The Sandberg's tone strikes me as more versatile: good bottom grind + modern snap. The P bass w/ flats is nice and fat but less versatile to my ears. Both sit in the mix well. The other two are far behind.

I thought this would be an easy win for the StingRay but the Sandberg sat better in the mix. The pulls on the vintage PBass made me laugh.
Amazing playing as always! I notice the Postmodern Pbass has DR Low Riders on it now and in your Runaway video it had Pure Blues. Any particular reason for the switch? I'm asking because I really love the tone of it in this video and I'm looking for some new strings for one of my basses.
Thanks for listening, and good notice about the strings. Yes it was Pure Blues, and now they are Low Rider. The reason is that in the latest three sets of Pure Blues, the E string was sounding dull twice and G once, all straight from the box. So I tried the Low Rider and now I'm even more satisfied with the sound, and no dull strings in the set. But the sound is more to thanks to the hand wound '57 CS pickup in the Postmodern. Cheers!
The most consistent DR Strings are probably Lo riders and Hi beams. On the Stingray the SS loriders truly shine
