Paul Weller live is always such a pleasure to behold. Fortunate enough to have seen him in concert on a number of occasions throughout his long and varied career and in three different continents.A great songwriter and lyricist, and a much underrated voalist and guitarist too. Few come close today. A living legend for sure. Cheers.
He may not be concerned with originality but is probably one of the very greatest British songwriters alive. He consistently pens great lyrics filled with poetic imagery and English romanticism I know many people believe he peaked with the Jam but he wrote some corkers during the Style Council years. A much-underrated band. They were great. His solo albums have varied but never lack some good songs. His debut, self-titled album was a great come back, Wild Wood and Stanley Road were flawless. Heavy Soul was a good album. I like As is Now. Twenty-two dreams was a masterpiece and the sheer maturity and delicacy of True Meanings really floored me. All the best mate, you have been and always will be, to me, The Guvnor
I was a massive Weller fan when these tunes were released, I'm just revisiting the classic performances I remember watching at the time.... Still fuckin A!!!!
