Yeah but you're just stuck on that little square I don't know if I would dig that too much I like to walk around the stage and not feel a huge difference by step in three feet one way or the other
it depends on the musical environment, I usually don't walk anywhere :D@@bartpike441 I used one of those platforms a few times, very cool stuff! But if you want to walk and feel the rumble, get a @getbackbeat on your strap, I use one of them for 2 years.
Nice insight view, not too much gear, which I really like=) the platform is supercool, I would like to try out. Thank you and good luck with the tour!😉
Awesome, simple but effective. And i love the idea of the vibtrating platform. Pro tip for the earbuds: if they are made out of hard material, you can ask in a hearing aid shop, if they can put on a "Haftbeschichtung" (don't know how it's called in english ^^). It's basicly a laquer which gives the earpiece more grip on the surface, so it doesn't move out as easily. But, it has to be redone once in a while.
This young lady is so talented I like to clean setting on our bass best and as far as the in-ears/thing to stand on what you're hearing in your in ears and feeling there is not necessarily going to the room and it also in my opinion causes tonight is with ears. I personally know that I've had damage from using them but also from playing with big rigs so it's a trade off but at least I know how the room sounds through a live rig. I sure do love and respect this young ladies playing she blows my doors off
Thanks for sharing your setup Julia!, that P&D platform I saw for the first time, but looks like a great option! You can go DI and still feel the feedback
That vibration platform is so strange, never seen that before. Cannot decide this is good idea or not lol. Anyway i love Julia, wish you have a great time being on stage
Hi Julia, thanks for sharing. I wonder why the VM is your main bass ? Is the TM not your custom bass seen in the video at Sandberg ? Is it about PU configuration ? Break a leg for your shows ;)
I know we all have diferent shaped ears. Even with custom moulds, In-Ears can still come loose if the Ear shape doesn't give a good anchor. Micropore tape can help here. White paper type can be coloured with make-up OR There is the clear plastic type. Paper breathes better IMO
Great setup!! Love those Sandberg basses. And the platform is something really cool!! I just have one question about your acoustic bass, which strings are you using with it?
Next time you get fitted for custom ear molds for your monitors, have them have you use a bite block. It should help them stay in better, even if smiling or other facial movements. Also, they may be able to tweak the fit on those a bit to give you a little more security so they don’t fall out when you smile. A professional audiologist should be able to do that for you.
Okay, I'm not smart, so tell me about the platform that vibrates. I assume it's driven by a dedicated channel created in the main mixing board, but what makes the platform vibrate? Is the platform something that's commercially available, or is a diy project, something as simple as a bass speaker face down, or what? I want one!
All custom made in-ears I have ever tried are a little bit stiff - I still wonder why Ultimate Ears does not add caracteristics of memory foam to their pricey otoplastics.
Weiter so🙂
I once saw Sandy at Frankfurt International baggage claim on the other side. She saw me looking and turned away and walked off with her bags. It was only then that I realized who it was. No one I was with believed me. That was the last time I saw a "promi" anywhere and like 12 years ago.
My two favourite female bass players are Julia Hofer and Kinga Głyk.....and I just cannot figure out who is more beautiful 🙂it probably depends on the outfit of the given day ;-)
That little platform that allows you to feel the vibration is such a cool idea.

What a great combination - Thomann's and Julia ! I think they have been excellent for each other.
I have seen Bass players standing on a platform before and wondered why, and you explained why, thanks so much!
Julia is awesome. Love her playing and her energy in general.
Thank you Julia.
I’ve always loved Julie’s accent, but I love that part of the world.
ALWAYS enjoy any video where Julia shares with us! Thanks for the tour!
And thank you for showing us. Wish you a fantastic weekend.
I recently bought a Sandberg California 4 string because of you - they don’t really sell them in the US but I absolutely love it.
Nice bass guitar - Chicago Music exchange sells Sandberg in the US
Saw the Show in Hamburg, way better than expected and Julia played godlike.
Another fantastic option other than the platform is the BACKBEAT that fits on your strap so you aren't confined to one spot. It's amazing.
Tried one of these at SNAMM 2019 and it was really fun. A little tricky to get the positioning just right, but it's worth checking out.
Let's all take a moment and agree with Julia: "...and the bass is gone. I hate that."
Bass.
It is why we are here.
What an awesome invention, that platform!!
Eich Amplification makes an awesome transducer platform called "THe Bass Board". Great folks and great gear. Thank you for giving us your rundown.
I have one of those porter and davies platforms and even practice with it…it keeps peace in the valley with the neighbors.
Julia, I laughed out loud when you described losing all the bass frequencies when you laughed or smiled on stage and your in-ears start popping out!
That's cool stuff! Have fun during your tour, Julia!
Julia is pure class
Oh god that matte metallic red paint… what a stunning bass
Bass in the place! Nice bass boat, that’s bigger than my 1st New York City apartment!
The floor in that apartment also shook , subways 😣
Julia is the coolest ever.
Love you Julia!!!❤
Very interesting...all the best with the tour!
Thank you !
A very smart live rig.
Great Gear
Julia ist cool !
Huhn....never knew such a vibration platform monitor even existed. Very cool.
Loved your basematt Never heard about something like that Kul -thanks for sharing Yf....
That was cool, thanks for sharing Julia.
All the best for the tour !
Nice insight view, not too much gear, which I really like=) the platform is supercool, I would like to try out. Thank you and good luck with the tour!😉
Interesting, you seem well prepared for your job. Enjoy 🙂
I know that was one sweet concert, thanks for sharing
Grazie a te Julia ❤
That platform thing is very interesting. never heard of that before!
Enjoy your tour ❤
Love your overdrive! Keeps The low end solid
Thanks Julia for sharing how you get that beautiful sound from your bass. It is a privilege.
Do you have a tour in Madrid Spain? We will wait for you
Awesome setup! I love your Passion, it comes through in your playing. Thank You 😊
Cool. Waiting for Julia rig rundown for a while now..
Nice setup. I like your main Sandberg.
Awesome, simple but effective. And i love the idea of the vibtrating platform.

Love it Julia ,thank you . I have a similar set up ,except with an HX stomp .(For gigs where we cant bring amps) .
thanks for sharing
Julia rules!

An awesome set of bass guitars mixed with a sweet sound system. I hope one day to see video of you playing live.
Lololoool 😄 sehr sehr cool 🥳👌
YOU ROCK
Amazing i want more videos!!
Fabulous. 🙏
Thanks for sharing your setup Julia!, that P&D platform I saw for the first time, but looks like a great option! You can go DI and still feel the feedback
Right on … Cool 🙌🏽
I did wonder who Julia played for outside of Thomann... shes a brilliant bassist
I've tried using a pre amp pedal live and it was terrible. I found that if you just use an amp head direct into the board you'll get a better tone.
Very sympathetic!
any thoughts about in-ears for bassists - I've never found a set that didn't drop the bass often, and I doubt it's cause I was smiling either.
Nice rig!
When are you going to tour the USA?
The platform is a great innovation. Does she use essentially as wedge back up vs iems? What is her preference?
That vibration platform is so strange, never seen that before. Cannot decide this is good idea or not lol.
Anyway i love Julia, wish you have a great time being on stage
such a cool idea and great feeling :D

Hi nice simple setup. Do you have any info on the platform your using.

what happened to the blue bass :)
Dance Dance Revolution floor. #DancingWithMyself
Can we buy your Sandberg signature bass? I love how it looks!
I know we all have diferent shaped ears.
Even with custom moulds, In-Ears can still come loose if the Ear shape doesn't give a good anchor.
Micropore tape can help here.
White paper type can be coloured with make-up

I love when great bass players have only 3 pedals because I can just sit and think "I'm the problem, not the gear".

"That's BASS'ically it." - Yep!
Julia & Yasi Hofer
What kinds of direct box do you have or do you just go through the pre Amp
That carpet thing. Is it good for apartments?
A Day To Remember RIG please
Julia, are you playing any key/synth bass? or that being covered by the keyboard player or backing tracks?
Okay, I'm not smart, so tell me about the platform that vibrates. I assume it's driven by a dedicated channel created in the main mixing board, but what makes the platform vibrate? Is the platform something that's commercially available, or is a diy project, something as simple as a bass speaker face down, or what? I want one!
Oh my goodness, she's so beautiful.
All custom made in-ears I have ever tried are a little bit stiff - I still wonder why Ultimate Ears
does not add caracteristics of memory foam to their pricey otoplastics.
That platform would be nothing for me, is there something that does the same while running around on stage?
Would be cool to see that feature in a vest.
Yes, there is. Check the backbeat, it's basically a rumble pack that goes attached to your strap and gives you the feel of a big amp behind you.
Where is Your tuner?
😎🤟❤️
What is the brand of the main bass
Sandberg
Waiting fot Julia to show us the miracle that was The Ox, Mister Thinderfingers himself ……. John Entwistle!
i have 2 carvin 6 string basses same type of pickup set up. jazz and humbucker single coil. have a good day.
glad to learn about your bass guitar setup!
I’ve gone a bit nuts with my equipment lately..it would take awhile to provide the lowdown
hmm they should invent bassing-shoes instead of the platform :D
Next time you do IEM molds, tell the audiologist about your smiling problem. They may have you smile or bite down on a spacer during your impressions.
I wonder why she loses the bass sound if an in-ear monitor comes out. Shouldn't she still get bass from the platform, since that's what it's for?

Don't laugh or smile Julia, maintain "bass face"!
I once saw Sandy at Frankfurt International baggage claim on the other side. She saw me looking and turned away and walked off with her bags. It was only then that I realized who it was. No one I was with believed me. That was the last time I saw a "promi" anywhere and like 12 years ago.

Hey have to thank you for dropping Kinga Glyk’s name. I don’t know what rock I’ve been living under. Just wow……
@@stevew3421 Incredible, isn't she.....both are ;-)
Yes.
Closed captioning says your five-string has a hamburger pickup. 😆 I think they meant "humbucker."
I want to be your Zuma...💙👊😎
I'm a Julia groupie
the issue 'bout the IN ear disaster laughing OUT ear erkläring eine Menge.
Julia, i have a solution for your ear things falling out when you smile.
Duct tape them to your ears.
