    hows the one big boy- he loooks at the dead bait , turns and laughs. thanks for the great underwater feeding habit shots. as you can see the fish are semi selective, that big monster must have been hungry.

    Glad it was a catch and release. PEI is their new found feeding ground. They suddenly appeared in droves there after being absent there for 30 years or so. They are so plentiful and hungry that they literally hand feed them herring off the boat. Take care of this beautiful fish.

    • @corbfisher4293
      @corbfisher4293 9 років тому +3

      Yeah, nice on the release. Also, very few of these fish die on release. They are usually caught fairly quickly and released in good condition. An exception would be if you have a deep hooked bleeder, which is why most of these guys use circle hooks if they are planning to release the fish.

    • @doctoredable
      @doctoredable 9 років тому +2

      Ok "my bad" as they say. Using very heavy tackle and a very large circle hook does enable relatively quick bringing the fish to the boat without undue stress on the fish. The large circle hook will usually result in a "mouth hookup" without causing bleeding. The guys did a great job of releasing this fish.

During meal we speak words of wisdom to elevate spark or energy concealed in the fish. By using this energy for righteous purpose the animal soul is elevated to a higher spiritual dimension. Make me laugh selfish sport fishing. U need education and go out of ur selfish ways

    PEI is hard to bet as far as granders go. That's a big fish.
    I live in coastal NC and for anyone who doesn't know a fishable population was
    " discovered" maybe 20 - 25 years ago of bluefin tuna. No one knows if they had been migrating here or for how long.
    Seems to reason they had not been showing up here that.long because a lot of.times th1ey are caught withing site of the beach feeding on menhaden. I can't recall a 1000 lb er caught ( It's probably happened and I didn't know) but many 600 - 800 are landed. It's a very controlled fishery and each year a weight quota is issued. The boats going for them include those In " Wicked Tuna " but locals target them to sale and for mega dollars. They all get a plane ride to Japan where they are even more valuable. They show up sometime in Dec. peaking in Jan and only 1 per day are allowed with a short open season that depends when quota is caught. I ve been out after them once and failed to land a fish but many of the boats around us got a fish. I ve heard one is usually enough after bring in a 800 lb fish.

    I deckhand offshore trips and I usually do it only in the summer and in the summer its snapper season. I recently deckhanded a tuna trip and after hauling 20 pound snapper up 100 feet I have to say tuna is light work. I was fighting it like I would do a snapper and the captain was freaking out that it was already up lol. Yeah they were not as big as these tuna but still the ones I caught fought hard. Love fishing!! Great video and always tight lines!!

    It's Good to see the release, but this is more like machine against fish not man against fish. The rig is all connected to the boat, All the guy does is turn the handle really. It just makes me appreciate the Fish, not the human.

    was this out of North Lake. The world record tuna, caught on rod and reel was out of this area, some time ago, may have been broken by now. I've seen several 1000 lb tuna out of North Lake, many years ago one was caught out of Annandale while I was there, just over 900 lbs. A cousins brother in law runs fishing tours in PEI. Tight Line tours.

    • @Soulrider2012
      @Soulrider2012 9 років тому

      Megamanzoom EX You need the proper paper work (permit, tag, etc) in order to keep it. You can't just keep any fish that big you happen to catch depending on the waters you're fishing in. They didn't have that paper work so all they could do was catch and release it. If everyone just caught and kept every huge fish they caught the species would die out.
