is an instant thumbs up. More videos with him, please!
More on the way Josh. Thanks for stopping by.
Great concept Chris. I would love to see more videos with him. Especially someone like him from the Science community...would be great to have him explain more of the science behind fragrance & how to discern different aspects about them.
Thanks Omar, yes there's a lot we can learn from Aaron.
This was so much fun, very pleasant and informative to watch! Thank you, Chris! Love your channel!
Thanks for tuning in!
You're welcome mate. Aaron certainly looks after himself.
Great show lads, just glad you did not fall out especially when he rated Carlisle. Two great guys who I appreciate!
Thanks Anastasios, Aaron will be back soon!
More videos with Arron please love know he’s opinion about expensive fragrances like Tom Ford Kilian Roja... thanks Chris ! 🙏🏼👑
I'm very surprised he didn't get the "screaming" iris in the opening of Dior Homme! It is so so carroty and lipsticky!
Yeh me too
Yea and he said no longevity.
I stopped the video 3 times when I realized that the tingly sound comes from the background music, and not from outside 😀 great content btw!
Damn Chris! He killed me with Carlisle! That's my favorite fragrance I own! lol
Me too Dan!
@@FRAGMENTAL I bet he would like Kalan! lol All humor aside, I'd love to hear what he thinks about Habdan. I just ordered that one as well!
Just goes to show fragrance is subjective. Some like it, some dont. Love Carlisle.
@@gerrywilson9162 You're right, but I have to say everyone I know loves it when I wear Carlisle too! lol
@@danspanos Carlisle, layton.....absolute BANGERS. Pegasus....ok.
Absolutely love Aaron's perspective on these....Comes from a totally different perspective.....quite refreshing, and outside the typical reviewer box....love the addition of Aaron to some of these videos.....🍻
OMG this is really fun. Can you have Aaron smell women fragrance?
I love that idea!
Awww... he didn't get that thick Iris note in DHP, LOL🤣🤣🤣
Aaron is such a lovely person and I love watching his take on it! I was thinking how much of his opinion is personal and how much is it because he is a perfumer and smelling aroma chemicals day in and day out. I would definitely love to see him again. What a cool guy...
I feel Aaron was trying to do his best to balance both aspects of himself in rating the fragrances.
I checked out Aaron's website, WOW. I can't wait until the sample set gets in stock. Attainable pricing too, definitely worth saving up for. Check it out, people.
Agree. I am waiting on the Discovery Set as well. Via email exchange with ATH he has mentioned this will be in stock this month, so keep an eye out!
Brilliant, brilliant video. Honesty from an expert is a dream to see, love this!
So glad you enjoyed it my friend.
Edit: Wanna know his top 10 Fragrances! ... I wonder...
You're absolutely right, but keep in mind that doesn't mean you're going to like his fragrances.
All his fragrances are sold out
Wait a minute...
😂 I've never seen anyone with the same political score as me
@@rakuu9843 Me neither and I also never thought that if the day comes... It would be in a frangrance video :D
@@ColoSon haha small world 😂 fragrances might be the key to world peace it seems
Brilliant..you gentleman are my reference in your evaluation of niche fragrances! Thank you for sharing your expertise!
We did ask for more Aaron Terence Hughes and you provided it! He has an incredible nose and I thoroughly enjoyed this video.
Amazing video. Fantastic concept. Great job. More please !!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish he would rate Steven's Navitus Parfums line.
That would be interesting
Yeah, me too. That would be a great one!👌
Without him knowing it’s Stevens fragrances so all influence are out the window
@@FRAGMENTAL He should rate Jeremy's, Steven's and Mr Smelly fragrances next! It would be a very interesting video
This guy is a king or queen, could watch him for hours !!!
I'm curious to see his favorite fragrances
probably his own brand lol
I find Aaron such a sympatic person. He has great, calm vibes, I like your videos with him :) However I am surprised that he did not even heard about Parfums de Marley especially because it's one of my favourite perfume house. I would also be happy to watch a video about his favourite sexy filthy fragrances it sounds quite interesting.
Thanks Roberta 🙏
Wow I love this guy he’s so clever haha! And another great video from FM. I’d be interested to smell his own fragrances
Thanks Mark. Aaron has some amazing scents!
Loved this one! A very blatant but refreshingly honest approach to fragrance review. Is just sad this video was created more than 3 years ago and I just found it.
