Just saved me probably hundreds of $$$ as I was ready to send it to the dealership. Since owning my '06 300C, the passenger door never registered open when the door opened. Two days ago, the alarm went off after locking the car and didn't know why. Last night while driving, the door showed ajar and the interior lights came on and wouldn' t go off. I was sure it was a bad switch and wasn't prepared to screw up the door panel to try and replace it. But your video had me looking under the hinge boot and wouldn't you know it? The purple/white wire was corroded in the connector and no longer making the connection. Both sides of the connector it just pulled out. Spliced in a wire and fed through the connector and for the first time, the door positioning works.
George, On a 2010 Grand Caravan drivers door, where is the switch that senses that the door is open or closed? Older vehicles had a plunger switch in the frame, but this does not. Is it in the door lock actuator?
Mine just keeps unlocking the rear hatch when I unlock the driver's door, whether manually, or by the remote. Ended up taking the batteries out of the remote, but no difference. I believe there's a short in the d/door wiring, so will try what you suggest, and get back to you. Thanks.
Seems to me I have similar problems my instrument panel on 2012 dodge caravan show up gate open but it's actually close interior lights is on or blinking no matter you driving or no car is lock and light is still going on and of with notice gate I'm so confused about thank josef
any ideas on how to get that damb door plug boot back into the a-pillar to keep water out of the body side of the vehicle? I cant seem to get mine to slide in. 2016 journey but the boot is the same design

I have 2 dodge intrepids. One is a 1998 and other is a 2000. Both cars have the same issue i don't understand. Both cars dome lights come on and off on their own while driving and sometimes while its parked and locked in the driveway. Any help?
Hi George I gotta similar problem but with my 98 dekota... interior light stays on and it drains my battery thought it was stereo.. but i found a few blown fuses and I replaced them but still it drains because my light is on can you hit me up please looking for a little input.
Where would a turn signal wire be from the inside of a 2005 dodge stratus I changed all fuses and bulbs also the relay that sits in/on the steering wheel and my left turn signal still flashes fast . I have a feeling when they installed the remote start they did something to the turn signal and that's why it's doing what it's doing but I cant find anything with a actual picture with the wire I'm looking for all I find the diagram I dont k m.h ow how to read those diagrams

On my 93 lumina sedan it was a door switch that was too short. We opened 1 door at a time and pushed each switch by hand until we saw the door that shut off the lights. You can either put a paper extension or adjust the nut on the switch. Put wd40 to door latches and that switch too if it feels rusty.
hi george, i have a 2006 dodge ram 1500, 81k miles, my problem is the dome lights all interior lights, wont stay on for more then 5 seconds, once the lights turn off, i hit my brake pedal and they come on, also i hit my bright lights the dome lights come on but then of course turns off with in 5 seconds, is there anything i can check? or do?by the way i have {not factory} led light bulbs in, can those cause this issue? please help thank u guys

I figured it out the dummy before me had and after market stereo so near the stock amps there was a unplugged adapter so I plug it into the module next to it and it turn on the interior lights

SONEBODY HELP!!!! I got a 2006 dodge dakota and an alarm that is exactly like the seat belt alarm but only goes off once instead of constantly like seat belt. What the hell is this? There's no idiot light. Just a single tone every couple of minutes.

The one I'm working on comes on when the key is off and I open the door to get out. Only the drivers door does it. It jist started doing it now.

Fuse? Some cars have both the locks and interior lights in the same mechanism inside the door.

littletoy - maybe it's a relay under the hood I have power locks myself and if those get a little dam they can short out aswell.. hope that helps.
