They had a RV they took wherever the job was. My parents let me stay with them in the RV park near the beach in C.C. for a week. While my Uncle Larry was working my Aunt Kitty (her name was Catherine, but everybody called her Kitty) took me on adventures. We had a lot of fun. We caught crabs in one of those collapsible nets, a bucket full and took them back to the RV and boiled them. We collected a lot of cool shells, and met nice and interesting people in the RV Park. Good memories for me. This video took me back in time; so, thank you Dennis.

Great beach back in the '60s and early '70s. I see it's full of hotels and restaurants now. Was bound to happen. Same thing in San Diego. Great sunrises at SPI. Great sunsets at San Diego.
Good Morning Dennis...This is superb tour of Whitecap Beach in North Padre Island. Last year, we stayed at a house on Whitecap on the land side of the street. I think you went left on Whitecap off the SPID and Park Road 22W toward the beach. We went right to the house. There were 8 adults and 2 kids staying at a week rental. Everyone enjoyed the beach with its showers and bathrooms over by the main parking area. This year we are booked to stay in Rockport! YEAH!

We missed visiting Mustang Island at Christmas 2022 due to the bad weather that postponed our trip 😭 Our family did visit South Padre for Spring Break 2023 though and we LOVED seeing our first Texas beach! Rode 🐎 on the ⛱️. Planning a makeup trip for Christmas 2023! They have a really neat outdoor Church that we are excited about visiting, Saint Andrew by the Sea. Blessings from Iowa!

Hey Drew. Good morning buddy. It's very nice place to spend a few hours. It was a bit crowded because big sections of the beach where undrivable for most vehicles so everyone was kind of crowded in. Usually it's pretty laid-back there and wide-open. I hope you're having a good day buddy.

Good morning Thelma. Lots of Sargasm seaweed on the beach. I kind of like it. The friends that I meet on the beach just carry a small rake and we clear a spot and set up the beach blankets. Lots of dogs on the beach which is awesome. People probably thought I was filming the girl. Nope.

You could kind of see the remains of Bob Hall Pier in two of the shots. The road leading directly to it had a lot of loose sand on it and I didn't feel like getting stuck. I know there's plans to restore it so hopefully they can get that done. I hope you're doing well friend.
Bob Hall Pier is no more! All that's left is the old restaurant. CCTX is in the planning stage for a new pier. The news says it will be a little over 20 feet wide, but didn't say how far into the gulf it would go. Whitecap Beach is a lot better although it is crowded on weekends (DAAAH). The main parking area has showers and a handicap ramp for us old guys!

Hello friend. There is seaweed in Port Aransas. As well. This is about 35 miles away on Padre Island and it does seem denser here but I believe that's just because the roadway is much narrower.
