I did the practice test nothing I have been studying on my asvab book was on this practice test it sucks because I study from book and when I take my test there’s nothing really on there from the book I mean there is some but not all
Man I am so screwed my ass never paid attention in math

For anyone worried about ASVAB math, don't worry! I was a C student in middle school and high school and I still scored a 91 on my ASVAB. I went to my local library and reviewed using ASVAB test prep books and one for teachers called the CBEST test prep and it got me ready enough to confidently take the test. I booked the job I wanted and I'm loving the Air Force so far. Thanks again Jody for an awesome video, and good luck to you all my future wingmen!
what’s the total question?
What about if u don’t know the answer to the questions in the ASVAB book
What job did you get?
It’s not as easy as your making it seem

for any test, really pay attention on the problems. on the second problem, 5. , if you realize 1/4th of 500 alone is 125 by procces of elimination the answer is c because its the only one highter than 125.
Not going to lie, being out of school for a long time now… this makes me discouraged🫤good stuff though.
Ahh man. Something to think about, everyone deals with this anytime they do something they’re unfamiliar or uncomfortable with. Without practice, anything you think about doing seems overwhelming. Just start little by little my guy, eventually with enough time and practice, the math will start feeling like tying your shoes. I hope that helps, and hope to see you conquer this one day. 🙌🏽💪🏽

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I was freaking out that I forgot all my math and already you're explaining it better than my study guides!
You should keep doing these! These are a big help
Awesome. I think I can do a couple more. This was fun.
Yeah please do that this would help a lot
As a math tutor with 10+ years of experience, I just want to say you do a good job =).
Thank you so much. That’s very reassuring. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Thank you so much for making this video! its helping me so much study for the military asvab! i had such hard issues with understanding where to start word problems. you really help my learning disability understand a different perspective of learning!!!!
I’m smart enough to clean restrooms. Taking the mock asvab was discouraging
I got a 93 on the asvab in high school. At the time I had no plan on joining the military. Now that I am, I’m glad to see its still easy 🥳
2:18 😠 my brain lol . Feel like I’m back in 3rd trying to keep up 😢😂😂😂
Frankly, I think he overcomplicates this by trying to add the fractions. 500/20 = 25 and 25x3 = 75, so Dana filled 75. 500/4 = 125, so Megan filled 125. 125+75 = 200, so it's C. I took math all the way through calculus, and my favorite witticism from that teacher, whenever we were trying to do something like this, is "when math is hard, make it easier". It really is good to just take a step back and think for a second if there's a faster way to do things if you're struggling; in this case, why try to add the fractions? No one told you you had to! Good luck.
@@tandemdwarf745
From what i noticed your method is way simpler
Because its just about the 20 and 4 on the fraction. So you just divided the 500 by 20 right? And the 500 by 4,
and
then add both numbers and thats our answer?
@@tandemdwarf745
Wait i'm confused
can you explain real simple where you got the 3 to multiply and why we dont do that for the other fraction?
@k1ngan1m3tr011 the first time, the fraction we are multiplying by is 3/20. Because multiplication and division are on the same level of order of operations, you can divide by 20 first and then multiply by 3. However, in the second case we're multiplying by 1/4, so all we have to do is divide by 4 because multiplying by 1 doesn't change the answer
Glad I'm not the only one hehe
Didn't have trouble with the math in particular, but I know I'm gonna need to study for the mechanical and part of electrical. In the process of trying to join right now, hoping everything works out! Your videos have definitely been helpful so far

Old dude here (65)...and I got them right! Maybe I should enlist...again! Good stuff Jody with a Y.
Please make more of these! ❤
For 2:23 you could just divide 8/20 to give you .4 then multiply that by the 500 which gives you 200 if you don’t want to do all those extra steps too.
Also I’m saving 5:36 to come back to 🥲
You can also divide 1/4 and 3/20, multiply by 500 and add them up lol
thank you so much! he made it so difficult 😭😫
Frankly, I think it's easier to just straight up multiply 500 by 1/4 and 3/20 and just add them together rather than mucking around with fractions when you don't really need to
After taking the practice test yes if u learn these problems you’ll pass 💯
Thank you for this and the link!💪🏾🔥
No problem good sir. 🤙🏽
for the 2nd question, i found 15 is the percent of 3/20, & obviously 25 if the percent of 1/4’s. so if u add them up it’s 40 which is also 2/5’s if u converse it to fractions which is 200/500 if u converse again
Almost cried watching someone else explain this so thank you ✨🌸
Thank you, taking my test this week, this helps a lot
I was a straight A student in high school, then dropped out of college due to burnout. Scored a 99 on the ASVAB after 2 years entirely out of school
Moral: If I got a perfect score after burning out and hating school, even taking a 2 year break, you can too with a little work and study. You got this 💯

Man, I forgot all this stuff, but I ordered asvab prep book, asvab for dummies and the GED prep book to get prepared. I plan on signing up in the next few months once my medication is out of my system but in the mean time I’m going to study and work out
I wish the asvab covered questions about history and how battles were fought, rather than just random numbers

Jody, is it true that only math knowledge, arithmetic reasoning, paragraph comprehension, and word knowledge are the only 4 tests that affect your entire AFQT? Thank you
Yes. Those 4 subjects account for your overall score. Electronics, mechanical, general science and stuff like that affects your mechanical and electrical scores. Those are important if you’re interested in doing a career like those.
You're the man Jody. Im leaving after the holidays for basic, feeling much more prepared thanks to your channel. Any advise for someone 30 or older trying to join?

Yo what did u got on the practice test
Wow what a refresher😅
Bro jus taught me more math than i have learned in all my years of school😮😂
You make it so confusing...for 4:47.
Just find 30% of 300and 45% of 300. Plus them, then minus them from 300 you are left with 75. Then minus 1st grade which is 90 from 75 you are left with 15.
Love the videos man 👍. I have my first meeting with a recruiter next week !!!
These questions are literally from my middle school and some of high-school that's too easy
You making everything harder than what it really is.
omg i thought i was the only one...like this dragging it especially the 30x300? the answer was 900 and he said 90..
@@cierralynn0303it’s 9,000😭
@@cierralynn0303umm 30x300 is 9000
3:15 easier way to do that one is find out what a quarter of 500 is and since that’s already 125 the 3/20 has to be more and there’s only one answer more than 125…
I've been out of high school for four years and I didn't even know what the ASVAB was the morning I took it. I showed up to the recruiters office and an hour later I scored a 94 on the ASVAB.
I'm not particularly smart and because the of nature of the questions, I don't believe the ASVAB has any bearing on your true intelligence so if you don't quite get the score you want, don't beat yourself up - just keep studying until you pass!
I respect what your doing but if I’m being honest I think your moving a little fast I think you should explain more why your doing what your doing, because sometimes I have to pause and really piece it together just my opinion thank you Jody.
Really helps now just got to study
For the second question I just calculated 1/4th of 500, 125, and then assume that it was 200 since that was the only number over 125.
Thank you!!
super helpful 🤙🏼
Thank you so much.
Not the best teacher but I understand😂

To everyone watching this video, before learning factorial, you should make sure you're able to do all of these questions with mental calculations.
52x98=
190,649+374,018=
76²=
80³=
80/4 - 70/9=
20/32 × 30/21=
60/3 ÷ 80/4=
√1024=
If you're capable of doing all these problems with mental calculations, you're ready to aim higher.
Idk if your serious or not but how do you do those equations in your head even with the simple multiplication I need a pencil and paper can you give some strategies or tips to begin to do these equations in your head
Trying go to the Navy scored a 40 I need that 50 ... hopefully asvab for dummies work
A lot of these problems seem super hard to do in under 40 sec each. The asvab is timed after all. I would have to study like crazy to get a really good score
Is this as hard as it gets math wise? It seems like pretty basic math and makes me feel way more comfortable about passing
for the most part. Its basically all high school and middle school math. hard asf for me but if you're good at that shit you'll get a good score.
It’s easier to work with getting a percent out of 100 instead of 300. Then you can just multiply by 3
Question 2: You did it the long way..... ALL you do is 500/20 = 25. Its 3/20 right? 25x3= 75. Then 500/4 = 125. Therefore, 175+75 = 200. EASY
Question 3: 45% + 30% = 75. Therefore, 3rd graders = 25%. 30% of 300 = 90. 25% of 300 = 75. 90-75 = 15.
I don't get question 2, how'd u know to do 500/20 in the first place?
@@InfiniteTony I was wondering that too lol
@@GootyChunks I hate it when math teachers explain it so fast and never show an in-depth on how they got the answer. 🙄 It happens all the time..

what did you score?? and how bad was the math?

question 4:50 how do we have to multiply by 3 for 30*3=90 I'm having trouble understanding where the three comes from
