As the nco you have the ability to use the command circle to tell the rest of the squad to go and at least in Verdun the bots will listen to your orders. In Tannenberg the bots just wander around aimlessly until the make contact the enemy and tend to ignore your orders.
I wish bots would operate machine-guns because it would really add to the atmosphere and difficulty
It takes flanking or a smoke screen to deal with them. Else, you don't have a chance.

I have the game on base xbox one s & the max bots are limited to 24. If verdun remastered has 32 bots then maybe its on pc. I can check tomorrow
