if you really get into it you are going to need a much bigger net. i don't know about arizona fishing but in michigan my net is 29" by 34". bluegill heads work well, cut sucker, cut carp you get the idea. good luck in your fishing. it looks like you enjoy it and that's all that matters.
Thanks so much for the advice! I actually do have a bigger net that I usually use for carp, but I've been bringing it lately for catfish as well. Cut bluegill works great for me too! Caught my PB with a cut bluegill head! I have some other videos using cut bait if you want to check them out!

get you a 5/0 circle hook and some shad, mullet, or bluegill as cut bait and if they are there you will be on them like butter on hotcakes I use a carolina rig and instead only using egg sinkers I use sinker slide then I can add whatever weight I want you will catch anywhere from 3 - 30 pound cats
Awesome, thanks for the info! I definitely plan on using cut bait in the future. I've tried circle hooks before, I just didn't have the best luck with them. I'm sure I'll get a hang of them with some more practice!
@@ZonaFishingDudethe key is don’t set the hook. When you see a bit you have to wait for them to swim so the hook turn in the right spot then you give a couple firm pulls to make sure it’s past the barb and you are golden so just just let them enjoy it until they bend the rod
@GProsperity Gotcha. Yea, I'm aware not to set the hook with circles, I think I was just a bit to antsy and reeled in before the fish fully ate the bait.
@ZonaFishingDude - I freeze several packs of red frank for 24 hours or any .99 cent hotdog and fish it normally with no jello mix or kool-aid on the bottom. Freezing the hotdog is key to keeping it on the hook.
@ZonaFishingDude - I figured you were fishing vets oasis. Have you used fresh chicken liver? I usually wrap mine with fishing thread using a 3/0 bait holder hook from Eagle Claw.
@JThomp365 For sure, I've tried chicken liver but didn't have any luck but seen a ton of people have success with it. My go-to baits are usually Stryker Punch Bait, garlic shrimp, and live/cut bluegill. Was just back at Vets Oasis the other day and got skunked haha! Haven't been having too much luck so far this season.
Heck yeah dude! When I caught my first catfish I was so pumped! Tight lines bro👊
Thanks so much! 🙏👊
Me and my son just started fishing in April, can’t believe I’ve been missing out on this for so long. Good luck out there buddy!
Thank you so much! That is awesome! Good luck to you and your son as well!
Beautiful area! Nice video
Thanks so much! 🙏👊
@@ZonaFishingDude you are very welcome
I use Stryker Bait all the time, never fails. Best catfish bait I’ve ever used.
Awesome! I just got myself a half gallon of the bravo garlic!
I agree. Stryker Bait seems to be the ticket in Urban Lakes. Shout out to JD & the Stryker Bait team for a perfect punch bait.
Heck yeah man! ive never caught one myself looks like fun!
Catfishing is a blast!

@@ZonaFishingDude trust me dude it took idk a couple years of doing that and using too big of hooks then I realized it was me most of the time lol
@@GProsperity I finally had some success with circle hooks! Check out my video dropping tomorrow!
just soak hotdogs in jello, never fails and never stinks lol

Thank you!
How much time did it take to get all those fish?
I think I was there for about 3 hours.
What urban lake are we fishing?

It's probably one of my favorite times of the year in Arizona.
You can't go wrong with Stryker Bait.
100% agree!
You need to let more line out when you cast 🤦🏻♂️
