Super cool. How many amps is that charger? Looks super clean. I might not hook up that communication port as it doesn't look like a marine waterproof connection and you already have Bluetooth. Did they give you this battery or did you buy it?
The charger is 15 amp, the battery is a demo supplied by Epoch, so there no purchase. After seeing what I've seen, i would definitely purchase. Luckily, these days, a perk I get for building the channel and other social media pages is sponsorships, demos, and some cool free stuff.
I reinstalled the red kill because mine is actually a "keyed" one as in the red dial actually pulls off when in the off position. This prevents any power passing through even if the battery button is turned on. The only reason I have this is to prevent my son from playing inside my boat turning on all the lights! lol. Basically I remove the dial and power can no longer be turned on.
You said in the video you ran your 12v trolling motor and electronics for 4 hours. Do you think the 100amp would be enough if I am running 2 12v trolling motors and a basic depth finder on a Jon boat?
Probably not. I used the trolling motor fishing for 4 hrs, not continuous run time or even max speed full throttle. I'm assuming you wanna run 2 transom trolling motors? or one transom, one front. Problem is wide open they draw around 50 amps which will only give you 2 hrs full throttle run time if you divide max amps pulled into amp hours of battery. You might be able to get away with one, it willdepend how often you use the motors and at what amp draw.
Love your trolling motor battery setup. Everything you build is so freaking clean!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks man, appreciate you always giving feedback and support 👊

Does the battery on/off negate the need for the big, red, clunky on/off rotating dial?
I bet it's just to turn off the Bluetooth and other communication that might draw down power.

How do you prevent interference on your fish finder when you run your electric/trolling motor on the same battery?
Case by case basis. 100ah lithium, smaller 7sv graph, 12v trolling motor, I have no issues. The EPOCH battery output probably plays a role.
Good video!
Thank you

I'm sure the case is bigger because of the better BMS, Bluetooth receiver, cut off switch, and I thought you said it had an internal heater.
That's right, probably makes sense. It does have heating, wish Iwould have mentioned thatagain, great feature for cold weather!
Was that price for the trolling motor just a sale price for your local Walmart or is that currently nation wide ?
That was just a deal they ran at that one location, they sold out in an hour but i lucked out and got the last one
I am selling my Jon boat and want to advertise it on Tiny Boat Nation. Can anyone help with advice? Thanks
