@@jjoossee2000 AIUITIO 16" Rivet Nut Tool from Amazon. Looks like the RXZ tool so it just has a different name probably. No issues yet but I have only used it a few times. I apply moderate force and even pressure to the handles. Not sure if that will help tool survive or not.
For anyone that finds this useful, I have a 4th gen Fbody water pump and radiator in my 88 Camaro LS swap and the F250 lower radiator hose everyone says works so well is complete junk. Just use a lower hose from a 2009 base model Corvette with a 6.2 N/A. Fit is absolutely perfect.
Great info. I'm going to use the same setup. Same fans too. Of you could list the part numbers and links to purchase in your description next time that would be even more helpful
Good job! Why you did not use stock SBC fan from 3g. I use stock single fan from camaro 88 year with my swaped ls1. I thought that if fan could cool iron block, than it will cool aluminium block. Is not it? Use it 2 years...
3rd gen electric fans are very underpowered. since my car is a Autocross and road race car, I need something VERY powerful. race days at 95F+ are pretty brutal
Hey i was going to get this radiator then realized there are two different orientations for the sbc one and ls one. I am going to ls swap in the future and i was just wondering if you had any idea if it would be easier to use the sbc radiator orientation or get the ls orientation to fit the sbc.
@@3rdGenGuy You can say that again I noticed my stock rad was better then this one but the reason I asked is cause if my radiator is too chunky it’ll end up hitting my steering box.
Hey got a quick question for ya, so my setup is a little jank rn and im looking to kinda clean it up like this. Is this a 4th gen size radiator? and how did you get it to sit flush with the bottom if it is.
I just fit mine in my car. I used the stock rubber isolators on the bottom and just trimmed them a bit bigger to fit this thicker radiator and it fits perfect
Thanks for the videos. My go to for a similar project I'm running. You mind letting me know what your overall thickness of the radiator & fan set up is.
yes, you can buy versions of this rad with the Small block hose orientations. LS1 fans also fit. HOWEVER, the stock 3rd gen radiator is actually fine, it's the stock fans that suck. LS1 fans would be a good mod, although you'd have to wire up the fans as the stock fan wires can't handle these fans.
@@3rdGenGuy hey man I installed the fans recently and when the car is idle they cool off nicely but when driving the temperature stays high, the old amazon fans didn’t do that should i cut some slits to dissipate sole hot air?
I really appreciate this video.
I have a 1980 Camaro, 5.3/T56 swap.
I ordered the ls1 fans on ebay for $116.
Thank you for the inspiration.
My riv-nut gun is coming today. You convinced me pretty easily.
What brand do you recommend? The rzx has a few bad reviews.
I use the RZX and I see why there are bad reviews. VERY easy to break the tool ends.

I found the Fans ,New in the box for about $125. ! ROCKAUTO ,,,, and 3rd gen F body , wiring harness plugs straight in …
RockAuto has a few replacements.
I like the OEM stuff though.
I installed a frostbite in mine and its just as thick. the dorman 4th gen fans i bought were pitiful though.
the 3rd party replacements aren't quite as strong as the original GM ones.

Were do you get the aluminum counter sync washers , and what revnut set up would you recommend.
Thanks for all you do it`s helpful.
off the "specialty fasteners" website.
Would the stock radiator work with an ls1 swap?
I’m wondering the same thing!
yes, stock rad is fine even for a iron block LS.
you just need a different hose. the hose part numbers are all online with a quick search
I use stock radiator. No problems 😊

I now you can use SBC style rads with LS.
I noticed it fit good but my question is how many row’s is your radiator? I have a 3 row and a SBC and wanna do the LS1 fan conversion
i'll tell you a secret, how many rows a Rad has is basically meaningless.
those LS1 fans will cool anything with even a stock radiator ha ha.
@@3rdGenGuy You can say that again I noticed my stock rad was better then this one but the reason I asked is cause if my radiator is too chunky it’ll end up hitting my steering box.
@@qzria I have the stock quick ratio Saginaw gear box and these fans and this radiator do not hit it. There is enough clearance.
Hey for the -4 steam line what is the other end of the fitting size. The part that screws into the radiator?
I believe its 1/16 NPT to 4an
@@3rdGenGuy thanks you
whats the reason for using a ls1 radiator instead of a gen 3 camaro radiator
it's about 1/2 the weight

end tanks are 2.75in deep.
rad+fans are 5in deep
the fan motors make it 6.5in deep
width is 10.5in
Tell us how did the new cooling fan work out...
So you used 8mm countersunk for the mounting but 6mm for the radiator fan shroud?
ya, Because I had some tiny 6mm countersunk washers laying around.
a bolt and a regular washer works just the same.
turns out that small leak was a bad water pump.
had to replace it ha ha

How much cfm will those 4th gen fans produce?
about 3,300 cfm give or take.
