Seems like a great addition to the game. I'm quite concerned about the visual clarity of the battlefield. It does legitimately seem to be hard to see what is going on or exactly where things are, especially when there are a few of them and they are burrowed.
@@SurreyEZ I think they should put in a dark spot above ground like they do for crawlers, so you can at least see where they are. They might also be a bit difficult to balance, since unlike other big units, it is impossible to use ramp up damage on them. I could see that being a problemin terms of finding a counter, since air units wont be able to fire at them either, unless a ground unit is present.
@@shakacien I would remove the sand particle effects so the sandstorm would be more clear. And then I would add a bump in the ground that you can see very clearly that travels forward
Exploding Rhino might be useful and fun against the worms. Overall I like the design. It's an alternative to melting points or war factories. It's an aggressive giant unit where the others are more defensive in nature with the Overlord somewhere in between.
what's your first impressions of the worm? I really like it! The design is very unique. The game has a problem of big units getting meltered and the sandworm can counter act it easily
The under ground mechanic might mess with some peoples brains in how to observe how things flow during combat. Being the big daddy of crawlers should be fun but a tight formation (that all fit under a mobilize circle) of 2 melters, 2 worms, 3 storm callers and maybe 2 arcs should be nasty.
Hmmmm I like the concept, A giant rhino, but design wise I'm not sure it fits aesthetically with the rest of the lineup so far, visually it feels like it was designed by a different team.
As a first impression, I dont really like the unit. As others have mentioned it doesnt look like it belongs in this game and its animation makes it hard to see whats going on. Right now it seems very OP as well, though Im sure it will get nerfed. But yeah... Im not a fan. Easily my least favourite unit
I'd be fine with rhino if it had a better defensive tech. Hackers and melting point makes them terrible. Maybe if they got anti interference included in their power armour
@@Feibie Exactly. It has far less gimmicky techs, greater range, power armor(burrowing ignores slows/terrain effects) and partial whirlwind(massive splash) built in and can approach targets in safety.and can keeping doing damage because enemies will have to swap targets when it burrows again. It suffers a bit in immediate damage output, but rhinos barely get the opportunity to deliver their DPS anyway, while the worms do just fine.
@@jaspervaneck3258 rhino's are busted if you get the damage buff card. Absolutely busted. I've had matches where clearing chaffe led to 1 shot hits on melting points lol
Feels like if you're running replicate you need to run mech rage just so things get in faster. Sandstorm is very interesting as a more "defensive" option. Plating and Regen seems insane. I'd almost like a tweak to wasps so that if they have the anti-ground specialization they can target burrowed worms.
Honestly, I'm not feeling it. Visual mess, dodges everything, aesthetics don't feel "military" like the rest of the units. Feels like it belongs in a different game.
@@SurreyEZ Maybe, but it also seems like the worms are pretty low overall damage judging how it handled the Rhinos, even if they are popping mid sized units easily. A giant plus some shield fangs should be able to outlast the photon long enough for ignite to put in work. Ignite + aa wasps would also help against the degen beam. You're probably right though. Would probably be more effective to just punch them down with ground cannon and/or forts. If you can get a lucky early ignite with fangs, it could be a nice burst of damage. Gotta be really careful of repli-crawlers though. My big question is whether or not ignite continues while burrowed or not. Not that it matters that much since ignite only works for 2 seconds, but it might matter. I bet hackers would be handy to help the worms. The worms handle small and medium sized units really well, making the big units easy targets. Especially the Rhinos. Plus the worms aren't a huge burst that is likely to kill past the hack point. Something to consider if someone's bringing SD rhinos.
@@felixbeaudouin1899 dont rly work well, you just add 1-2 pheonix, they deal with overlords and counter wraith well, also with newer patches overlord gets stuck on small stuff real bad
Makes sense, you definitely do need chaff clear with it and the wraith can do that. I do have one question: generally with pushes you tend to put the wraith in front. Why do you do that? And how do you avoid getting farmed by AA marksman?

Me too! It was really hard to see what my worms were doing and sacco also said that he had no idea whose worms were where :D But the unit is great!

I think they could use a real big reverse shadow on the ground, like, the little bit of dust doesn't quite do it.

Exploding Rhino does indeed seem to be the "counter" based on initial impressions.

Melters and Sandworms it is then... The Law of Unintended consequences shall not be denied! :3

They might have to much health since they are a counter to melters
can you make an additional video where we can see how the worm attacks air please? would be interesting to see this tech in action
@@HolgFromHell maybe i'll make a first impressions video! the air attack is just the worm attacking normally but hitting air at melee distance
It is nice to see Rhino become more of a competitor, now that more big guys enter the ring to throw down with em.

When fighting the sandworms is like a Transformers movie, you have no idea what's actually going on 😁
30:38 "this Rhino goes to Africa" that killed me xD
The worm animations are amazing, but I really can't tell what's happening in the later rounds LUL
me neither!

Cool unit design but the graphics and animation are pretty hard on the eyes.
Now we have a giant unit with replicate. If we wanna talk about units we're missing we're still missing melee air units.
Too much dust and stuff around the worms, they need to remove that.
HOLY MOLY!
holy moly !
It feels inconsistent that they nerfed subterranean blitz on crawlers yet this thing gets to completely avoid projectiles.
It definitely shouldn’t completely avoid damage

Oh god. first impression: animation of worm brings chaos and does not fit to the rest of the game.
So with a super heavy armor they aproximate the hitpoints of a War Factory, huh?

It counters half the units and break beams every time it has to reposition. I almost say just remove it.
totally agree!

Agree on all points. It’s all over the place on its attack design and visually crushes everything.
Yeah, not really seeing it either.
i honestly hate it. i think the worm destroyed the game. you literally need to take this ugly thing to win.. directly or via hacker. looks so shit
I mean I get you can feel like it doesn't suit the game, but did the steel balls, the phoenix, and the fortress look military-like to you?
Lisan Al Gaib!
sacco and surrey
I dont like the worms, like the last fight in the first game u can see nothing...

it's invulnerable while burrowing
when it goes underground it doesn't de-aggro air units. seems like a mistake
yea it works a bit weird. Also if you beacon the worm units keep following it although its untargetable underground
Self destruct rhino and late steel balls are counters?
Maybe put shielded fangs in front
probably too healthy for rhinos
Seems like larvas are growing with kills, am I right?
i think its the same hp all the time
Why no melter game 2?
That tech for 15% hp/sec regen while underground seems pretty high with it having 50k health imo
yea. It's crazy in FFA and 2v2 at least. I would think it won't be that good in 1v1 when people know how to counter the worm but hard to say
I think blud is going to get nerfed
