Got a 49 when I first wanted to join when the recruiter gave me a test and he put me on a website that helped a lot I wish I could remember what it was but I ended up getting a 88, going in at 18.
Same, I got an 19 on the 1st time then took 4months off to study. Came back and got a 43. Hardest was math but scored great on Word knowledge, Word arithmetic, Auto mechanic and Paragraph comprehension. Those 4 section help balanced out my math part. Lol
You are a good recruiter gunny, I wish i could have my luck in finding more recruiters like you, so far all my recruiters want me to be lone wolf and said not to contact them until i meet the requirements. Which is to lose 40lbs So I have been studying and pushing, 30 more pounds to go but it's a real struggle. For the meantime I want and need to study the asvab, my goals are to be in aviations or be a flight medic. Biggest thid I'd say is research the job you want to do in the military. Most kids are naive at that age. I took it with the Army just to get out of class my 10th grade year (97) it was written, did fairly well. Fast forward to my senior year I was more focused and determined to join the Marines. I asked my school counselor for a ASVAB book it was a dusty old Vietnam era book, she said you can keep it lol! I remember my SSgt. dropped me off to take it for the Marines I had just gotten off work all I remember the room was like 100 degrees everyone was sweating, and I was dead tired (everybody know's Meps is like a insane asylum, I think I dozed off a couple of times lol. My math was weak, because I hate math but my line scores and GT, AFQT were enough to enlist. Young people have to realize that it's your line scores/GT that determine your job. I was a winter recruit @ P.I. so a lot of the quotas were filled, to be a MP and I didn't want to wait anymore to ship so I settled for a Engineer job. My recruiter drove me and two other guys down to P.I. funny story great memories though. The asvab wasn't the problem it was running in the winter, I wished I was in better running shape, Like I always say young kids now have so many resources and information about joining it's mind-blowing. Thanks Guns love the channel keep hooking and jabbing! SF
Been looking for ways to study for this test. I took it after years of not having done anything school related and ended up using some basic study stuff I was provided and got a 22. (Never been great at school.) I’m now wanting to do better but been overwhelmed and unsure where to start. This has given me ways to try to study and hopefully do better. Thank You. I hope to at the very best, get a passing score and maybe something higher.
Don't feel bad. It took me 3X to score over 45...I was trying to get my line scores up but once your in, line scores don't matter. I went from Enlisted to a Warrant position offer. I had experience
I passed the PiCAT test at the armed forces office with the Marines but when I went down to MEPS in LA I was supposed to take a verification test but ended up doing that and a whole other different ASVAB that popped up out of no where that was way different then the other one I took so I bombed it and didn’t pass. I feel like I got screwed over and I’m going back soon like in 3 weeks but no matter how many times I fail I’m not gonna give up because I want to become a Marine and be a Infantry rifle man
Yeah man sounds like you took the PiCat at the recruiters office and then the confirmation test at MEPS. If you don’t score within a certain percentage , they make you take the full asvab and yeah, it can be completely different. There are 9 asvab versions I believe so that’s why it looked different. Keep studying and actually understand the information and not memorize answers. Believe me.
I studying in military college for army Ian’s I read a lot of books but I got my foot in the door got a 54 on target 😂ty for sharing this information I worked really hard it’s a huge help I am well educated
In simple terms do what U NEED TO DO , not WHAT U WANT TO DO. Once passed the test then u deserve to do whatever u would like into ur ship date. Take it from me I failed twice getting 22 and 23 now I’m gonna take it seriously and it sucks I made my recruiter upset but he has every right too and now this time I’ll decide when I’m truly ready to ace the best. Trying to join the Navy
I’m very thankful this was recommended to me today because I took the test and qualified for my branch but I did not score high enough for the jobs I wanted some I’m going to keep studying in my weak areas to bring my score up when I retake the test
great video bro i’m nervous about taking the test but i just haven’t given a shit i need to put down all the distractions and i know im going to feel confident about taking it
I take my ASVAB next Tuesday I suck in math omg this is my 3rd time taking it I’m praying I pass I been studying like crazy to the point I’m getting so stressed 😫
I failed my first test got a 14. I thought i did a good job on the test but when the recruiter told me my score i was about to give up. But i got 2 more tries i didn’t know that AR, MK, WK, PC, and GS was the main subject that gets you high scores
I failed it 8 times. School was never for me since I was a kid, I’m really struggling to pass. I’m having trouble with Arithmetic reasoning really bad. I wanna pass on the 9th try, my highest score was 27. I really want to pass.
Discipline man. You need some discipline. 8 times is a lot but doesn’t mean it’s impossible. You need to make this a priority and only then will you have the chance to be successful.
I'm struggling right now myself I made a 6 on my first try 😭 I'm just trynna learn and study the most right now hopefully I can bring my score way higher next time. I recommend studying hard if your not a good test taker like myself. Ima keep pushing until I get it I'm just not sure what will work with me to learn the things I need to learn
took the picat.. got a 64-my recruiter failed to tell me I had to ‘lock in’ my score within (however many days it was). took the asvab at my highschool.. got a 49.. decided I wanted the ‘full meps experience’.. so I retook it again at meps.. got a 35.. not good enough for the branch im trying to get into (coast guard)… so I’m retaking it in about 27 days.. hoping since I’ve been to meps before the nerves won’t get in the way.. also I’ve learned from my new recruiter that for the jobs I want, I need to focus more on AR and VE.. let’s do thisssss
Damn that’s tough. sorry to hear this. Study and focus on the big parts (math and word knowledge) if you can master those two parts you will be ok. Wishing you the best.
Now! Is a great time to join the army guys, they are offering a paid program for anyone who was to to join with a low score minimum 16-21 the maximum you will work out and they will have teachers to school you for your ASVAB… but if you make anywhere between that you are already considered in you just have to complete what ever is next like going to MEPS and getting your physical and then being cleared and picking a job and stuff Good Luck guys I passed yesterday thinking I failed lol 😅
I been out of school for 3 years and I went to take the practice test and I scored a 14%🤦🏾 I’m at Barnes and noble to buy the book like he said and hopefully I find the book and pass the actual test in a few weeks cause I’m trying to get into mechanics
Thanks a lot I was trying to find something like it can really help me to practice already I need to retake again so I hope it’s works and thanks a look bro
MATHANTICS- UA-cam channel is great for brushing up on math. they have a video for basically everything you need to learn. brush up on, Cell structure, difference between Plant Cells and Human Cells, Atoms and elements (protons, neutrons, electrons, etc) the different rock types, plate tectonics (oceanic plates, continental plates and subduction, etc) how the heart works, atmospheric layers as well as earth layers (lithosphere mantle etc) stuff like that. take notes, and review said notes before testing. that is how I passed the written part of the DMV test for my license. I missed one question.. it was because I studied and reviewed what I had studied. GOOD LUCK AND GOD SPEED FUTURE SOLDIERS, MARINES, AIRMEN AND WOMEN AND ANYONE ENLISTING! 🇺🇸⚘🇺🇸⚘🇺🇸⚘🇺🇸⚘🇺🇸⚘🇺🇸⚘🇺🇸
@@TSYONTZ of course. I try to help where I can. I used an ASVAB prep book to help me study for the GED. Not sure if I'm medically fit to serve, but I'm still going to try and study to pass the asvab just in case I am.
I am going to meps now to take the original asvab for the army and I’ll let you guys know if this video helps. Trying to enlist in the army I am 19 years old and I really want this I got a 79 on the Picat this is my second time through the process so I have to take the full asvab !
From what I've seen on the asvab, completely proves the high school I went to in Alabama was dog shit. I remember seeing a chart back then of a list of schools' testing scores compared to ours. We were at the very bottom. Alot of the stuff on the asvab I haven't seen before, at least for the Air Force. I passed it in the first try when I was 22, but I failed the vision test and didn't want to get glasses at the time. But I didn't want to really go in the infantry after learning what it was either.
So my stuff was confusing, originally Asvab score was low (this was after a third attempt) went to MEPS and did really well on my coding test (literally timer went off on the last question) and I guess some of it ties in with the personality test you take there, but thought I was doing CS because again low score and I also genuinely like to cook. I get there and turns out they refuse to give me CS and my score wasn’t “low”, enough but actually ended qualifying for most of the admin jobs (my original goal) and ended up with YN and honestly I’m happy it turned out well in the end.
Brought the Asvab Kaplan 2022 because I fail the practice with a 19 couple days ago I’m stress out because the math problem is my weakness I’m here studying like a mad man worrying bout taking the practice test next week again
Good. You already took a step in the right direction by getting the book. Not focus on your weak points and take multiple practice tests to track your improvement. Best of luck
@@TSYONTZthank you sir going next week to meps to take actual test score a 40 on the practice I’m still studying for the actual test on 5 parts I know it’s longer only have a week left to study wish me luck

Special forces is MUCH more than test scores. Those dudes are the absolute best of the best. You can get a perfect score and crush the asvab yet still fail out. You should condition your body but more importantly your MIND before embarking on that journey. Hope it all works out man 🤙🏼
@@TSYONTZ yes of course. That’s something I’m already working on. And training mentally. But I’m strictly asking for help with the scores because I could train to become Superman but if I don’t have the numbers there’s no selection. The video is full of resources. 5 at least that have helped many people obtain a passing score and enlist into the military. Make the time and put in the effort man and you’ll make it happen.
I failed the test at Meps bad I made a 9 I had to wait six months to retake the end of the six months is over I ordered the asvap for dummies book and just got it now this time I want to pass it my parents are trying to put me out and the military is the only option I have left

Taylor give you a personal fun fact about my journey to become a Jarhead I didn't take my asvab until my junior year in high school at the RSS because I moved from small town Texas to Waco middle of junior year so at the walked into the recruiter he says yes lets test you. I think I ended up with 55 or somewhere near the score. He told me I qualify for 0400 Logistics so after bootcamp I went to NAB Littlecreek Virginia for Maintenance Management School did well class and then off to the fleet. Quick background on me I signed myself up January 2, 1987, went to bootcamp from October 5th until January 15th 1988. Yes admittedly retreaded back to 1st phase. Can I give you a recommendation on another discussion on here is talk about what happens if you fail to complete 1st phase to move to 2nd phase. Another discussion is to talk about the rifle range and what it takes to qualify as Marine. Lastly I would like to ask about swim qualifications if still required. Looking forward to seeing your feedback. Semper Fi Devildog Brother.
I signed for the army and I failed the ASVAB 2 times and they said there wasn’t another test until 6 months but I know that’s bullshit because normally it’s every 30 days it just means they lost faith and don’t want to take me ok I get that I’m trying the marines now I know that for every branch the test is the same but as a man I will admit when I fucked up yes I failed those 2 times because i didn’t study I thought I didn’t have the time to considering the fact that I work a lot but it’s no excuse Luckily since I switched branches a have a 30 day period to retake it and this time I will study do what ever I can and put that extra work in💪🏾 because literally this is all I have left FUCK schooling already bad enough I struggled for 12 years in it so other then the military there’s the streets I want to go into infantry I will go the old fashion way an order the book itself if I fail again then I will lose all hope for PS: and I don’t understand why the fuck do we have to take a fucking test to do what? Have people screaming in your face 24/7??
Hey man I can hear the frustration in your message so let me see if I can help. The Army was correct when it comes to retaking the ASVAB. After your second failure you DO have to wait 6 months to retest so they weren’t lying. Also since every branch uses the same MEPS (military entrance processing center) and same ASVAB test, you may be out of luck (just keeping it real) If the Marines somehow have a way for you to retest within the next 30 days, DONT BLOW IT. DO EVERYTHING YOU CAN TO MAKE SURE YOU PASS. You have to give a shit and actually sit down and study, You have to make it a PRIORITY and focus on the test. Take practice tests, identify the areas where you’re weak and focus on those. Don’t be a victim man, you’re better than this. Just put in the work you already said you didn’t so you can have a better future for yourself. Hope it all works out man. Keep me posted
Since you know what you’re not good at, it will make the studying easier since you know what to focus on already. Try watching UA-cam videos on those sections to get some tips and tricks to help out.
I made a 20 on my second time taking it. I've been watching grammar hero for the past couple days for math I have a month to to get a 31 before I have to wait six months to take it again
I took My test got my results today got an 11 my recruiter told me this To get in, the minimum is 21. To qualify for MP is different. Once you are in with a 21-30 you will go to a school to improve score. Once done with that you will qualify for MP. If you score 31 or more you might qualify for MP. But let’s focus on studying and passing with a 21 or higher! I just wanna know is this true
I scored a 25 and my recruiter is recommending me to go to a prep program the army offers, I can’t seem to agree to it. Having a hard time saying yes to that lol
Where's my question I wonder what would happen if somebody has a disability the autism or dyslexia how would they prepare the ASVAB for me I have dyslexia I am just curious
Most importantly I wonder this for me I have autism at dyslexia but my dyslexia I can't identify words I wonder if that's going to affect people like me
I can’t seem to get this answer: I have the Kaplan study book and flash cards. Can I figure out my score thus far on my own, by taking the practice tests? OR do I HAVE to take the test with the recruiter to get my score? Trying to be ready before I talk to the recruiter. I’d like to know if I’m ready or not.

Took this test in highshcool, by the end of the month, all of the branches called me. Joined the corps straight out of highshcool 93-2000. Semper Fi!
Yep it’s really like that lol
Got a 49 when I first wanted to join when the recruiter gave me a test and he put me on a website that helped a lot I wish I could remember what it was but I ended up getting a 88, going in at 18.
Send me the link pls.
which website?
I took it the first time and scored a 19, took it a second time and got a 31. 6 years later and I am going strong. Never quit
What was the hardest part of the ASVAB for you?
Same, I got an 19 on the 1st time then took 4months off to study. Came back and got a 43.
Hardest was math but scored great on Word knowledge, Word arithmetic, Auto mechanic and Paragraph comprehension. Those 4 section help balanced out my math part. Lol
So what's your most if you scored a 31? Do you enjoy the work?
I really was having a hard time but the asvab test prep help a lot man I’m taking my asvab test Monday
let us know how you do💪🏽
u pass bro?
You are a good recruiter gunny, I wish i could have my luck in finding more recruiters like you, so far all my recruiters want me to be lone wolf and said not to contact them until i meet the requirements. Which is to lose 40lbs
So I have been studying and pushing, 30 more pounds to go but it's a real struggle.
For the meantime I want and need to study the asvab, my goals are to be in aviations or be a flight medic. I appreciate and enjoyed this video no B.S. and straight to the point, im going to try the Keplar study book.
Thank you for your advice
Thanks, i appreciate that! you’re right! the struggle is real but i can tell you that it’s absolutely worth it in the end. you have to want it more than your excuses. keep pushing and working towards your goal and WHEN you make it, come back and let me know 🤙🏼🔥
@@TSYONTZ but thank you brother I pray that God wills for me to enter that journey
Don't feel bad my recruiter had me run with a guy to lose weight. You can do it lean meats rice and veggies.
(Never been great at school.)
I’m now wanting to do better but been overwhelmed and unsure where to start.
I feel like I got screwed over and I’m going back soon like in 3 weeks but no matter how many times I fail I’m not gonna give up because I want to become a Marine and be a Infantry rifle man
I will recommend you working with Mr David he has key questions and answers for your exam
Believe me.
@@TSYONTZ so I have to study 150 words
No but you need to have a basic understanding of pre tenses and word structure to help you identify words.
That happens to me to dont worry keep study we gonna make it i supose to take it again in couple weeks to keep strong a focus.....
I studying in military college for army Ian’s I read a lot of books but I got my foot in the door got a 54 on target 😂ty for sharing this information I worked really hard it’s a huge help I am well educated
really good tips, also the small jokes made me laugh. Im focusing on the ASVAB this time and Im going to get a high line score this time.
Thanks, yeah I try to keep the video entertaining as well 😂
In simple terms do what U NEED TO DO , not WHAT U WANT TO DO. Trying to join the Navy
thanks man! i really needed this type of motivation.
Awesome man I’m glad I could help!🔥🔥
I’m very thankful this was recommended to me today because I took the test and qualified for my branch but I did not score high enough for the jobs I wanted some I’m going to keep studying in my weak areas to bring my score up when I retake the test
Take it to heart and continue studying! it’s definitely worth it and once you pass and get a great job and look back ,you’ll be glad you did 🔥
Great video. Now I know more about how to better prepare for and excel on the ASVAB exam.
Glad you liked it
Man I’m 34 and I just took a practice and scored a 24 Definitely was the math that got me
Study asvab specific math. UA-cam it and follow along.
The maths part and English makes up your score. The remaining parts helps them determine which area you can do well in terms of work.
great video bro i’m nervous about taking the test but i just haven’t given a shit i need to put down all the distractions and i know im going to feel confident about taking it
I take my ASVAB next Tuesday I suck in math omg this is my 3rd time taking it I’m praying I pass I been studying like crazy to the point I’m getting so stressed 😫

Got a 77 on the practice I’m going for that 99!
I failed my first test got a 14. I thought i did a good job on the test but when the recruiter told me my score i was about to give up. But i got 2 more tries i didn’t know that AR, MK, WK, PC, and GS was the main subject that gets you high scores
Yep. The first 5 sections are what make up your overall score. The most important sections are math, word knowledge and arithmetic reasoning
Try the app, book, UA-cam, etc. everyone learns different so you need to find the way you learn and do that.
Bro I got a 19 on my first practice test my recruiter gave up on me he said army is better off for me
@@marvelbrian3353 I finally passed and I’m finally a Marine.
took the picat.. got a 64-my recruiter failed to tell me I had to ‘lock in’ my score within (however many days it was).
took the asvab at my highschool.. got a 49..
decided I wanted the ‘full meps experience’.. so I retook it again at meps.. got a 35.. not good enough for the branch im trying to get into (coast guard)…
so I’m retaking it in about 27 days..
hoping since I’ve been to meps before the nerves won’t get in the way.. also I’ve learned from my new recruiter that for the jobs I want, I need to focus more on AR and VE..
let’s do thisssss
Damn that’s tough. sorry to hear this. Study and focus on the big parts (math and word knowledge) if you can master those two parts you will be ok. Wishing you the best.
Going into the 10th grade and wanting to take the asvab so i think this video helps bit when i take it i will come back here so wish me luck
Take it seriously man and you’ll be just fine. 🤙🏼
I just got 25 afqt on my asvab, I hope I can do better next time enough to pass.
Use the tips provided and you 100% will 🔥
I go Tommorow for the practice hope I pass 🙏🏾

MATHANTICS- UA-cam channel is great for brushing up on math. they have a video for basically everything you need to learn.
brush up on, Cell structure, difference between Plant Cells and Human Cells, Atoms and elements (protons, neutrons, electrons, etc) the different rock types, plate tectonics (oceanic plates, continental plates and subduction, etc)
how the heart works, atmospheric layers as well as earth layers (lithosphere mantle etc)
stuff like that. take notes, and review said notes before testing.
that is how I passed the written part of the DMV test for my license. I missed one question.. it was because I studied and reviewed what I had studied.

I am going to meps now to take the original asvab for the army and I’ll let you guys know if this video helps. Trying to enlist in the army I am 19 years old and I really want this I got a 79 on the Picat this is my second time through the process so I have to take the full asvab !
How did it go?
From what I've seen on the asvab, completely proves the high school I went to in Alabama was dog shit. I remember seeing a chart back then of a list of schools' testing scores compared to ours. We were at the very bottom.
Alot of the stuff on the asvab I haven't seen before, at least for the Air Force. I passed it in the first try when I was 22, but I failed the vision test and didn't want to get glasses at the time. But I didn't want to really go in the infantry after learning what it was either.
Quizlet got me through high School
Thanks for the advice I'm going taking the asvab second time trying to get a higher score from 41. Plus I must lose more weight for Navy.
No problem. Glad I could help! Best of luck!
Thanks for the guide I am trying to go to the air force
Brought the Asvab Kaplan 2022 because I fail the practice with a 19 couple days ago I’m stress out because the math problem is my weakness I’m here studying like a mad man worrying bout taking the practice test next week again
Good. You already took a step in the right direction by getting the book. Not focus on your weak points and take multiple practice tests to track your improvement. Best of luck

I want to join Special Forces and become a green beret. The score requirements are 110 GT and 100 CO I really hope I can pass and make the numbers.
Ur a legend.
I signed for the army and I failed the ASVAB 2 times and they said there wasn’t another test until 6 months but I know that’s bullshit because normally it’s every 30 days it just means they lost faith and don’t want to take me ok I get that I’m trying the marines now I know that for every branch the test is the same but as a man I will admit when I fucked up yes I failed those 2 times because i didn’t study I thought I didn’t have the time to considering the fact that I work a lot but it’s no excuse Luckily since I switched branches a have a 30 day period to retake it and this time I will study do what ever I can and put that extra work in💪🏾 because literally this is all I have left FUCK schooling already bad enough I struggled for 12 years in it so other then the military there’s the streets I want to go into infantry I will go the old fashion way an order the book itself if I fail again then I will lose all hope for
PS: and I don’t understand why the fuck do we have to take a fucking test to do what?

Yes you can use any year book to study. Material is all the same. Fun fact
You can go online and take a practice test and get a score. Although it won’t be “official” it will give you a good idea where you stand
