He’s got a bachelors degree in history and, more importantly, was smart enough with the money he made to retire early. Rumor has it that’s he’s still living comfortably off of his WCW money. Besides his Rolex and nice home he is frugal with his money. To me, that’s a smart man.

Man, since you are bringing this types of guests, may I suggest you bringing on Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipović? There is almost ZERO interviews with the man, he got a stroke a couple of years back and will never fight again. I understand he's not based in the US, but maybe some day he'll come or you can organize it some other way. Nobody talks about him even anymore

Personally I used to like the guy a lot, up until he turned out to be an outspoken supporter of russia invading my country. And with him also being an outspoken supporter of serbia's chauvinistic imperialism, I'm not quite sure Mirko would be at ease being in the same room with Fedor, if you meant them being on the same interview.

Rampage is surprisingly good as a podcaster. Unlike other guys who want to do this, he does a great job of letting the guest be the guest. He doesn't quibble with Tank about his boy Tito... just lets him talk. In the Briggs podcast, he doesn't start going back and forth... again, treating his guest (Briggs) like the guest. A lot of guys like Rampage would be talking like they the guest.

Tank is why I started watching UFC . The original legend I still own all the VHS UFC’s with him . He was my original favorite that led to chuck Liddell and then Jon Jones what a great interview glad to know he is doing alright . Back in his day for a fight fan that likes knockouts there where two men , Mike Tyson in boxing and Tank Abbott in UFC.

"Brutally honest" - the guy is a world class bullshitter who's constantly trotting out his hairbrained speculation and claiming it's fact. The Goodridge stoppage was brutal but it was also only 1, maybe 2 seconds too long at worst - so of course that proves it was a conspiracy by the UFC to teach the guy in his camp a lesson.
All his stories are revised to make him the invincible badass who was so hard done by, and he also has to tear down every guy who beat him or was more successful than him. Don Frye kicked my ass because he paid Mark Hall to take a dive (seems like it would make more sense to pay off Goodridge and avoid the 11 minute war, but whatever). Cabbage had a secret agent in my camp (how else would he know to knee the shit out of my face?). Then there's Bas and Ken Shamrock (the real legends of my era); well all their fights in Pancrase were fixed (ignore that I bowed out when I had the opportunity to actually fight Bas). Oh, and I made Tito cry and discovered in my exhaustive research that all his wrestling accolades are fake.
He talks utter shit non-stop and never has a kind word for anyone but himself. I actually liked Tank until he started doing shoot interviews and I could see what a toxic personality he is. Here's brutal honesty: he was a limited fighter whose sporting peak was giving Don Frye a bloody nose, and he never got over the hump because it was easier to pretend the world was out to get him than develop a complete skillset.

I pulled up giddy wanting an autograph and trying to talk to him. I walked in Applebees with him and they quit serving alcohol. A couple guys knew who he was and we all got into this guys car and went to a local bar. I wasn’t even 21. I’m 45 now. Tank snuck me in and he got wasted. After the bar closed we drove him back to the Hilton. He was smashed. But no one messed with him at the bar. A few people knew who he was too.

Good hearing from Tank Abbot but not gonna lie, seeing him now makes me feel old.. it’s crazy how much time has gone by since the days of Abbot, Coleman, Gracie, Frye, Severn, Etc.. I was a teenager watching them on VHS & we’d wear those tapes out watching them over & over. To see Tank old & wore out, thinking back to watching the Ultimate Fighter 1 on Spike TV to seeing what the UFC has turned into nowadays just made me realize how much time has truly gone by. What a freaking trip out..

I still remember guys coming up to me if there was an event on at the bar, or wherever, and they would start to explain to me who, and what was going on.

I bought and read all three of Tank’s books and they are fascinating and absolutely hilarious. For legal reasons Tank has to pretend it’s “fiction” but every event is exactly how it went down in real life including “Cheeto” (Tito) “Bart Shady” (Art davie) “Vinny diamond” (Ken shamrock) “Sea Lion Beach” (Seal Beach) “Sea Lion Beach Liquors” (Seal beach Liquors-which is still there today) “Happening Beach” (Huntington Beach) “Wong Beach State” (Long Beach State) and everyone and everywhere else from that time. The stories of the main character, Walter Foxx (Tank) are *exactly* the same as the stories from this show. Plus A LOT more. Details of his time in jail, how he came to find the UFC, daily drinking and driving with his pitbull companion, his dealings with Bob Meyerwitz (forgot bobs name in the book), big John being a bitch and on and on. I cannot wait for the fourth book about “Walter’s” adventures in pro wrestling. Buy the books. You help support a pioneer while having some fantastic entertainment to read on the beach or while camping this summer.
