Cute little hands close to mommy!!!! The scene reminds me when my daughter was little and she remained close to me when I was studying. I let her scribble on the edges of my notebook. I still keep those pages!! Later on, while she was going to be in second grade, we moved to USA. I let her "help" me writing my notes, this time on the computer, while she was on my lap. Beside being close and having a good time together, I was reinforcing the writing and reading in our native language while we were in USA learning English. Today she is fully bilingual, not only speaking both languages, but reading and writing them as well.

I've been sewing since i was 9y/o. So some 57 yrs. Your explanation is very easy, clear & precisely said. Most of these tutorials are too lengthy (gabby) & too Ling to get into the assembly. Thank you!

Perfect instructions. Quick and precise and easy to follow. Something I’ve been wanting to make and you made it easy. I love the simple design and can’t wait to try it out this weekend to bring a dessert for a movie night at my daughter’s. Thank you so much. And the little helping hands are adorable!

Gina (61) from Melbourne Australia here. I was hopeless at sewing at school. But I guess one is never too old to learn and try new things. I can’t believe I actually made a beautiful casserole carrier. Followed your clear precise instructions and pronto it was made. Fabulous. Will be making more for Christmas gifts for my family. Thanks again Vanessa. You are a beautiful young woman who has been blessed with gifted hands and brain. You go girl

I made this carrier as a Christmas gift for my neighbor. I put a pie plate inside and she loved it. It was made out of Christmas fabric. I am getting ready to make another out of southern cruisine fabric. Thanks for this wonderful tutorial.

Mighty darn clever! Whoever designed this thing is a marvelous engineer. I haven't sewn for decades, so I no longer have the cutting mat and the rotary cutter, the measuring tools, etc., but I still was able to put it together in just one afternoon; it looks splendid, and it will be my gift to my daughter at her birthday brunch tomorrow. She and her little family do potluck dinners with friends once a month, and I think she's going to like having a carrier to tote her contribution to each event.
BTW … I made your oven mitts and gift-card pockets for Christmas this year; they turned out very nicely and were well received. I thought my homemade gifts were a thing of the past, but it looks as if I'll be sewing from now til next Christmas … with your help!

Hi Vanessa, I love this pattern !!!!, I have made a lot of these for both myself and friends, this is the best pattern ever!!!
it carries both round, square and rectangular dishes and I have made it a bit bigger to accommodate 2 dishes higher.
I love the fact it hangs on your arm and you can still carry your bag etc. Made mine 25"x25" with pattern cotton drill ( in darker colours) on the inside to hide spills.
    Cheers...Janeen

Made one of these with a longer carrying strap to take my iron to sewing group. with the longer strap, the "carrier" becomes an awesome pressing mat. Thank you so much for the pattern.

I made four of these earlier this year, two for me and one for each of my daughters. We were going out for Thanksgiving today and I used both of mine. My other side dish was wrapped in a towel. I thought "I should make another". Obvious idea but this pattern and instructions are so easy and simple, that I can probably get three of them done tomorrow morning, without stress! Great lesson, very clear instructions and the carrier is so nice to use for pot lucks. I pulled out all my smaller pieces of Christmas fabric, and decided to make a few more, when I give away a plate of cookies, it would be nice to "wrap" them in one of these.

Few years behind but I made this. It's great. Took me a little longer because of the quilting I did but I'm sure my second will go together much much faster. Your video is super.
Update: when I washed these the batting seemed to go a little crazy on me and bunchy. I think to make these again I would quilt through all four layers at once and bond the edges. I think that would work better for washing. Don't get me wrong I love the video and the idea. I will be using the ones I've made a good bit.

@sahinkle44 I was able to but it doesn't look as closed up as the square or round ones. I would suggest starting off with pieces that are a little bigger than the 22" x 22". Maybe do a test one with 25" or 26" squared to start? Good luck!
