If you catch an insect with your eye while driving, would you rather have sunglasses or not? Doug probably didn't have a helmet available for him.. With a custom fitted car, likely a custom fitted helmet that I wouldn't lend out to anyone just to try.

Even after watching the video, I doubt most people could remember without notes. More than just starting it, putting into gear and shifting is wild.
On the one hand, possibly irresponsible, but on the other anyone stealing a car like this isn't doing it on opportunity, besides, the wheel effectively acts like a key as you can take it with you. To steal something like this you need to do research, as there will be a tracker fitted, and what happens when you need a part? It's not going to be too hard to spot that one disappeared and another appeared from nowhere, especially given how everyone will post their pics on instagram.

The old mono, with 70hp less and heavier weight, was already faster than anything else around Evo's Anglesey test track. The old Mono Lapped in 1:07,7 and putting things into perspective: it's 6 seconds faster per lap than the Ferrari 812 Superfast. That is a bigger difference in laptime between the old mono and the Superfast, than between the Superfast and a Civic type R. Eg. going from a Ferrari superfast to a Mono R is a bigger step than going from a hot-hatch to a Superfast.

For sure! I know often he's getting cars from dealers so there's no owner to interview, but when it's a car like this that's just absolutely insane, it's fascinating to hear about living with such a bizarre vehicle.
