Hi Marcin really great videos keep it up so pleasing to still see someone using Red Gills, these lures were developed by my late father the concept for the tail came from him watching jet fighters landing and deploying a parachute, The family unfortunately sold the company several years ago but it looks like the new owners have moved forward with lure designs. I feel like I would like to get back into lure development myself in the near future as this seems to be an ever expanding market you really seem blessed with an amazing fishery over there 👍🏼
wow Ian, that's amazing, thanks for coming over here and commenting. I do use red gill for years and even been chatting to the new owners about options moving it forward. You should definitely pursue that, if it's an option. I would love to learn more if you do!
Fantastic! I have been getting myself ready for using my spinning rod for the first time this year. Hoping to catch sea bass from the shore behind the rocks at low tide. I have many different lures in by kit. Floating, surface, metal, and soft . Too many I'm thinking now. You have showed me the answer to the question that has been playing on my mind for sometime now." How to make it look real?". Eureka! One fish chasing another is the both simple and effective solution. Why didn't I think of that? Perhaps I have too many lures to choose from, making my only choice simply by changing one lure for another. Seeing your rig in the water was so convincing and will I'm sure set off the feeding instincts of fish like Trout and Bass. I am going up to my studio and tie up some of these teasers. Thanks for posting your tips. Today you have made an old fisherman hopeful, happy and keen to cast his line. Tight lines
Brilliant to get a comment like that. Thank you for that and happy I was able to help. In fairness, the rig is very, very good. I had many anglers reporting back to me how it helped them catching their first bass or the biggest bass. With that said, don't worry too much about making it look real. You will be working your lures at a certain speed. One option is to imitate something very close. I find westin sandy andys, OSP Do Live stick, Evobass lures and many more. But then you get a lot of reaction bites, just from working your lure at a certain speed. Not too slow so they could investigate it, not mad fast. Just fast enough so they don't have too much time to inspect and need to make a yay or nay call
*It's great caught caught a brown trout on the first cast. **enjoyable.fishing** recommend if it was a little smaller it would be more effective for different species*
Hi Marcin, Brilliant videos, thanks for all the tips, especially this one. On a recent morning session during a sw scotland fishing competition I had a big group of fish and some birds feeding on something 30 yard in front of me, I tried everything i had and was getting absolutely nothing. Until i remembered watching this and that id bought some sandeel flies and made a crude variation of your rig to try. Stuck it on Infront of my favourite hard lure and bam straight away fish on after a few turns of the handle. It went on like this for the next 45min catching fish upto 55cm nearly every other cast. Will definately make some myself and be using again. cheers and tight lines 🎣
@@MarcinKantor I pretty much kept it the same size as you showed in the video unless I knew I was in an area with big bass. I did switch to a 5inch sand eel fly once above an 8inch Lunker City Slug-Go and landed a decent fish of 32inches on the teaser! You should definitely cross the pond sometime and give it a try! The bites just started to pick up here, but It'll be in full swing in another two weeks!
Mirza, I am in NY as well. Did this rig hurt your casting distance compared to the traditional teaser on a drop we do over here? Did you use a tactical angler clip and 30 pound fluorocarbon? Thanks
Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.
I try this after watching this video and bought some nice ready make weedless teaser rigs on ebay, this type of fishing is very good thank you for sharing
Amazing. I used to fish with teasers, but this construction is way superior! And to make it easier: I first attach the knot/line to the hook and then I make the fly... After that I will slip the knot towards the eye and superglue it...

I don't think it's the matter of the location unfortunately, the mackerel are very scarce at the moment, hearing the same feedback everywhere! And thank you🙏
Hey Marcin, fantastic tip thank you. Just wondering is there any advantage in leaving the tag end of your knot longer and passing it through the eye of the fly-hook and up to a breakaway clip or swivel? This way you have a continuous length of line from the swivel right down to your lure at the end.
Fantastic video, only just stumbled on you and have subscribed, great idea I will be trying this week end, just out of interest what pliers are they you are using ?
Hi Marcin, I’m only starting to get back into fishing and think your videos are great, really fun and great for my learning. The lures and various tackler your using, is there a specific supplier you would recommend as I need to start updating my inventory 😄 best regards Kevin (Donegal)
Hi Kevin. I don't use one brand but rather whatever lures are best imo. I have a few other videos on the bass. Especially the one on best lures 2020 gives details of some of my most trusted lures. Have a look there and read descriptions of my videos. Best of luck
Hi Marcin, late to the party, but this is awesome! Would love to know where you get the fly from and any suggestions for a good rod for a 2500 reel. Thanks.
Jonny, PM me on social media, I'll give you details of the lad who ties my teasers! My best rods are Favorite Skyline, I helped designing some, they're really good. 2500 is too small for that imo, it will go in no time. 3000 or even 4000. Shimanos for sure, depending on your budget
@@MarcinKantor I did a bit more research and saw a video from a guy which used a similar setup as yours, but attached the teaser using a twisted dropper loop. This creates some extra distance between the fly and the leader line. This could make this rig also very usable for other fish which risk damaging the leader faster, I would think.
Hello Marcin, my name is Angelo and I am writing to you from Italy. I recently subscribed to your channel and I "devoured" in the blink of an eye your videos to say the least spectacular. Congratulations!!! In the circumstance I ask you if the fly that you apply on the end of the line can be purchased. If so, I would like to know if you know of any website to turn to. I look forward to hearing from you about it. Kind regards
Hello. Your video are realy Top Top. J fish bass in France /Normandy. The fly teaser is an excellent idea. J see on that video, you've a silver heavy spoon . Could you tell me the exact model.??? We have'nt it in France. Best regards
cheers!! it is called Kilty Catcher and it comes in two sizes. Smaller great for seatrout and bass, larger for bass. It is an Irish one, so you will have to buy online in Ireland. Or else use something like savage gear seeker
Hi Marcin, really enjoyed the vid. One question, having made the rig approx 90cm are you then clipping it on and off from a leader on the mainline? You suggest that you can change from a lure to the rig easily but surely that would mean 180cm of fluro with clips etc which could cause problems with the rod tip?
You're correct there Michael, but no issues whatsoever with the tip. I use gt knot which has virtually no bulk to it and regularly bring it through the eyes. Thank you!
Hi Marcin, great videos and just realised we have a mutual fishing companion in Charles Nelson…. Do you have a link to the fly you are using as the teaser. I can only seem to find short shank hooks or hook shanks that are coated in Mylar etc. I’m even considering attempting tying my own but I’d rather they didn’t look as though a five year old has tied them !
great video and i want to try this, but can i ask..... do you need to make the fly AFTER you have used tied the flouro knot? eg. tie up a bare hook, then add feathers etc yourself? i have a few bass flies, but there is no room on the hook to tie this knot to them???
I used your method and it certainly induces more hits, however I do find not all hookup. Do you think this is where the fish are hitting the teaser? They do have a 1/0 hook
Hard to say. Bass often stun the bait fish by flairing their Gill plates without the intention the get the Lure inside their mouth right away... Maybe it's the hook size? My teasers would be size 6 or size 8 hooks
The teaser is a good idea but I'm concerned about losing my main lure. Could you use a short dropper(snood) to the teaser and tie a separate line off the clip to your pricey lure?
Tried the snood Paul, didn't like it, it was catching a lot of snags and weeds and I stopped using it. Never lost any lure, nor the fly using the setup presented. 👍
@@MarcinKantor I'll try it with a spoon 😃 great videos. I enjoyed the one where the old fella kept hooking the sea trout and you learnt that the weight of the lure was losing the fish 👍🥄

Hey Marcin, fantastic tip thank you. Just wondering is there any advantage in leaving the tag end of your knot longer and passing it through the eye of the fly-hook and up to a breakaway clip or swivel? This way you have a continuous length of line from the swivel right down to your lure at the end.
it might work Alan, test it out and let us know! I tried to have a fly on a 15cm tag end line before
Fantastic video, only just stumbled on you and have subscribed, great idea I will be trying this week end, just out of interest what pliers are they you are using ?
Thank you. Those are carbon pliers from Favorite Fishing
Hi great video as always can you please tell me what distance the teaser is from your lure .cheers
Cheers, usually about 3ft. Looks natural then
Hi Marcin,
I’m only starting to get back into fishing and think your videos are great, really fun and great for my learning.
The lures and various tackler your using, is there a specific supplier you would recommend as I need to start updating my inventory 😄
best regards
Kevin (Donegal)
Hi Kevin. I don't use one brand but rather whatever lures are best imo. I have a few other videos on the bass. Especially the one on best lures 2020 gives details of some of my most trusted lures. Have a look there and read descriptions of my videos. Best of luck

Great, thanks Marcin
Super lux .
Dzięki !!!

Hello Sir .. nice ! I have a question ... can you say to me the weight of the metalic jig weight of your youtube video. Thank you for yor attencion!
12 to 24 gr mainly 👍
I love it! Have you tried it with offset hook and weedless soft plastic instead of a fly?
Thanks, I use offset hook SPs behind the fly! To imitate a fish chasing the small fly.
Hi Marcin, off topic completely here, buy like your sunglasses, what are they & can you post a link?
😉
Thanks for sharing Marcin, very informative and useful!
Glad it was helpful!
@@MarcinKantor have sent you a message via Instagram. Thank you.
Great video, I will give this a try for sure! Would you have any tips on which brand sells these teaser lures?
They're tied but my friend, the ones I have here
@@MarcinKantor I did a bit more research and saw a video from a guy which used a similar setup as yours, but attached the teaser using a twisted dropper loop. This creates some extra distance between the fly and the leader line. This could make this rig also very usable for other fish which risk damaging the leader faster, I would think.
Good info. Just one bit to be aware off is shallow grounds. The tag can get caught easier if your fishing over kelps and rocks
Very good vid
Great watch, any link to where to purchase the flies? Thanks John
A friend ties them John
@@MarcinKantor they look superb will try and source something similar
Hello Marcin, my name is Angelo and I am writing to you from Italy. I recently subscribed to your channel and I "devoured" in the blink of an eye your videos to say the least spectacular. Congratulations!!!
In the circumstance I ask you if the fly that you apply on the end of the line can be purchased. If so, I would like to know if you know of any website to turn to.
I look forward to hearing from you about it.
Kind regards
Thank you. A friend of mine here in Ireland ties them. If you PM me I will give you his details
@@MarcinKantor Ok. Grazie mille della tua disponibilità. Attendo tua risposta circa i dettagli.
Cordiali saluti
Thanks a lot.
Their form is tip top.!!! J ll buy them by net.
I’m even considering attempting tying my own but I’d rather they didn’t look as though a five year old has tied them !
hahahaha, better not :) Yes, Charles is a gent! drop me a message via social media and I will share details of the person who ties my own flies for me
You have a strange accent american Italian with touch of Irish .Tight lines .🤙
😂👌🎣
Am a novice, can you show me how to make the teasers fly itself plus tying, is it tied on a tube and what with
My friend here in Ireland ties them. If you want contact me via social media and I'll share his details
Nice video :)
Thanking you 🎣🎣
Hey can I ask you what chest wadders do you use when moving about on the hunt for bass?
Wychwood gorge SDS are very good, also use a pair of vision Koski
Great video Marcin. What percentage of fish are caught on the teaser in your experience? Also, what teaser flies do you use?
20-30% on the fly, but I believe the lure itself is more effective too with the fly added. Those flies exactly that were in the video
Hi Marcin, What length of mono leader are you using before adding the teaser, please?
Hi Derek, usually around 3ft
Thank you for your swift answer, I will use the same length👌.@@MarcinKantor
What flys/hooks do you use?
Great video too, can’t wait to try this method!
Hi Nathan, my friend makes these flies. Sizes 6 & 8, sandeel patter
@@MarcinKantor thanks man
Hi. Where do you get your teaser flies from?
a friend of mine her ein Ireland ties them, if you reach via PM I can share his details
Hi can you please tell me where i can buy these teaser lure ? Or do i have to make them ? Cheers and great vids .
if you PM me on social media, I can give you details for the guy
An easier way is braid to mini link, fluoro from mini link to lure and just clip the teaser fly to the mini link.
Yeah that would work too
I wonder whether this might work with a short soft plastic as a teaser?
tried that John, I found with the slow movement the plastic was not working
great video and i want to try this, but can i ask..... do you need to make the fly AFTER you have used tied the flouro knot? eg. tie up a bare hook, then add feathers etc yourself? i have a few bass flies, but there is no room on the hook to tie this knot to them???
No. You tie it to the ready made fly but you need to have the right fly on the right hook
Hi Marcin, which Favorite rod are you using? And another great film thanks.
Thanks Mathew, my go to is Skyline TZ 7'6'' 10-35, but have a few here 🙄 if you about to get one, you'll find a discount code in the description of the video 👍
Great video 👏 What is the source for the sandeel flys?
Suggestions on where to purchase these flies in the UK?
If you contact me via social media PM, I'll send you the details of the lad who ties them for me here in Ireland
Hi there great video. Can I ask if you have a link for the teaser flies please?
