I picked up one of these myself, I love it. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Additionally, I loved the review. The fact you took the time to mic the cabinet and get us a clear picture of what the amp sounded like was a pro-gamer move.
Hello Fabian, thanks for your video! :-) Do you think that the head sounds and feels compressed? To me, the Fireball 25 and in general other Engl head seem to have a bit more headroom. I am so curious to hear your opinion, thanks!
Hello, nice review! I see in a lot of Ironball videos that sometimes the handle on top is tilted or down in one side, like in the beginning of your video, is it possible to put it down completely? The amp would fit better in a suitcase if it would be possible to push the handle fully down
I picked one of these about 6 months ago, one of the first in the US. Excellent amp, pair it with the Z-9 and a wah pedal - that's all you really need. Sounds killer!
Very nice review. I like the fact that this ENGL has a very round distortion. It’ seems to be good not to only for metal chug chug like many other ENGL heads but it can cover different styles. Very very interesting.
Thanks man! The effects are footswitchable if you use one of the Engl Midi controllers like the Z9 or Z12. Now if you use the "normal" footswitch Z4 you won't be able to switch the effects with this, only switch the channels and activate gain boost. Cheers!
Well I haven't tried the REVV G20 (only the D20) so differences in sound I can't say anything... but anyways the ENGL has way more features than the G20, for example the Delay, Reverb and Noise Gate :D!
Haven't played the ironball but the g20 was thin in the bottom end to me. I like the full size growl in the lowend and it just didn't have it. For reference I have a orange dark terror with the same power tubes and it has a ton more bottom end. Just depends on what you like. Try them both of you can

Hello! Well I might be biased, but it sounds very natural and powerful for my ears! The cab is also going to change the perception for sure... Cheers!

Great review ! Thank you for this, the amp seems very cool and the internet really lack of review about this amp
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Very insightful video! Thank you 🤘
Thank you! 😃
Good review , thank you
Great demo! Thank you.
Thanks man!
Is the tone diminished as you lower the watts? I would much rather buy this than any modeling unit

GREAT REVIEW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks man! 🤘🏻
Great review man, I absolutely love ENGL. This one seems very cool. But are the effects also footswitchable?

@@StringsofRock tenx man, made sense that ENGL would Punnish you to buy one of their footswitches with it🤣
@@StringsofRock and this is deal breaker for me :(
@@dryzd You can use any MIDI pedal. It doesn't have to be from ENGL as I understand it.
@@jacobseal this should not be so confusing 🤣
Can you play this amp in an apartment? If you can does it sound like mud or can you attenuate it?
Yea sure! With the power soak included you can reduce it to 5 or 1 watt. The sound doesn’t lose any quality in my opinion.
awesum!
Thanks 😃
Any difference between REVV G20 and this?
