Does Liquid Electrical Tape Waterproof a FPV Drone?

- Next part of the this series is Liquid Electrical Tape in two different forms, aerosol, and painted with an applicator brush. I used acetone to clean off and remove anything on the AIO Flight Controllers from previous test. This is not recommended for electronics that are going to be used.
I want to be clear, that there really is no 100% waterproofing, these are just tests using alternative means of making components more water resistant. Use at your own risk! - Наука та технологія
You need a one or more coats. While the resistors, transistors and IC chips are covered, no metal whatsoever can show.those base metallic spots can short. If you need those bare to screw part securely in, use the liquid tape on the item when it is attached, being careful not to drip, splash into your drone too much. They will add weight, and shorten your range, slightly, as well as rate of climb.
Nice video
Put some dilectric greese on the harness connectors as well
silicone sealant from the tube? we used it 20years ago and it has good electrical resistance
I agree, but just have to make sure it's 100% silicone and neutral cure. Acid cure (smells like vinegar) is corrosive to copper and can damage electronics.
For waterproofing I think ill just stick to the regular conformal coating, liquid electrical tape is great for ufl's n such as it is extremely thin when it dries
Yeah the products designed for waterproofing electronics are going to be the best, granted. This series was just showing alternatives in case one does not have the funds to buy a $30 silicone conformal, or they have some of these products sitting on the shelf.
whats been the best way so far that u have seen
i want more water proofing content
I second that, great video as always crow wing fpv
