    Just in case no one else answered this. There is a magazine block activated when the take down leaver is in the "release" position. Further, when a magazine is in place, this same block stops the take down leaver from being fully released. These are safety features designed to "force" a safety check prior to attempting to removing the slide. Additionally you can NOT rotate the take down leaver (either direction) unless the slide lock is activated, in other words, you can not quickly slide and rotate at the same time. Another feature is that there is no need to pull the trigger to release the slide.

    I think it's because the slide takedown lever was still in the takedown position. If you would have flipped it up. I'm almost certain it would have let the magazine go in

    • @zaitcev0

      Precisely. The interfering linkage is responsible for not needing to pull the trigger when disassembling.

    • @HuyTran-sk3py

      Correct. Same reason you will not be able to flip the takedown lever with a mag in.

  • @barrystarr22
    @barrystarr22 3 роки тому +1

    As you were getting started I was looking at disassembly of my P365 Romeo Zero and it will not disassemble with your mag in, of coarse you wouldn't want to do that anyways but just wanted to see if you could. Great job Sig on making it a no go. Looking down the magazine holder the rear of the magazine has a part that shifts forward when the pistol is disassembled so you can't put a mag in and it also keeps you from being able to disassemble with the mag in place.

    The XL does have some appealing features, but I'll stick with my basic 365 for CCW. If I want extra capacity, I'll just use one of my 12 round mags for it... Best option for me is a 10 round mag loaded and a spare 12 round mag in my pocket.

  • @vincek6613
    @vincek6613 4 роки тому +6

    I believe the mags don't go in if the take down lever is in the down position. Probably a safety feature for the careless types who don't clear their gun before inspection or cleaning

    • @fsend9191
      @fsend9191 2 роки тому

      I can confirm this. You also cannot push the takedown lever down all the way with a mag in it. So you can’t remove the slide with a mag in it.

    • @mikebohl2580

    Just got an XL, can't wait to take it to the range. My hands are about medium size, standard 365 handle is too small but the XL is perfect.

    Put the 15 round mags in the P365XL if you want the grip longer. That's why there's 2 different sets of baseplates. Now I've noticed the triggers are all over the place. Mine is great, but the other two I've tried have been noticeably different.
    Ok. I see what's hitting the mag. The takedown lever. It moves out of the way when the slide is back on.

    Vortex Viper VP-6 fits it. More of a middle of the road sight priced at around $250 to $325. Only a couple hundred bucks cheaper than a trijicon brand sight. Comes with a 6 MOA red dot and holds zero well from my experience. Just don't drop it. I shattered mine and had to warranty it. Whoops. Vortex offers a lifetime warranty though so it's pretty easy to get a replacement.

    Good review. My own personal experience is I tend to shoot low and left but it's me not the gun. One thing I did notice my first 50 rds of cheap American Eagle 115 FMJ is that the the brass bullet coating on 2 of the rds was stripped off (a small piece) and ejected with the empty cartridge.
    As of yesterday I have about 400 rds through the gun with no failures and no more stripped bullet brass. Anyone else experience this?

    At the risk of being denounced as a Nutnfancy disciple, I'm not seeing the POU of the XL. In my own twisted, narrow and small thinking, the P365s claim to fame is small size and concealability. I'm a SIG guy. I have P320s in most of the available flavors. Which competitive product is this aimed at?

      @benjaminponzer4448 4 роки тому +1

      The grip is not the gun so you can get that aftermarket. I doubt enough people will want 1913 on it to make that a thing. My xl has around a 3 lb trigger, and as long as you pull the trigger like you would in training, competition, or defense it is pretty crisp. The little squish you feel ghosting it at the store isn't there if you just pull the trigger.
