- Опубліковано 4 чер 2024
- In today's video we launch the Hobie Outback and fish around spoil islands located in Corpus Christi, TX for Redfish and Speckled Trout using topwater lures, spoons, and soft plastic lures. I was born and raised there. Taking out the swing bridge and going a full bridge over the channel made it so nice. I remember waiting HOURS to get out to the beaches, and coming back.
Sounds like good times right there
@@Jacemang_Outdoors THE peak of my life, was living there. Then the oilfield move me to East Texas
I hear ya, gotta go where life takes you!@@426superbee4
@@Jacemang_Outdoors yep as much as i hated to leave // Its was Hurricane Alice.. That scared us. packing 400 mph gal winds / That missed us, and wiped out CAMPEACHY MEXICO... I think. Every one, left out from that storm

First video that I’ve watched from you. Great fishing and great quality.
Appreciate that. Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome intro with drone footage, and topwater bite is always exciting. Lots of activity around that particular area. Great video keep them coming! 💪👍
Topwater is definitely where its at. Thanks buddy!
I agree with Oscar
@@larasfishingchronicles9301 haha thanks buddy!
Because it smells like poop around there
@@surreal75yt32 Ive never noticed it personally. Just smells like saltwater and open air to me, love it.

Thanks, glad you liked the video.
Man great video buddy, born and raised in the 361. I miss fishing all the time as a little boy, my old man and myself fished every weekend for years .. I no longer live in corpus but watching your video brings back good memories fun times man!
Thanks. I appreciate that. I hear ya, I definitely enjoy getting out when I can. Its a beautiful fishery.
Wow. Surprised a guy who raises land sharks actually knows who his father is.
WOW THIS GUY!!What does any breed of animal have anything to do with one knowing or not knowing his father … you gotta be the dumbest dude alive or just straight up ignorant assuming that.. you probably couldn’t even afford one of my American Bullies or Cane Corsos
Or maybe you have Daddy issues . Maybe your insecure not knowing who your father is 😅
@@bullytitanskennel1193 “you’re”. It’s a contraction not a possessive adjective. My father was a literate man.
Howdy. Awesome area.. I live right there in flower bluff.. Fished alot right there in that area.. I sure miss fishing..
Great area to live and close access to a great fishery.
This is the best intro I've seen!! 💯 First time seeing one of your videos, and just subscribed!! Can't wait to see more content!! 🎣
I definitely appreciate it. Glad you enjoyed the video. Welcome to the channel.
Another great video in the bag for sure wish I brought my kayak last weekend when I was in TX
Thanks buddy. If youre ever out this way, let me know. I have an extra yak.
Great video buddy. Keep them coming
Thanks, will do!
The editing and music during the intro got me fired up duder. Subbed.
Glad you liked it. Thanks
Love the video but I had to turn down the music.....sounded like a scary movie instead of fishin.
That logo is looking sharp. Great video as always.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it!
Definitely loving the footage from the drone, awesome show.
Thanks 👍
New subscriber from south Texas,
Thank you for your service, awesome intro, nice red the sound of that drag nice… tight lines ✌️🎣
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the video. Drag is definitely one of the best sounds in the morning.
Great content jace, keep em coming👏
Thank you. Will definitely try!
First time here, great content brotha. Also, what an intro! Keep grinding
Hey thanks! Welcome to the channel, thanks for watching. Hope to get back out again soon.
I know every fishing hole from Brownville Tx up to Louisiana > The best 2 colors to use was? Yellow and White.. In Speck Rigs, and Red Fish Rigs.. We always carry a casting nets for, live bait. Finger Mullet or Live Shrimp
I hear ya! Ill throw the net from the kayak occasionally, but majority of time I throw artificial.
@@Jacemang_Outdoors Wears Your arm out. he hee Live bait > They hit it just about when it hit the water.. Every thing must be perfect; Under lights at night is best. On a High Tide as well is the best. The school fish must be hungry. On low tides is party time. or sleeping. Cause there not going to bite. Cause there not there . Time i like to fish Right when the tide is coming in up to time its leaving. Then its time for me to go! Tides play the major rolls> for fishing in the Gulf of Mexico 👉👉 Different Months different schools of fish come in and leave. Knowing the time of month and spots is another key to fishing the Gulf of Mexico.. The next key is having the right bait for the fish you want. Most game fish will hit the Specks Rigs, Life Mullet, and Live Shrimp. Depending on what you want to caught. Golden Drum is a Dec. Jan school fish and 1/2 of a dead crab is used. ect ect and so on
I'm taking my Big brother fishing for the first time this Saturday in Corpus christi Any suggestions
@@TestifyTalk360 Fishing from shore, kayak, boat?
@@TestifyTalk360 fish on a high tide. use live bait like shrimp or finger mullet, 2nd best bait is spec rigs, red fish rigs. There yellow and white in color > Signs of where the fish is? Follow where the birds are. Piers, jetty, and boats is the best way. / Have a bless fun day
Great catch my brother nice 👍
Thank you!
We fish all weekend jetty's packery channel. I need to find a place to kayak fish over there. 🙂
@@edwardreyes9314jetties can get chaotic for sure
Great video! Enjoyed it.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
1st time seeing your channel. Visiting from Houston. Looking and researching where to go round here.
Cool. Its hard to go wrong anywhere on Laguna. Great fishery.
Good vid, Good opening camera work, good fishing, Couldn't quite tell where you were, from the poles I'm guessing Boat Hole area. Good fishing. Shame Legal Limits have made fishing very costly.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. I hear ya on the limits. Real downer for folks that travel to the coast for meat hauls. I must admit it doesnt effect me much personally, I usually catch and release, keep a few when I want fresh fish.
Great video. Wish I had time to get out there.
Thanks. I wish I had more time to be out there! 🤣
Great video! Subscribed. Heres to your success, bud. Cheers.
Much appreciated!
hell yea.. fun fun
Yessir!
Great video!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks buddy!
Great video Love! ❤
Thank you!
Clem's is my happy spot.
Haha, I hear ya!
Aqua Dream for the win.
Yea, I like to throw different brands. Not sure which style I prefer aquas or conventional teardrop style. They probably all work. Do you have a go-to?
@@Jacemang_Outdoors
Copper Aqua Dream. Other brands fail at the solder to the hook. Never again....
intro alone got the sub, video is great keep it up youre gonna be big
Thanks!
Can't wait to get down there and do some fishing this summer
I hear ya! I live in the area and always want to get out. Where are you coming down from?
I'm coming from Houston Texas
Thanks for sharing beautiful views, question, what was the deepest water your kayak was floating through. Thanks and God Bless.
Thanks! Maybe 3 feet, Laguna is pretty shallow.
Nice work man! 💪🎣🐟💯🔥
Appreciate it!!
Man we need to drive down and do some fishing!
I never regret time spent on the water
Awesome Vid Bro!🤙
Thanks, definitely appreciate that!
Awesome video how about some sheepshead fishing I'm from Laredo i like going out to Corpus and Port Aransas to do some fishing probably going out in a week or two for some sheepshead and drums
Thanks. Yea I may have to hit some sheeps soon, theyre a blast for sure.
Great drone footage
Thanks 👍
Digging the new intros
Thanks buddy!
Great video man about how many miles did you paddle out to pass the poles?
Thanks. Not sure exactly, I cover alot of water typically. Sometimes Ill work the spoil islands until I find activity. The fish move from day to day but theyre usually hanging around the vicinity.
Dang I need to get my butt down there. Haven't been to the coast in 4yrs and I'm only 2hrs away.🤷♂
Do it! I definitely enjoy it. I meet folks that come down from San Antonio area all the time.
I live on the island. Great edit.
Island life, very nice. Thanks, glad you enjoyed the content.
Iam surprised CK still has fish 🔥...So polluted 🙏
Its a great fishery. I havent seen or heard of any pollution problems personally.
Solid fish man!! Nothing like topwater bite! I’ve been striking out recently on the laguna. 😢 Need to get on some fish
Thanks buddy. Its been hit or miss with this crazy weather but when its on it makes for a great day.
Mee too!!!
@@larasfishingchronicles9301 Where are all the fish Lara?? 😂
New intro? Love the intro J!
Thanks buddy
I felt like I’ve heard that seagull before
His name is Fred
Great video! If you don’t mind me asking, is that near Kate’s hole or Boat hole?
Thanks. Yea, spoil islands North Laguna.
Awesome video! You almost got a bird on that top water. That’s one of my fears when they start coming close by my bait. Been catching many flounder over that way?
Thanks buddy. Haha yea birds will definitely grab it. Ive snagged em before, plus side is you know youre workin the lure right when birds think its real. Not many flounder, bi-catch when chasing reds and trout but dont focus them often.
Great video, new subscriber here so fish on amigo:)
Thanks!
Nice footage. Where did you launch from?
Thank you. Causeway
Nice fish they are missing the most important part. Cornmeal and peanut oil
Haha true! Ill keep a few when I want fresh fish. Most of the time I just like to feel a tight line.
Where do you launch 🚀 from awesome videos 👍🏽
JFK causeway
How deep (or shallow) is that water you're fishing in?
Around 3 feet. Laguna Madre is shallow.
@@Jacemang_Outdoors Thanks. Only asking because I may head down from San Antonio and give it a try.
***Looks like the shot in the opening of the vid is close to Doc's? Is that accurate?
@@A5JDZK Nice, yea worth a trip down for sure. Laguna is heating up.
Nice catch! What are spoils?
Thanks. Spoil islands are produced by discarding land mass in areas from dredging. After a while they see growth and form micro habitats that attract wildlife.
@@Jacemang_Outdoors thank you very much!
@@hectorrendon5313 Anytime
New to area. Where is this at? What spoiled island ? Is this north of Kennedy bridge ! Please help!
Welcome. Fairly new to area myself. Upper Laguna near JFK bridge
@@Jacemang_Outdoors North or south of bridge?
What’s the rod and reel combo?
Lews Mach 2 spinning reel on Daiwa medium fast action rod and Lews Baitcaster on Castaway medium fast action rod.
Is this the area also called shamrock cove?
North Laguna yea
@@Jacemang_Outdoors thanks. I grew up in kingsville and lived in corpus as well. I use to wade there all the time. I’ll be down in July and wanna get my yak in there.
@@CryoPreservationAustin heck yea man. Water clarity should be great by then. Its been a bit off color.
How many trout can u keep
3 right now. Seems like TX regs change often.
And next week they’ll be 30 kayak fisherman in your fishing spot
I dont have "spots" I work areas. Fish are never in the exact same places. Youre right though, Owners tourney will bring in alot more than 30 kayakers to that area. That leaves alot of other places up for grabs 😉
You had 3 seasons in one morning
If not more, my first spring actually living in South TX. To say spring patterns are unpredictable would be an understatement.
Any good for a jet ski ?
Good on any vessel if you employ it correctly
to think this is literally about 5 minutes from me and I'm not out there. SMH
Haha, I always wish I was out there.
Yo giving away our fishing spots 🤦♂️ 🫤
"Our" spots? Im not a spot fisherman as fish move constantly. Id encourage any viewer to fish the conditions, each day on the water is unique, thats the beauty of our sport.
"Our fishing spots" ? You dont own them. I dont remember Jesus keeping his "fishing spots" secret either. Ponder on that.....
Heres an idea! Lets put a super long nonsense into and add the most annoying music ever to make people leave the vid...and piss them off enough to leave a comment.
YES GREAT IDEA!
Sorry you didnt enjoy, naturally there are variances in what music types appeal to a large audience. I've received positive feedback from the majority. Any thoughts toward an empirical solution on how to potentially improve future videos? Appreciate the feedback and thanks for watching.
No need to take your crappy day out on other people lol. Intro probably took a long time to edit and get just right. Looked good to me.
@@Heroish17 Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!

i would appreciate some catch and cook action.
Ive had several people request a C&C, did one a couple videos before, didnt perform great. Not that, thats my primary driver. Ill look to do one in the future.
