As much as I love the original Mafia, the remake did a such a great job with its presentation that it's hard not to find the original just... completely hilarious with how goofy its acting and writing was.
I agree with all except the end comments in vito different Era different time yes he was made guy but you forget one vito was on hard times at this point with his house burning down hence the whole pulling the hit to get a decent payday, two his casual leather jacket outfit is in line with casual wear a made guy might wear at the time they didn't just always walk around in expensive suits, vito and joe were just soliders in the family they'd only ever be dressed up when they were going out to functions or party or important meetings, why get blood and brains on a expensive suit ?
I kinda wish in Mafia 2 they made you wear different outfits. Vito: Hey Joe what's the accession? Joe: Hey Vito! they gave us a car and a pair of suits. Vito: Is it for a wedding? Joe: It's for a hit. these are our disguises.
Ok at first I used to love the change at the ending cause I thought it fixed the continuity but you made a great point that it ruined the twist and why this was important for newcomers.
The original Czech dubbing of the og Mafia is way better then the English one and the story is great sure some things are better in the remake but some are much better in the oroginal like the ending in the remake you have this lame speech about family that doesn't even make much sense in the context and it si just to match the Mafia 3 Family plot and it has vibes like Fast and Furious family bullshit 😂. In the original you have this speech in the end amd it is much better "You know, the world isn't run by the laws written on paper. It's run by people. Some according to laws, others not. It depends on each individual how his world will be, how he makes it. And you also need a whole lot of luck, so that somebody else doesn't make your life hell. And it ain't as simple as they tell you in grade school. But it is good to have strong values and to maintain them. In marriage, in crime, in war, always and everywhere. I messed up. So did Paulie and Sam. We wanted a better life, but in the end we were a lot worse off than most other people. You know, I think it's important to keep a balance in things. Yeah, balance, that's the right word. Because the guy who wants too much risks losing absolutely everything. Of course, the guy who wants too little from life, might not get anything at all."
And that speech about wanting too much and loose everything or wanting too little and get anything at all is much better than the Fast and Furious family crap but the romance with Sara is much better in the remake and Frank speech about the dog is great in the remake i love both of these games and they both have theyre own valious

Mafia is just for a story. After thatz theres nothing to do. But im sure back in the day when I was a kid, i would enjoy the open world and cars very much. But when I was a kid. Mafia the city of Lost Heaven was out only, and I did enjoy it. I did finished the story but man.. WE TALKIN ABOUT PSYCHOPATIC RAGE episodes while playing it.. haha. Also helped it was in czech as i didnt know sh!t about English when i was 7. But when i played the def. Edition, I had to have it in english as its too much of a cringe and bad voice acting compared to the original in Czech.. sad.

Can't even drice around it or have a racecar spawn there. That pissed me off so bad it reminded me of mafia 3 theres a whole rural area but the bushes are solid and can't even get past 2 foot into the woods
