I wish I could ask her where she feels like her musical impulse wants to go... They don't risk starting a season unless they KNOW they're going to get a few superstars out of it. That doesn't take ANYTHING away from her...I mean she's a genius obviously....but she's kind of a ringer. The show wants it to look like she just walked in off the street never having performed before because it's more exciting that way. This is a TV show people. Ratings are KING.
Cant compare her to lea michele, Lea was in broadway by the age of 8, and was a child actor before hand and winning many awards on broadway. Carly is 13, but she has the potential to go a very very long way.

If you watch the X factor Pepsi live show final, it was mentioned specifically that unlike other contestants that always required additional background voices, Carly does not always require background voices because she does handle all voice ranges perfectly. That is unique about her hence the judges called her Alien, remarking that that is impossible for a 13 year old. Carly is definitely one of the best voices on earth right now, over 22 million fans just can't be wrong about a fact.
If Britney does not play around and has Carley finish the xfactor with the diva songs, not playing around with Adele to prove anything, hell she can sing the phone book and make it great. FYI, Victoria Justice and Ross Lynch are the current stars (on Nickelodeon and Disney Channel, respectively) who children and teens LOVE. They get attention from their shows. I feel that Carly Rose may have succeeded more this year by guest starring on a few of these shows, impressing the producers, and then getting her own show in the same way Demi Lovato did it. This appears to work well for many young ladies eg. Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato.
That's not true. Read her Wikipedia page. Broadway is all she knows. She sings every bit as well (if not better) than Demi Lovato. If she finds the right genre and recording studios, she'll achieve great success as a singer. The problem is: who will buy her music? She needs to appeal to kids and teenagers now, and adults closer to when she becomes one. Maybe you're right that she belongs on Broadway FOR NOW, but I do think she sings much better than Victoria Justice or Ross Lynch.
I don't understand why everyone says Broadway is the epitome of singing achievement. She could become whatever she wants, which I'm guessing is singing as a living. If she wants to travel the world, perform concerts and make millions then she'll do that fairly easily. Broadway is fantastic but there's less chance to travel extensively.
