The tune after Bonnie Lass o Fyvie is Robin Adair someone asked about it but I don't know the name of the one after it, Barren Rocks gets played to many times but it's not an easy tune to play in my opinion, nice performance.
Most of these kids come from a local civilian band as well ... Paris Port Dover... more than a hundred members🙄 they zapped the talent from many local bands over the years... causing smaller bands to fold. Gordon Black was the instructor/ bagpipe dealer for years.... might still be... he’s made quite a fortune selling cadet kids pipes over the years. Playing everything rounded at that match pace.. no expression in it. Yes it’s sour grapes.... my band folded eventually
They need to work on keeping in step....5:40 is an example-nearside 2nd to last row not in step with others in column or row. Transitions rough between march rhythms. Hate to say it but not good enough for Basic Training Drill and Ceremonies w/o a LOT more work. Piping wasn't bad.
This band is completely repetitive! All they can play (continuously) is Barren Rocks! This is a favourite among most air cadet squadrons because it's the easiest to play and they are too idle to learn more challenging tunes.
The Bagpiping Ferret ... C’mon it’s military.. it’s gonna be repetitive and Rounded with no expression.... do they play like that in Paris? Is that how Gordon Black teaches them??
Bloody great O'Rielly on the base drum....... jeezum he's a biggun'! I could listen to you guys all night, sounds great!
Great video. Thanks for posting.
Very good, no no, excellent!
my squadron played it in easters region ( drum and bugel band) and won first over all

There's a tune or two not identified, after Bonnie Lass o'Fyvie, when they circle up before the drummers' salute. Does anyone have the title(s)?
After the drum salute, the strathspey they are playing is called the Keel Row, I am not sure what the second tune is called.
Bonnie galloway - The rowan tree
Pretty good job for you youngsters lol I was a Air Cadet at one time is that beast of a base drummer playing football??

5:40 was a terrible transition from quick to slow march. The transition back to quick was fine though and the rest of the performance was really good
+Stranger Piping was good, just needed more work on the marching. They'll get it right though!.
Stranger well, going from quick to slow marching with instruments is difficult, but overall, they did very well. They got two awards.

Awww someone get knocked back from the ATC band?
That or it's because it's a massed bands and they are required to play a march in their setlist so a 2/4 would work for this situation?
