    Som döv uppskattar jag att det finns undertext, mycket informativt.

      Så glad jag blir. UA-cam har bra funktioner för att texta och översätta. Det är så bra för alla. Jag har förstått att många hörande också tittar med text.

    Slow down, slow down,
    we don't speak your language,and to read, look, and comprehend
    all at once is a hard task to master at 70yrs.... Wooroloo it's not a race in this world but a learning. Love and thank you....

      I do understand... I speak fast. I have done most of my videos in English, but some are in Swedish. That is a problem for non-swedes, of course. But I want to have some videos in swedish too.
      Do you think I speak too fast in English too?

    Thank you Linda. I’ve been meaning to try this for a while. It’s a good alternative to the auto-tiller, especially because it doesn’t use my batteries. Definitely worth reading the subtitles for!

      Thank you! Im happy to hear that. As you might have notised, in most of my videos, I speak English. But this one, I decided to do in Swedish. Glad it was ok for you!

    Thank you for sharing this very interesting subject. Though I speak only English as a second language, I could under a fair bit what you are trying to say. Hope you can do one video in English to confirm my understanding. Yes, such an important skill to learn because you can use this method when even the hydrovane breaks down.

      Hi Joseph! Were the english subtitles not enough helpful for you? In that case, I must consider to do an english version. I cannot say when, though. I havent had time for videos lately, and in a week I hopefully go to Trinidad to start my sailing season.

    Thanks for sharing this wonderful technique !
    Have you done a video on the topic of "Lying Ahull"?

    • @LindaLindenauSailing
      @LindaLindenauSailing  3 роки тому +1

      No, I have not. I have done one on heaving to, which I think is a suberb technique even for normal weather, when you just need some rest. I actually didnt know about lying ahull, and I would be a little afraid to use it. I would doubt that the rudder position would be enough to prevent the boat from ending up parallell to the waves, with the risc of being slipped over by a breaking wave.

    Intressant metod!
    Funderar på om man med kloka placeringar av (reglerbara) brytblock (mellan mast och för) skulle kunna använda motsatta sidans fockskot.
    Det jag är ute efter är två fördelar:
    1. Slippa en tamp rakt över sittbrunn
    2. Möjlighet att skapa en konstruktion som möjliggör att byta bog utan att lämna sittbrunn

    • @LindaLindenauSailing
      @LindaLindenauSailing  2 роки тому +1

      Förlåt sent svar, har varit till havs 3v.
      Det tror jag säkert går att lösa. Med tillräckligt långa skot borde du kunna ha båda sidorna riggade, och bara sätta andra sidan på rorkulten och byta sida på resåren. O frigöra sittbrunnen med ett extra block på varje sida

  • @Gorkigorkigorki

    Går det inte att använda genuans skot istället för en till lina?

    • @LindaLindenauSailing
      @LindaLindenauSailing  2 роки тому +1

      Nja, det blir ju konstig form på genuan om man fäster skotet på motsatt sida av båten.

      Tack! Sånt blir jag så glad att höra! Det är ju själva syftet med mina filmer. Tyvärr har jag haft så dåligt med tid i år så det har inte blivit nån film på länge.

    I had a 16 ft mechanix illustrated sailboat called blue moon it had a cabin and was big enough for my wife an kids to sit inside an play boardgames when it was stormy or for me to sit read a book and it would sail itself on any point except down wind , i tied the tiller off an it sailed itself spent many summers drinking beer an jumping off the side letting it tow me when it got to hot and many a squall sitting inside reading til it passed with the heater on an it would just go i never even reduced sail with fifty mph gusts it just leaned abit an kept going of course it was a very heavy 16 ftr , i think it's as much the boat as anything to self steer really
