Until recently we weren’t allowed layers over our leotards and tights. Meanwhile my teachers: leotard, tights, socks, leggings, skirt, shoes, T shirt, top, crop wrap around cardigan and full length cardigan. ALL AT THE SAME TIME. AND DONT FORGET THE HEATING. HOW
I LOVE wearing initards add a shrug if cold a skirt for fun if you like...I have cut my hair layered bob no more bun, teaching is fun students have hair and dress rules however.
@@bellaandpriscilla840 that's normal to me like it has to be a ballet bun at my studio with a black leotard, you can have black shorts or a skirt, pink tights, and pink shoes, warm ups are allowed at barre but not after and only in the Winter
I always went to dance in pink full-length convertible tights, black leotard, hot pants, and a black dance wrap. I had contemporary class before ballet, so I'd always wear a loose hoodie over top at the start of contemporary, then strip that off and chuck on a rep skirt and shoes for ballet.
@@stevereisman6872 they have a hole in the bottom of the sole so you can slip your foot out and roll the tights up for styles like contemporary, where they usually like foot-to-floor contact. Convertible tights are normally used when you have ballet and contemporary (or lyrical, jazz) classes close together with a short amount of time between for changes.

My school was Leo and tights unless you passed grade 1 then you were allowed to wear a skirt or shorts. Thankfully cause I did not like wearing just a leo so I made sure I could wear something over it
My dance teacher is my grandma and she gives us uniform to wear but we can still wear anything we want (like any leotard or skirt, she also lets us wear a leotard and leggings) she’s also making company jackets for us to wear at competitions and recitals

What if you have some 'damage'on your arms or thighs, would that be ok or are you forced to cover it?
In my experience no one has ever been “cover it”, it’s more “no hair down” or a “please wear tights”
