- A few captures of the 6th St.bridge before it's gone.
Footage taken on February 7th 2016 which marks the beginning of the demolition process.
The 101 fwy was closed to remove the 1st section of the bridge. "SlowJam" but the rest of the project will take 2.5 yrs.
The reason for replacing the bridge with a new one is, that It is Spalding. The concrete is crumbling and becoming a concern with it's ability to withstand an earthquake.
Constructed in 1932 it is now 84 years old.
It is 1 of 14 other historic bridges that cross the L.A. Viaduct but this one bridge was made famous by being in countless movies, television shows, music videos, commercials and all kinds of photo shoots.
In fact,
While we were flying, a production co. was filming a "Grease Jr." spin off under the bridge. Soon to be playing in a theater near you. lol
There is always something happening here or close by.
The new bridge will be finished in 2019 and will have many new stories to tell with it's beautiful new stylish arches and parks located beneath it.

BD this one is over the top, the editing is totally awesome. Inspires me to keep trying to edit better and better. Cheers from Sint Maarten.

Thank you so much for your kind comments. I appreciate the pats on the back.
It's the motivation I need to keep the creative juices flowing.
Your channel has an enormous amount of quality content and inspiration as well.
I watch it just like you watch mine. One of these days we need to fly together for a collab video.
Our styles mixed together for a one of a kind edit.
Till then, may the skies blue, waters clear and temps mild.
it will be missed but now we have an offspring with improvements. Great shots for historical references and archives.
Great video man! It was such a beautiful bridge and it's really sad, that I've never seen him live.. :( I'm from Czech Republic, Europe.. I'm going to L.A. next year. I didn't know that 6th St. Bridge is gone now..

I don't know what is left of the old bridge but your comment sparked my interest to find out how it's coming along.
Maybe I should revisit it.
bdseidler That's will be great.
Very cool! This is a great way to capture perhaps the before and after the project is completed! Granted, it might be a while! Awesome footage!
+Flashwing Yeah I was thinking the same thing.
I wonder what I'll be flying then? lol
Thx for check'n it FW
Great cinematography!
+Bigbuddyandblue Thx Man
Wow! So cool video!! So sad for the old historical bridge ! I was thinking on flying my mini there !!!
Thx man. it was a cool capture.
I say yes to flying the mini there. If u do....please send me the link. I know a bunch of people that would like to see that.
... catching this beautiful old bright before it's blow away in this beautiful footage for the descendants is a great idea bd :-) ... love the scene where your logo is on the wagons :-)
Thx Paul,
1 last capture before it's gone. We tried an assortment of unique captures and they came together nicely in this edit.
After everything is said and done, we will go back and film the new bridge in all its glory. I wonder what I will be flying then? lol
Youhouu! That was so beautiful super BD :)
You did a great job despite the powerlines madness!
1:04 This is just awesome! What a such fantastic sequence you made there
Thank you very much Cedric. I always look forward to what you have to say.
Seeking approval from my peers is one of the many things that drive me towards perfection.
We as amateurs doing these beautiful things on a shoestring budget compared to the professionals with deap pocket budgets.
A special thanks to Craig with Xwermx. He contributed his Phantom footage towards this edit.
We have flown together just practicing many times and on a few projects like this. Just a different perspective to add to the mix.
Thx again and have a great week from Team bd.
Beautiful
Thank you Gustavo🙏👍
awesome work...
Thx Rand.
Awesome Collaboration !!!
& excellent effort to capture this footage prior to the demo.
;)
Sweet mix for share
Thx D man.
It's kind of like riding with a buddy instead of riding by yourself. Things just seem better. Plus having a copilot gives u a bit more confidence to bring it in close because he's got your back.
This way u can concentrate on the task at hand instead of what u have to look out for.
Those wires were right where we wanted to b. lol
Great Captures. looking forward to seeing the finished bridge in 2019.
Thx Chris.
Id like to go back and film the new one when it is finished. I could splice old and new footage together in a nice edit.
Wow I don't realize how bid the bridge was till I saw this videos wow looks cool
Thx for the view and comment. Very much appreciated.
It looks even bigger when standing underneath it.
Nice flying there my friend, looks like a fantastic place to fly, lots of wide open space but then still lots of interesting subject matter to shoot. ToP Job here buddy (0:
+Jax Teller RC Thank you Jax, I appreciate the high marks.
I didn't know if you were kidding about wide open spaces or not.
You didn't see all those wires? It was like flying in a box sept you couldn't see the walls.
bdseidler
Ha ha, yeah I saw all the wires but they did look quite far apart, but your an FPVer so I suppose it would be scary in that situation (-;
Wow this is very nice I like.the sky is so blue.everything is beautiful wow👍🏿👍🏿💕💕💕💕💕I have subscribed please keep it up
+Creativeflaviagro Thx man, I appreciate the view and comment.
Thx for the sub as well. I'll try to keep the good stuff coming.

I have some Tarot 650's that's begging to get out!!
+XB I'll shoot u a text I'm a little bit.
I just noticed our names on the trains.
should've made yours white.
what a nightmare spider web of overhead cables!! was that the new model at the end??? fugly...but that beautiful concrete river needs a partner...heh
Anyone could hover at 100ft above them wires but we wanted to bring it in close.
Thx for check'n it and leaving a comment.
Great video as always, wish I would've know you were in the area I would've brought you something to eat from the hood. LOL
Darn. Maybe next time.
I plan on coming back when it's finished.
I think u were the one who told me about the bridge years ago. lol Finally got around to it. I think what held me back was that there were lots of wires but not scared anymore.
Thx for check'n it and leaving a comment.
Appreciate it. bd
yes I was, I'm you came and made a video.
I never did, This was my 1st time filming and edit.
But I do remember u from way back with my snake videos
Why is there what appears to be plastic wrap taped over openings in the structure?
I believe that it was used to capture dust and small debris from when they stripped the asphalt.
This was shot on the weekend when are they started the first segment of demolition
+bdseidler thanks!
pigeons and powerlines.
Pigeons weren't a big deal but those wires made the big Sky pretty conjested.
They were everywhere we wanted to b.
