Nice bro
Thanks
Can you recommend a motor for a 1000ft scale track, running 16.4V? What motor are you running in this video? What gearing would you recommend as a starting point for this length track. Really stoked about this brushless set up. Have two Talons on the way and a programmer.
Thanks!
Hello Ron the motor in this car is a Sunny Sky 1106 5500Kv. It’s rated at 3-4s I made the video on 14.1vdc. I did run the car on 16.4vdc without any problems. It has 1.010x.300 tires and it’s geared 16x46. The track is 31 feet long that the video is made on. You should pick a motor that the cell or S rating is as high as the track voltage you are going to run on. I have other cars with bigger size motors in them to match or be higher than 16.4 the track run. Thank you for the interest!
Is the battery inside the car or are you using some sort of dc to ac converter.
We use a flashed Castle Creations Talon25 to power an Outrunner brushless motor. No battery needed, the power comes from the track.
@@brushlessslotcarracing That makes sense.
@@116andsmallerrc2 check out the other video’s on our channel. There is a tutorial on how to do it with all the downloads too. It’s free!
@brushlessslotcarracing I do Hobby grade RCs all the time.
I'm not sure why I didn't make the connection with DC track voltage in place if a lipo.
And then use a brushless ESC.
I did the opposite years ago. I converted slot cars to RC.
What motor would you recommend for 30ft track. 1/25 scale? Any idea of current draw at WOT. Thanks for sharing
I would recommend an EMAX eco 1106 4500 Kv motor for a light weight car on an 1/8 mile drag strip. They draw around 4 amps at the hit. You should use motors rated at 3-4s or higher for the best results on 16.4 vdc power of the drag strip.
@@brushlessslotcarracing good info. Appreciate ya 👍🏻
What voltage
The track has 16.2vdc.90 amp power supply and 5500uF monster cap on each lane.
This video was shot on 14.1vdc. The car was also run on 16.2 without any problems.
