I don't know if the clear racism should be counted as sins as they're purposely put there so as not to sugar coat the time period and show a much more realistic parallel to 1960's USA. People actually spoke like that.
Some of the "that's racist" lines are sarcastic and just used as a mini joke.
No, they spoke that word with a hard "r" at the end, not with an "a" like in the game. I'm not advocating for that word, seeing as I hate how it sounds, but everyone complaining about "tHeYrE sAyInG tHe N wUrD" is fucking retarded because they aren't really saying the slur, they're saying the slang word.
Although it is the South and people have do have accents
K J nice i totally agree
Yeah, but they are sins
bad things done in games
There were a few problems I had some of these sins:
1. You still need to permission to set your game in a real city just like you need permission to film a movie or tv show there. If the city finds anything objectionable to the portrayal of the city they can refuse the right to do so. I don't think that New Orleans would be keen on being portrayed as a corrupt city completely run by the mafia.
2. In 1968 police departments were not using fingerprinting to solve crimes on a wide scale as the lab analysis of prints would take a long time to acquire. Even if the NBPD did lift prints off the gas can, to catch Lincoln it would require that he have a criminal record, which the game says he does not.
3. The fake ID sin makes no sense. They are fake, not the IDs of the men they took the uniforms from. The forged IDs are a ruse to convince the guards that they are transfers and replacements.
4. Their plan was to drill under the vault to escape unnoticed. Yeah they could have taken the money outside the vault, but how would they have escaped with it? Walking it out the front door?
5. He probably did know that Baka was out of bullets. Lincoln is a highly skilled special forces soldier. He probably knows how to count shots, and the capacity of a 1911, you know the standard US sidearm during Vietnam.
6. Cassandra is a master manipulator and hardened criminal, so yeah she probably was able to figure out a ruse very quickly.
7. You'd need inside men to scope out the security situation inside the reserve. What if the guards decide to check the vault while they're drilling? What if the drill alerts the guards? Having inside operators was a way to make sure they could mitigate any interference from the guard staff, as well as make sure any security measures could be deactivated.
8. No that's not the money that the federal reserve was going to destroy. That was completely different money. The gang used the scheduled burn of the OLD money as an opportunity to get inside the reserve to steal the NEW money that was NOT scheduled for destruction.
9. Sometimes songs that are popular get played a lot on the radio. They don't just play it once every few months. It's been like 50 years since it debuted and I still hear Bad Moon Rising on the radio like once a week.
10. Doucet who is shown to be massively obese and not athletic in the slightest "could have easily climbed into the ferris wheel to save himself"? I don't know how to tell you this, but even if you are in immaculate shape trying to do any amount of physical exertion while your windpipe is being crushed by traction under your own weight would be EXTREMELY difficult. Also it looks like the rope length on that noose would have made enough space from Doucet's grasp to the railing that he wouldn't have been able to get a grip anyway.
I'm only 9 minutes into this video, but these are very easy sins to disprove if you pay attention to the details that the game presents. You could go after actual inaccuracies like the fact that Lincoln's knife that he allegedly carried during his tour in Vietnam is an M9 bayonet which wasn't created until 1986. but I guess that not as entertaining as an incorrect nitpick.
great research my freind
A lot of the complaints in this video are ridiculous
Damn it’s sarcastic comedy y’all take y’all self and these garbage ass games too seriously
@@muchlovegambine949 it's not very good comedy when you nitpick that's already been explained. The point is he could do better with 5% more effort
You sinned the sin Chanel? Chad move lol
Some issues I have:
1. Father James is a former army medic so he probably knew about wound care. Still extremely irresponsible, but he didn't want the cops and feds asking questions.
2. The Haitian mob attacked Lincoln in the diner, because Lincoln tried to stop them. They didn't specifically target him.
3. Making a huge deal out of tiny things like the Vietnamese woman with the pig and the baby. The shot up guy on the ferris wheel not being able to pull his weight up and save himself from strangulation (most people can't even do pull ups, let alone when they've been shot). Mardi Gras in New Bordeaux isn't an issue as the fictional city is meant to represent New Orleans anyway.
4. The game did a very good job at explaining why he can't get revenge and just be done with it. He wants to take everything from them first and then kill them to inflict mental anguish on them before death. Also, if you kill a mob boss, a new lieutenant will become the boss and they'll come after you anyway. So you have to kill all the capos, lieutenants and then the boss to systematically dismantle the mob. Also you have to take their rackets to rob them of any capital that they can use against you.
5. They use the run-down mansion to meet on neutral ground. That's how it's done in organized crime. Heck that's how it's done everywhere where there are issues of trust.
6. No, Cassandra doesn't trust Lincoln. None of them trust each other. This is explicitly stated in that very scene as well.
Mafia 3 had a decent plot. You could poke just as many holes in Mafia 2's and Mafia 1's plot. There's always a level of suspension of belief when it comes to stories like this. Not everything can have a plot like The Godfather.
Why I personally didn't like Mafia 3 as much as Mafia 2 or 1, is because the game was clearly rushed and is still unfinished. They removed a lot of the features for no apparent reason and the game mechanics become extremely tedious after a while. As you said, they turned a 10-hour game into a 20-hour one. But for me the story was riveting enough to keep me going even though a lot of things were really poorly done.
[Mingi loll depressiivne meem] Same here. I enjoyed the game but it is so repetitive. I kept playing for the story because I wanted to know what happened next. Mafia 3 doesn't come close to Mafia 2 though.
I had fun completing this game tbh
mafia 2 is still better
I I agree like I dislike all the channels like Cinema sins where they go for the tinniest things instead of enjoying the game movie song or whatever
Oh a great movie with a great plot but oops a cup in one scene is one inch to the right in another scene.

Biggest Sins:
-The Option to screw over Vito
-The Option to Kill Vito
-The multiple endings. Hell, Vito deserved to be in power if Lincoln leaves.
Big fan of Mafia 2 and Vito is a great character. That said, I don't like Vito (or anyone, really) getting a happy ending. Tommy Angelo getting gunned down in his front yard, Joe believing he was set up by Vito and then brutally murdered... Vito getting killed by Lincoln and Lincolm himself being assassinated by Father James seems to fit the theme of these games.
@@rinraiden Joe wasn't murdered. Joe is very briefly seen as Leo Galante's driver.
@@anarchitron8332 I admit that Leo's driver looks a lot like him, and I'd prefer that to Joe dying off screen, but so far it's not confirmed.
Hell yeah! Love Vito!
I absolutely agree and I did that ending all the time f the other character Vito is MVP
How is Vito re-appearing in the third installation a bad thing😂
15:50 you clearly do not know many veterans. A dark and twisted sense of humor is pretty much on their business cards.
Vet here. FACT
Still though. Imitating a vietnamese combatant while you're standing right next to a sleeping vet with a handgun? I didn't know vets still liked gallows humour that much when it's their own neck in the noose :P
veterans are just.. dark. they're not afraid of death. and for them, death is just a small piece of nothing that happens all the time. dark isn't it?
My grandpa has PTSD from Vietnam and he makes very fucked up jokes about the war every now and then
@@odinlindeberg4624 nearly anyone with ptsd develops a dark sense of humor

for people who actually paid attention its fairly obvious the direction of the story even with those jumps.
Terry Wallace that’s exactly what I thought. They act like it takes so much energy to follow the story when they’re just bitches about it.
People like this aren’t true gamers obviously. You never pick something apart like this. You follow the story and enjoy it. I loved this game, I never complained once.

Reverand Hale I complained a lot, it doesnt really look that appealing to me and the game is a little too easy.
I agree
My only real complaint with this game is that they don't let you replay missions without restarting the game.

Sin 43 father James couldn’t take him to the hospital cause Sal would find out he’s there and kill him
Plus Father James was a medic in wwii so he knew how to treat gunshot wounds also Lincoln was a wanted suspect in the federal reserve heist so he couldn't take to the hospital
18:30
About that, you’d need to do a lot of reading to get this, but here’s the TLDR:
Olivia is a psychopath that loves the mafian way of life, she married Lucio marcano (sal’s youngest brother) and then had him killed for 2 reasons, 1 she would take over his rackets, 2 she found it exciting killing her husband like some romanticized mafia lady
Sal probably found out and sent Georgie to kill her for that when she was of no use
She’s basically the whole reason why the game even happens, since after Lucio’s death, Sal got scared that Georgie might also die because of their way of life, that’s why he wanted to get out of the life and started building the casino
Lucio is Sals oldest brother...
@@spencer9093 I thought Sal was the oldest and Lucio was one of Sal's middle brothers...
@@BenHopkins1000 Lou was the oldest. Then either Sal or Lucio and the youngest was Tommy.
I find it hard to believe that Sal found out about Olivia having Lucio killed the same night that Lincoln saved DeGarmo. Sal most likely never liked Olivia and saw her as a risk after she lost her district. Also some punishment for allowing Lincoln to take Frisco Fields.
5:44 Sammy knew something was off when Marcano said he had a guy outside to bag up his cut. Notice the focus on Sammys face and the look he gives as Marcano walks to the bar. He even threw in a little extra and there's a pleading look in his eye -- dude knew what was gonna happen and knew he couldn't stop it.

The reason marcano killed the black mob is so that they could be blamed for the heist
No Name no.... that's good nothing to do with it. my comment was about the "sin" that if he had the plates why did he need the money that the black mob had. He didn't per say but it was more to use them as scapegoats
While that seems plausible, it doesn't add up. Marcano wanted Lincoln to take over the black mob. If he was sincere about that and still planned to kill the black mob members after the heist except for Lincoln to take the heat off himself, what would he have Lincoln take over? The black mob is gone and he's wanted by the police. Not exactly a great deal.
he decided to kill them all after lincoln decided not to play ball
Chris Warren also because the mob was counterfeiting the stolen money

probably one of the best story games there is
The story was fucking fantastic. Quite repetitive but overall fantastic.
7:19 there's no incoherence here. The money from the heist helped Marcano consolidate his power, and gain hold of the police force through bribes, a scenario that didn't exist before the heist.
This guy makes it sound like characters being racist in a turbulent time in American history isn't factual.
It’s a joke. Shut up
Your probably one of the few that didn't like the story
I think most people didn't like it from what I hear at least
TheMasterQuests he didn't like the story STRUCTURE
Yeah, the previous two games of Mafia were about people that rise from below to the top, about the struggles and the dark deeds that you to do be a member of the mobs, Mafia 2 has far much better story than Mafia 1, because Vito end being a mobster in the end it seems. People not watch mobster movies for revenge plots or redemption plots, watch mobster movies because they like to see the relatable bad guy triumph, and Vito with his sarcasm and wit was very relatable in that aspect.
I don't really hate the story so much as I hate how they structured it. It's very rote and mechanical. There's no organic cohesion to the scenes and characters. However, this is a problem that most open world games suffer from.

Yeah, like a beefed up Russell Wilson. I just hope Lincoln doesn't make any ill-advised decisions when reaching a certain checkpoint is assured.
THEY SHOULDVE RAN THE BALL!
sergeantbigmac
Most definitely; what a misguided, arrogant, and awful decision right there. Biggest throwaway of a won game I've ever seen, and I still haven't completely forgiven the Seahawks (too bad, I dug how their team was constructed and played). Dumb, dumb, dumb.
ninecool11 yeah he does
When I first saw him I thought it was a mocap of Blake Griffin fr
to be fair Lincoln tells Donavan that he's making it seem like he needs to take over his business so cassandra and vito and burke will help him take everything that marcano knows and loves before his eyes. He wants to destroy it but makes it seem like he wants to take it over so he'll get help destroying everything. Only thing I'll defend.
- The reason on why they did not name New Bordeaux "New Orleans" is because the game all along never used original city names despite being set in that city. For example, Mafia I was supposed to be set in NYC but then it incoperate elements from Chicago and LA which has a booming Costra Nostra tradition which made up Lost Heaven in the game for Mafia I. Mafia II is set in NYC for real this time and it became Empire Bay so to follow tradition of the whole game, New Orleans was called New Bordeaux.
- If you even bother to go through with the whole god damn thing, you'll know that the feud between the Haitians and Sammy goes way before Lincoln even went to Vietnam. The reason why Cassandra din't really trust Lincoln and vice versa was due to the hatred the two gangs had before Lincoln even saved her life.
- Sal building that casino even before the law has passed was what the Mafias actually did in Las Vegas. Besides, with Sal still being a party that has ties to the Commision in Empire Bay (New York alike), he could just lobby them to pass in new laws that favours the Mafia and himself. If you go deeper into the game, you'll know he even pockets tons of senators into his side so building the casino even before knowing that it's still a numbers game before the bill passed seems odd but being a mobster, gambling is their forte and he knew he would win. Which in Sal's case, was a gamble straight shot win.
- Why Lincoln chose the old, rundown house in the Bayou to meet is simple. The Bayou was no-man's land and only the Dixie mobs run the whole area with close to 0 big shots holding the area securely. While Lincoln did take areas off Marcano's hands, his goons are still around the area and if Lincoln and his lieutanants were to meet in one of the territories they got, war will instantly happen on that particular territory after any negotiations falls through and that would be worse for Lincoln's purpose so organizing the meetings in the Bayou was actually a sound choice as if any negotiations goes wrong or not to favour, it still takes time for his rouge lieutanant to return to his own turf, organize a whole army for war then launch the war.
- Why did Sal kill Olivia? PARANOIA! Sal was getting ever more insane when Lou and the rest of the crew got wiped out by one lone warrior that he never finished off. With his whole operation crumbling under his feet and Olivia still surviving after a battle with Lincoln, Sal never knew that Olivia never squealed but killed her off as a precaution or in fear that Olivia had already betrayed him. It's a double edged thing but all I can say is Sal ordering the execution of Olivia is all down to just pure paranoia.
- Yes you can't shoot a senator in the Capitol Building and just walk out but that's what makes Donovan what he is. HE'S MOTHERFUCKING JOHN DONOVAN! He doesn't give a flying fuck! He's CIA and he's doing the country a justice kill.
Overall, the game has great story, an even better soundtrack and scenery but I'll agree that the mission (Buildups) the the story was totally too grindy and lame. Overall, still a good game though.
Jun Kitami
But NYC itself also exists in the mafia universe too apparently,so there is like 3 identical cities?
I think Sal also ordered Olivia put down because she ordered a hit on her husband and Sal's brother Lucio. Sal had no real use for Olivia with her rackets in Lincoln's hands.
The story was amazing even through repetitive game play I was still able to enjoy the game because of the story line
Actually, I suspect if you shot a US senator in a room with no cops but had other senators, the cops would be praying for you to just walk out. After all, having several senators as hostages and having demonstrated that you're ballsy enough to kill senators is a pretty solid bargaining position as hostage crises go. Granted, once your out and not pointing your gun at anyone, they're probably either going to snipe you or rush and handcuff you so they can kill you with electricity or poison or whatever they used back then. But still, the cops would be more than happy to get you out of the room your hostages are in.
Just wanna correct one minor detail.Giorgi killed olivia out of revenge because she had his uncle lucio killed.Once lincoln trashed her control over frisco fields she was pretty much useless to sal so giorgi had nothing to hold him back
Sin 45; Father James was a medic in WWII, so it makes sense that he could have patched him up.
And as a gunshot victim , news may carry back to marcano if he was in a hospital
6:30 he didn't do it cause they explain later in the game how hospitals don't give much care to people who aren't as "important" as people such as marcano
11:35 The problem with killing Marcano but not his family members/associates is that they, once in charge, would probably seek revenge for Sal's death or try to kill you just to make sure you ain't coming after them as well. So no matter what, you would be forced to move away from New Bordeaux. And btw, the whole point of Lyncoln's revenge is watching Marcano losing everything before killing him, not just taking him out. He made that very clear the second he met with Donovan.
3:08 - I thought they jumped him because he was part of the Black Mob not because he was Lincoln Clay

Donovan says that the priest was a medic in WW2. So yeah he didnt need to take lincoln to the hospital
The only bad thing about this game is that the Takedown of Marcano’s Organisation is *Highly Repetitive*
Steps:
1. Go to new District
2. Get intel from Donovan
3. Kill Enforcers, Steal Money, Interrogate Men, Blow up trucks
4. Kill Owner Of The Racket
5. Call an Underboss to Secure Rackets
6. Repeat *Steps 3-5* on the other Racket as Every District has 2 Rackets
7. Locate and Kill the
Underboss/Lieutenant and secure District
8. Assign District to an Underboss and Piss the rest of them off so they will leave and you will have to Kill them for some reason
9. Repeat *Steps 1-8* on every other District until you Drive to Casino to Kill Georgi and Sal and either:-
*-* Leave City and waste the opportunity of a life time
*-* Kill Underbosses and get Blown up by Father James
*-* Rule With Underbosses and become *Literally* one of the Most Richest and Influential men In South/ South-East America
*Pretty Obvious Choice if you ask me*
Yeah honestly once they killed marcono it didn't even feel satisfying i would rather it be a cutscene too
11:35 I'm pretty sure his mindset/belief changed after he killed Baka and only to find out the Haitians came back with a new leader in Cassandra so obviously he knows he can't just kill the main leader without someone else coming up and replacing him and trying to comeback to kill him. You start at the roots then work your way up to the head.
cassandra was always the leader she just hid and made it look like baka was leader so she wouldn't die.
Oh and definitely do Battlefield 1 next
Comrade Nixon Which makes it even more of a reason why Lincoln changed his mindset.
Not only did I absolutely love the story, but it was about as close as I could get to playing a current Gen Punisher game. It certainly needed a lot of more work done to it, maybe even being somewhat unfinished but the game as a whole for me was absolutely amazing and fun.
I really didn't like this game. It basically brought nothing new to the table. It's so repetitive it gets boring extremely fast.
it can actually be beaten if you keep yourself occupied collecting the goods, if you know what i mean... THOSE HOT ROD MAGAZINES AND JESUS REPENT AND ALBUM COVERS IS WHERE IS AT (sarcasm)
Igor19485 it took so many things away from the table.
Lags fucking lags
@@ernestochang1744 Buff Jesus!
The story was its only selling point and that it was pretty controversial. This series desered better, I really like the story but if the gameplay sucks this bad, why would people play it to experience it?
The bullet scar one really bothered me for the whole game
i dont really care that the gameplay is repetitive getting those brutal takedowns is soooo satisfying i would play it even 5 times and i would not get bored
It seems as if you are complaining about everything.
That's the whole point of this channel, you're new?
Well, yeah that's kind of the whole point. Don't take it too seriously though. It's all done in good fun and not a serious review.
but its dumb because some things dont make sense that u say
Mafia 3 is a perfect example of how interesting writing and characters can carry otherwise fairly bad game. Yes, the gameplay gets old *really* fast, but I still played through the whole thing, because I was actually interested in the story, I wanted to hear the dialogues, I did give a shit about characters for a change and it was enjoyable despite its flaws.
It's hard to actually rate this game, because we normally play games for their, you know, gameplay?, which happened to be seriously lacking, YET I could still recommend playing it. How do you put numerical score on something like that?
I feel like I'm the only one that really liked this game all around. Yeah the gameplay is repetitive as hell but I always had fun with it. I enjoyed unlocking better weapons and working my way up getting more money and power. And the story captivated me.
😎I strongly disagree I do not concur I liked the Story and the fact that they brought vito back it was a major factor in me buying the game the same can be said for watchdogs 2
It actually sucks.
I bet you got the game for free and didnt play the 2nd game at all
DaEmVeePee Dud How would he get it free? It's free in August, not in July.
Yeah, but what precisely did you like about the story? It was Southern-fried shit. XD
Cliche revenge story with a shitty revenge plan, an incompetent villain and an unlikable protagonist. I was actually rooting for Marcano to bury Lincoln so I could play as someone with an actual degree of nuance, preferably Vito.
Fanboys never cease to perplex me.
It actually super sucks
I know it looks like Lincoln is shot on his left but if you look close he’s facing giorgi when he shoots meaning it would hit his right
I didn't know dartigan was capable of letting loose and laughing out loud like he did at the beginning LoL.. but I guess even that was a sarcastic nervous laugh.. why can't we have one good thing?!
Sorry but how is racism in a game designed to partially highlight racism historically a sin?? That is literally giving sins for realism.
I love how the main characters are connected.
*Spoiler*
Tommy blabbed to the feds. So Vito shot him. Vito is sent to New Bordeaux, where Lincoln saves his life.
So therefore I'm curious how Lincoln will connect to Mafia 4.
Actually, Joe shot him.
How the fuck was calling the FBI "Hoovers fairy brigade" racist?
I really enjoyed Mafia, and Mafia 2. I bought Mafia 3 the day it released and played it for 10 minutes and never touched it again..
Pros: Lincoln is cool, nice to see Vito return, relatively cool story, great soundtrack
Cons: everything else
