Grubby i don't usually comment on videos but this one brought a smile to my face. When i was a kid i started with WC3, and then after getting to high school switched to Dota (i am 24y old now btw). Love both of the games and i will definitely support this type of videos. Huge love from Serbia!
I also started playing WC3/FT as a kid and learned to play DOTA at high school. Never touched DOTA 2 or any other games similar to DOTA for personal reasons. It makes me happy that DOTA is getting the love it deserves. Thank you sir o7
There are so many people in the Dota scene who adore you. I would love to see a colab between you and Purge, Fear, Lacoste or the dozen others who watch your WC3 content. The player base can be super toxic but it can be super fun and rewarding getting into it. Thanks as always for all the content, Grubby + Dota is something I couldn't miss out on.
As a person who spent like 12 years playing Dota, I'm so surprised how good the general new player experience is, taking in consideration the crazy amount of knowledge in the game. And you are doing great!
Crazy amount of knowledge I have to agree... when I tried teaching my friends and cousins', they were overwhelmed. I've been playing DotA since I was like 9 (I'm 28 now lol). I know every item + hero, etc.
It is a massive learning curve to say the least. Just think about it, even playing through every hero once in the game requires like a hundred games. Also the heroes are much more distinct than they were in the old WC3 dota days, where a lot of heroes had skills that were carbon copies from WC3 heroes.
This brings me tears. I started playing Dota around 2005/2006, and before that, I had been watching and learning from tons of your replays as an Orc player. It feels ... nostalgically binding.
Oh yeah dota 2 is known for its lovable and non-toxic community all over the world. Everyone knows Dota 2 has the most communicative and well-behaved players of any game. Now read what i just typed in the opposite.

Really fascinating to watch - similar to you, I only tried Dota 2 after playing HotS for years starting in beta. I've played both games about equally at this point and I like how they each offer something unique in the MOBA genre. I enjoy the fast-paced teamfight focus of HotS with some really creative heroes like Abathur and Cho'Gall, while the strategic mechanics in DotA can get pretty crazy when used their full potential (especially in pro play).
