We dove into several challenges in Kevin’s route to become a Marine and SEAL, including two attempts to get into the Naval Academy and two attempts at Hell Weak in BUD/S. We also dive into great reads, why there’s no such thing as shortcuts when it comes to BUDS or Selection, overcoming swimmer induced pulmonary edema, the strange and slippery ritual that is Climbing Herndon Monument at the academy, stronger mindset, how some SEALs to stop chaffing in the more sensitive regions, and tough transitions out of the military into civilian life.
Kevin’s Vet Collective is making waves with 80 members and a newsletter boasting over 6K subscribers! 🌊📬 He's on a mission to help fellow vets find purpose after service. Kevin spent 12 years in service ‘chasing the dragon’ as he calls it trying to find his way into combat which can even be a challenge within the Marines and SEALs. That said, he’s been undeterred in trying to help other vets navigate the transition out of uniform and find renewed purpose.
With that, please enjoy this episode with Kevin Seiff.
Join us as we dive deep into Kevin's story of determination, resilience, and dedication to helping others. 💪

Dont skip the question that makes this channel unique. Usually you ask about first gunfight and first time shooting at someone
He wrote a book. He doesn't have those sorts of stories.
My first gun fight was scary but I survived
I think he answered this question at the 1:07-1:10 time point.
As a non-combat veteran who tried but did not get selected I appreciate the pod casts and insights because many of us were an invested part of the team regardless of our assigned jobs. These are great for helping the transition thru older life adventures. Thank You
We all chase the Dragon. The dirty little scret is that we don't want the ride to end...
🎖️🏆🙏💪
Thank you for sharing this
Thank You 4 Your Service!!!
This was a very good listen. Thank you. I never saw combat but I really enjoy your work. They all need to keep talking. Thank you 👍🙏❤️
Excellent interview. Thank you for standing in the gaps!!
4 minutes in and I hear him describe how veterans have a hard time transitioning to a new career. Having been a recruiter for the last eight years, I can tell you there are many hiring managers out there that will trash a veteran's resume if they don't have any other professional experience listed. I work with one right now that outright admitted he doesn't view military experience as being on par with someone from the corporate world. Needless to say, I've had some words with that "professional."
👽👽👽👽kangaroo sandwich is nauseating👽👽👽👽
"No shortcuts"
"Please give us all this cash to start our business"
so, what is it? I'm sure he also sells books and his friends' books. That sounds like a few dozen shortcuts.
Buds buds buds…..blah blah.
Is this gonna be another episode of a Trump worshipper?
Come on, play nice
