Here she is to break down what you need to know about the Jewish holiday, Yom Kippur.
So what is Yom Kippur? Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement, traditionally is one of the most somber days on the calendar. On this day, Jews ask forgiveness for the wrong they have committed over the past year. It’s famous for fasting, repentance and refraining from other bodily pleasures. Or as Mayim Biliak says, “Yom Kippur comes in like a wrecking ball that comes in and takes away your food, and your sex, and your awesome leather shoes.” Also, you can’t moisturize. And to this day, truth be told, most Jews would rather barf then lead anyone to repentance. Sad, but true!

Yes. Well, I am not wearing all white. Didn't hear about that part! But, I have fasted. I have a toddler to take care of all day. But, I am doing okay. Actually this is one day. What do you say on or before Jom Kippur? Like a greeting or something. I'd like to know what to tell my Jewish friend.
The more traditional will say " gmar hatima tova" - that mean May you be signed and sealed in the book of life, the less trditional say is "zom moyil" that mean Helpful fasting

2:41, Tisha B'Av (the ninth of the month of Av) is our day of mourning. Yom Kippur is not, it's our Day of Judgement.
Personally, I find being in a synagogue on this day very uplifting and hearing everyone sing together gives me chills.
I think she's referring to Yizkhor.
@@Aboz still wouldn't call the whole day then, Day of Mourning. We certainly don't call other (happy) chagim Days of Mourning because we say yizkor.🤷🏼♀️

Are not your DOC MARTENS made of PLEATHER? Even thou you wore those leather, MAROON colored DOC MARTENS to YANKEE STADIUM a few years back(I guess you keep them for sentimental reasons, so they have been grandfathered into your shoe inventory) you said you no longer wear leather ANYTHING as part of your VEGAN LIFESTYLE.
