300s and 250s are not pointless especially to someone like me who is 17 and and doesn't have a lot of money to spend on a bike and gas
i know the feeling not much money but i wanna ride so bad i have the experince ive raced motocross since i was 5
Colter Ciceroni no they arent, 300s are beginner bikes
the biggest thing is insurance.
Jack Stanton it's not bad at all I pay $50 a month
yeah plus some countries have to have restrictions
Test rode a 300r for myself as a first bike out of the MSF class. Had low expectations for it being slow and boring. Was completely surprised and really liked it. Still has getup and go at 70mph. Loved the cbr500r I tested also but didn't want to spend $7000 for the 500, $4300 for the 300 was much more in my price range. Great beginner bike to learn on. Get out and test ride if you're looking for a first bike.
The CBR 300 R with abs is a fantastic little bike. I have owned one! Yes I moved to a higher capacity bike, but I actually miss the cbr. It's nimble and it does just fine at highway speeds. When passing you just have to time your pass, period. You have to look at the bike for what it is and not compare it to a 600. Good riders don't judge motorcycles by just how fast they can go. As a matter of fact, having to change gears more frequently provides the rider with a lot more practice on clutch and throttle control.
Couldn’t have said it better myself
I'm surprised he mentioned the Ninja a few times as well as a couple of people I know actually liked the CBR 300R more than the Ninja.
for me, my cbr 250 did awesome on the highway
***** I took my girls on the highway, wasn't too bad...Just chill around 70mph still have a little room to go faster.
***** WELL NOT EVERYONE CAN BE AS FUCKING AWESOME AS YOU 6FOOT! For real, you're fucking awesome. :P
***** chase reviews really disappoint me. he's far too stuck in the mindset of someone who's riding a big bike all the time
Onoff314 Then he should ride a Vmax lol.
***** Mine does too. I live in Athens not too far from Atlanta and Ive been on 85 which is basically a main freeway that runs from Atlanta up to South Carolina and I pass people all the time.
For no reason at all, here comes a shit review of two tiny bikes: I've got a CBR250R and my dad has an R3.
Having driven both in twisties and the highway, there's no point comparing the power output; it's 40 HP vs. 23 HP and the R3 smokes the 250.
However, the CBR feels bigger and more stable in the highway somehow and we both agreed on that. The R3 feels more plucky and tiny which is great in the city but in the highway, not so much. Brakes on both are average at best. Way easier to lean the R3 in the bends, almost too much, it felt too light when leaned over compared with the CBR which holds some weight. Felt odd but it didn't drop me or slide out even once so it's all good. The seat is way better in the CBR, plushier, wider and more touring-esque. The R3 seat feels a bit more Supersport derived; narrower and firmer. Easier to reach the ground with your feet on the R3 though due to the thinner seat.
I understand the CBR300 is exactly the same as the 250 with an engine upgrade. If so, for a pricepoint and with reasonable expectations, I'd still recommend if even if the Ninja 300/R3 are faster machines. It's still a valid choice for many reasons.
If you made it down to here, you're amazing and thank you. :)
70 MPG, great for commuting to school and back and weekend riding
that whole " you'll grow out of the 250" is a bunch of bullcrap. who ever says that most likely only commutes. I've past 600 on turns before and im not even close to growing out of my 250. thats just an excuse to get a bike that does 60 in 3 seconds which really no one really needs in the road. imo
It's like people who say the Mazda Miata MX-5 doesn't have enough power. That car is like the CBR300R of cars. You truly don't need more power. All you need is total awareness of surroundings.
if you think you grew out a 300 in 3 weeks, go join a lightweight racing class and be ready to get lapped haha.
i need those 3 seconds
@@IsaccLightbournELPASOREALTOR me too, for when my chick is home alone
@@IsaccLightbournELPASOREALTOR but do you?
I LOVE the red and blue combo.
My last two bikes were a 600 Katana and an Air cooled GPZ 750, and this little CBR300R has a personality of her own. I have always wanted a single cylinder sport bike, and around town in a college town this bike is more than perfect. When you get on it a tiny bit it sounds like she's working hard!, and she sounds good. Handling is awesome, and this is my first bike with ABS and they are the best brakes I have ever had on a sport bike.
I still have a soft spot for entry level, low-cc bikes. After years of riding, I still have never been as excited to get out and ride as I was when I had my little Ninja 250R.
I just bought this bike in March 2016. I bought this for a commuter bike, and I have to say it is super fun taking it through the twisties. I am super happy with this bike. The only issue I have is it doesn't like 1st gear.
Everyone keeps talking about power with this bike and that is not what it is all about, that bike is for flicking thru slow ass traffic in a lane splitting situation. Amazing flickery unmatched by none.
I have to say, you are now one of the best bike reviewers around. I think that they are put together really well, and contain great info.
Most other reviews basically outline the brochure, and give only a little more info. They don't talk about the personality or quirks like you do..
the good thing about a 250 as a beginner bike is that if you pick one up used, even if you outgrow it fast you can save your money while learning for a few months and then sell the 250 for the same price you bought it for.
bro I just bought this bike 2 days ago and it's my first one! I absolutely love riding and so glad I went with this bike dude
1 year later. How's it going?
yeah how is it? im buying a 2018 next week..its my first bikee so def dont need a crazy one yet
It's got enough zip to make your arsehole pucker a little bit, but not enough to make it lose control. Fun little crotch-rocket.
"I'm not sure if I'll feel confident and/or safe on the highway with a 300." Well, how about us 18 to 20 y/o in a lot of countries where we can only ride a 125. Don't complain about a 300 when you could have worse xd
IsDitGerben He not really complaining, he's doing a review.
IsDitGerben I'm 17, riding my 125cc. It's the new CBR with wider tires, Repsol paint etc. I really enjoy it and I can get to go like 130km/h (135km/h on speedo!) out of it when sitting upright. Though sometimes the wind can be quite a pain in the ass and you have to lay down on your bike.
siikatehpwn3r bs, maybe if you're going down a huge hill
XtremeGaming123
Well I'm only 165cm and 65kg so not that hard :D
+siikatehpwn3r Hey, im looking for a cbr 125 next year and we're the same height and weight, does the bike feel too big?
Love the look of this bike. Like a little brother of the 1000cc in the looks department.
I don't understand "250 cant drive safely on the high way"?? Whats your speed limit 170kmph? No its 120kmph or 70mph. I can get that easily on my stock standard CBR250 so whats the problem?
Finally! Someone said it. I can't understand people who fail to realise that these little bikes do just fine on the freeway. Most of the time the traffic's not moving fast enough for you to do the speed limit anyway.
Yes!
I know this old but I had to Chime in. The problem isn't if they can do the speed limit, because they certainly can. The problem is if the speed limit is 65 or 70mph you have no actual power to pull away or do much evasive riding. i have a Ninja 250r and it is quite a bit faster than the cbr250, and I don't feel super safe on the freeway due to not have the power to avoid things if I needed to.
Revnge7Fold I think the problem is you have a guy that 1000cc bike reviewing a 300cc bike
For those of us who don’t live in congested city’s, we have to do 75-80mph and still be moving to slow to keep in flow with the traffic. So a bike whose average 65-70 mph would be unsafe on the freeway!
I have one of these. First bike. From what I have learned, this thing is really forgiving. And to those saying that it's not enough power, I will say that it's still way faster than my car.
I have had a cbr300 for about two months and it’s be fine for me on the halfway and around town It gets better when the gears break in and you get used to though horn and a turn signal’s positions
After 7 years.....still i am fan now ❤️❤️
When is the H2 first ride coming up!?
I think you are missing the point. It is too easy for a highly experienced rider to forget what it is like to be a beginner. It takes time for a new rider to gain real skill on a bike and those skills are more easily gained on a smaller lighter machine of modest power. Also for a young rider sticking to the less busy backroads and away from high density high speed highways is a good thing. Backroad twisties are way more fun and never boring, especially on a backroad weapon like the 300R.
28 RWHP is more than enough for an inexperienced teen.
These 300s are such underrated bikes. The fact you can get a brand new, liquid cooled, fuel injected Honda for 4,000 bucks is insane. I've rode a Honda rebel hundreds of miles at a time and I don't even think that's 20 horsepower. Some of the greatest riding I've ever done. I hate the "you'll grow out of it" mentality. Wouldn't everyone be on an h2 after a year or two? If you just keep moving up that's the only stopping point. Decent review but try to think from an every day person's view.
chase do KTM 390 Duke next please
this is my bike and I love it to pieces!!! can't wait to sit on it again I love love love it!!!!!
Out of all the motovloggers out there your videos seem like u put so much work into them not only are they entertaining but they are educational and inspiring, which in my opinion setes u worlds apart from other. Just a thank you for all your hard work and keep it up man
cbr 500r would probably be the best option for a little more.
OfficeBear IMBACKURMAD you can't compare a cbr 500r with 35kW with a fucking fz 07 lol
£1000 more than that is the 650
Ith two more cylinders.
OfficeBear IMBACKURMAD FZ-07 All day every day
Eden Gilady Depends what you want to do... 300cc CBR/Ninja is better preparation for a 600cc super sport from what I've read than a 500cc because of power delivery
If you want a bike for grunt, you wouldn't be looking at this but if you want a good highway commuter with great fuel economy, this is probably worth considering. I'm a big fan of single cylinders.
I hate reviews when a guy jumps a on 250 or 300 and talks about the power. These bikes will haul you around just fine for the average joe riding for fun. If you want to race a gixer 750 then level up to that. For fun and for fuel savings these bike are fine. I own a CBR 250 and XT 350 and neither are monsters, but for smiles per gallon they are fun for me.
Having never been on a motorcycle before as far as operating one is concerned,I can't
say I would get bored with this motorcycle. I like the sound of the bike, and I believe I'd be happy on a CBR300R. I ditched the Ninja 300 and R3 in favor of this motorcycle. I hope to have my motorcycle by end of October!
15:15 kind of 0-60mph, 0-100kmh. Looks like he's in the medium-high power range, using most of the throttle but maybe not all potential. Next run is better at 17:51.
17:51 another 0-60, 0-100 - genuine max acceleration, gets to 65mph reasonably well.
Looks like a good commuting and new rider bike. The lightweight and nimble handling improves safety too because you can change direction in a difficult situation 😀
30 years ago we had 60bhp 250cc such as Suzuki RGV250, Kawasaki KR1S, Aprilia 250. And we had 60bhp 400cc like Honda CBR400RR, Yamaha FZR400RRSP, Kawasaki ZXR400RR, etc. They were the pinnacle of Japanese bikes.
They should consider making those again for the European A2 motorcycle licence, as well as for riders who want the feels.
Thanks for the review, It's too bad you didn't enjoy riding it as much as you hoped. I really enjoy riding mine, and I bought it primarily for commuting and the great gas mileage so it's perfect for me.
I definitely agree with you on the engine breaking. At high speeds in high gears the engine breaking is nonexistent, but at low speeds in gears 1-3 the engine breaking is almost violent.
Another awesome bike review. I've always enjoyed the 250-300 bikes, even though I own a 636, that said. I want to get another 300 classed bike just for the "relaxed" ride they have. Thanks again for all the insight Chase.
love all of your intros for your "first ride" videos, and appreciate that you keep your opinions real. I know Yummyr6 must be proud every time you mount a blue bike. Ride on Chase!
Just realized you live in Marietta, GA this is the exact bike im looking to buy thanks for the video
I have 2017 CB300F i love it, first bike with enough power for me and good highway capability. Amazing for around town as well because of its light weight!
was this recorded before the R3? seems like it because you don't reference it.
OtisENGINEuity I think it was. Glad i wasn't the only who noticed that. lol
I have a friend who has an R6 I sat on it and honestly I loved how slim my 250r was.
I don’t agree with 250-300 being pointless. I have a 600 bike, but I’m often in the mood to rev to redline with a 300. When I get the space and money I want a sport bike in all 3 category. 300,600, liter. The 300 might be a ninja 400 thooo 🔥🔥
i just got my first bike honda xr650l it actually makes an excellent street bike it has a cruising speed of around 70mph depending on rider weight and it'll do around 100mph the torque from its big block v8 sized piston is alittle scary but you quickly learn throttle control and its fine. the 650l has a big comfy seat insurance costs are low. makes the nicest angry tiger noises ever. if you are worried that its to tall i'm 5"6 and can comfortably seat on her with the balls of both feet on the ground with a lowering link. its light but just heavy enough to not be blown around by wilds or passing trucks easily. to me its the perfect bike at 346lbs "wet weight" 2,8 gallon tank. it looks like a proper dirt bike but its engine will need its first valve adjustment around the time your buddies on their 450's are doing their 2 full rebuild.
Not sure why I'm watching this video. I've already watched/read about this information before getting my first bike last year haha. Awesome videos chase!
I have mixed reviews about your review. You're entertaining, but this is what I think. A new rider needs to learn how to ride "well" first (if you're "crawling", you shouldn't dream about "running" before you learn how to "walk"). I believe a bike that's not that fast can teach him/her a lot. Later the rider can trade it for a bigger bike. I believe that many people who review these smaller bikes are 600cc or more riders...so obviously you'll find fault with the power of the engine. I wish you had ridden one with ABS brakes.
Jesus.... I was just thinking of buying this motorcycle.. 30sec in to the video. I think it's a done deal. good editing to whoever shot this vid..
the ninja that you road had an aftermarket pipe and that is where the extra power comes from . I think the 650 is a better choice as any 300 will become boring as hell fast
Flying Ryan I disagree when it comes to something like the R3. I loved that little thing.
a lot of bikes are fun , but what are you going to do when you are on the highway with friends and they have 600s and the likes , you are going to want a bigger bike ,that's what happens to me when I ride my xr 650 supermoto with sports bikes ,I always wish I had rode my FZ1. there is nothing wrong with the 300s and if that is what you want( rock on) its not like its a scooter or something . I think your first bike should be something you can throw on the ground and not care like a supermoto or the likes . Love everything you are doing with your channel and new website , you guys are a big part of the community Thanks for your time and effort hope you get your bike fixed soon Ride on
DarkLordPleb straight roads , you have not watched my videos . just because some people live in the flat lands not all of us do . RIDE ON MAN
Get a KTM RC390 or an FZ-07. The Ninja 650 is less sporty than the ninja 300. More upright and more of a sport-tourer
Awesome! I'm so excited to watch this! That's my bike!
I would like to see you do a video on a CBR 600F.
He has on a 2014 one
SpiritOG Could you link me to it? I can't find it anywhere.
+EpicGamers247 Just look on Chases UA-cam page ... under " videos "
I looked but could not find a review for the CBR600F anywhere. And I guess I accidentally said CBR600R instead of CBR600F. Lol. So yeah I can find his 600RR review, but that's not the same bike.
EpicGamers247 Ah ok... CBR600F ? can't recall Chase doing review on that one. there might other videos on UA-cam for the 600F though.
horrible review...why didn't you focus on other real issues like gearbox feel, lean angle, center of gravity, brakes, reliability, etc instead of muffler size, front fork bottom design and blinkers, horn button size or engine braking...... sounds like a squids review.....
I think he's anti-Honda.
He's anti-anything not an R6. Anyone buying a bike based on his recommendations and "reviews" is a fool.
I bought a CBR300R last week and don't see myself ever getting bored with it.
GT6SuzukaTimeTrials
I rode a Ninja 300 for 9000 miles and almost 2 years before I sold it and after moving on to a ZX-6R and an 800cc adventure bike I'm very close to picking up a CBR300R soon. I'm quite confident that I won't be bored.
Frank Bama What bores me is being able to hit 60 mph in 1st gear. Takes no skill to never need to shift to get up to speed.
I love the red, white and blue CBR scheme. Great video!
I been looking at motorcycles for a few years now, but only wanted to either buy a cbr500r,CBR300r,R3, Maybe a FZ10 and or a ninja 300. I am only a teenager in my around first years of becoming a teenager but still see my future of me driving motorcycles
Chase! I live literally 10 minutes from Mountain Motor sports and I know every street you just drove. It's kinda weird and really cool to see the streets around here on a motovloggers channel. Thanks for the review man I am looking at bikes to decide what I want as a first bike. Insurance is really high on sports bikes because I am young so I may get a cruiser. Hope to meet you on the road some day brother ride safe.
Theres nothing wrong with cruisers alot pf vloggers are against them but they are very comfortable and very cheap on insurance
I have this bike. I am 45 y.o. and a new rider. It fits my body size. Good for old guys like me.
i just got the 2016 cbr300r in orange love the bike i have a 82 Kawasaki kz750 and a honda xr100 the bike is fun and handles great
Is there a reason why you were comparing it to the Ninja and didn't mention the R3?
rockafella1690 Probably just use to mentioning the Ninja over the R3 lol. I was looking for a mention too I'll admit.
very curious as well maybe he recorded the cbr first but wanted to get the r3 video out first as theres high demand for it
rockafella1690 Because what i've been noticing lately is that his videos are not in sync. He probably test rode this bike before the R3, and honestly. They look old. His lives in Atlanta like i do. But this video looks like Spring is just starting or something.
CBR300R vs R3 vs Ninja 300? Opinions on which is better?
Kawasaki z100 would be a review I would love to see. I have an fz-07 but have been eyeing this bike
Philip McIntosh ktm rc390
Philip McIntosh I love my Ninja 300... plenty of power once fully broken in for in-town riding, and can manage long trips / highway riding just fine too. I wish I could afford the Ninja 650 insurance rates... but for now, I'm definitely loving my Ninja 300. I do prefer the appearance of the exhaust on the CBR over the Ninja obviously though. But at the same time... I crashed my bike last summer, and that ugly ass shielding over the exhaust saved me $200+ (saved me from having to replace it, instead just having to buff out the scratches on the shield or replacing the shield which costs $150 from dealers). And that black on the ninja... omg... sexy!
Also, C2W isn't riding a broken in bike... hence why it feels so ridiculously gutless.
Yzf r3 is probably the best out of the three, however cbr is the most reliable.
Ariel gym BS ! yamaha is easily as reliable as that shitty honda
Should try out the cbr500r after doing the 300r
OfficeBear IMBACKURMAD Nope.avi
@OfficeBear IMBACKURMAD. I'm not bias when it comes to motorcycles. Don't be that guy going around trashing everyone's opinion on what they like. Don't need that around here :) k thanks
OfficeBear IMBACKURMAD Clearly you are not a true biker.
OfficeBear IMBACKURMAD You haven't watch the orgasm Chase had when he rode the 08' 1000RR right?
***** thanks man! woo, spread the word! ^_^
hay mate I think you will find a lot of these small street bikes being aimed at beginner rider will have very little engine braking as a safety precaution. the low engine braking means if the rider drops down a couple gears to quickly the back wheel is less likely to lock up and spit them off. I know the kawi 300 even has a slipper clutch to smooth out the down shifts even more. ps these bikes run very low compression to keep power down and longer service intervals compared to a high compression supermoto like a ktm or wr450 which heed oil changes every 15 foot :) this will also lower engine braking.
thanks if you read this short story
thanks for this video brotha. i got a good feel of this bike just by watching it
i'll be buying one. i had 600cc inline 4;s 750 cc cruisers i also had a cbr250r. i ride 16000km a year for the last 7 years.
the agility of this bike you can't buy with more powerful bikes, they loose agility and flickability with weight. i rode a 1000km day on my cbr250r at over 70mph the entire time, it was tiring yes but it was doable.
I'm looking forwad to downsizing my cb500x, i did 40000km on it an di want a cbr300r. cheers for review
I have ridden this bike from May through November. I rode over a fast mountain road and a bunch of open state routes - speeds up to 78. It should be able to go 90. I haven't brought it on the highway yet, but I will. My only complaints are the blinker is in an odd position. It's easy to push it for a right turn, but I literally have to angle my entire hand to grab it for a left turn. I have pretty long fingers, too. Additionally, it doesn't pick up speed as fast as I'd like it to.
I have a 2008 CBR 125 and TBH it looks like low speed the 125 is almost better because it's lighter, but im sure the top end can go 15-20mph faster on the 300, but If you are not planning on freeway riding there is no point in wasting your money on a 300 really, you can pick up a 125 around my area used low mileage for about 1000
Recent comparisons to the R3, Ninja 300, and RC390 say that while being down on power it's actually a very good bike to ride.
Ive wanted this bike for so lonnnnggggg thank you for doing this video!!
"Engine Braking" as you put it, is a function of the compression and displacement of an engine relative to the load. The Honda has low compression and low displacement, so little engine braking. It's not really the way to slow a motorcycle, putting all the work on the back, less effective tire, and leads to more frequent tire replacement. Also, you're putting more frequent friction on the clutch, so more frequent clutch replacement. Remind me never to buy a used bike from you.
Engine braking!? Hmmmm.... $30 brake pads vs. $1000 tranny and engine repairs. Straight squid!
Very helpful for beginners' shopping advise, very detailed& thorough test ride
Horrible advice for beginners.
thats a precious machine congrats from Argentina..although it has been a year ago
It has a more upright seating position for beginners which is an issue for taller people, you don't have that lean for the better and closer view of the dashboard.
BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTCCHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
I take my 125 on highways all the time!
I think you should be good on a 300....
The CBR250 seemed to be a better bike. my friend rode his 11k miles when he owned it, and rode from Arizona to Seattle and back on it, fully loaded. he was crazy, but he did it.
I actually like the blinkers. Easy for others to see. Like the lobster tail too. Wish it had a little more performance but...for a beginner...probably fine for a year or two...refine your riding skills, then step up to a cbf 650. Remember, this is a entry level bike with a top end of about 90 miles an hour...plenty fast enough.
This will be my first bike purchase. Getting my motorcycle permit Wednesday. Hopefully find a used one for a good deal.
I have one of these, almost 1000km in and the engine feels better I don't know why his one was that slow!
I had mine up to 150 km/h or 94m/h and I feel it had a little more perhaps 160km/h
He’s probably a big dude
I live in the uk, i own a 125cc, i can easily sit on the motorway doing 70, it redlines at 86.
If the motorway was very quite then i would be pushed to the slow lane but in majority of cases i have been able to sit in the middle lane happily.
I have a cbr300r they arent made to go fast like a 600. But perfoms better then the guy doing the review says. You can't compare it to the bigger bikes. It has a long stroke and is punchy down low. It get's up to the speed limit no problem. Top speed is between 90 - 100. It is what it is a small bike. Everyone else has given good reviews on the cbr300r. He said it had no engine breaking then he says it doe's.
Then in 2018 he loves it? I've had three 750cc bikes in the past and now as an older rider, I love my CBR300R, it does everything a bigger bike does except top speed
I live in Japan riding this and it's perfect!
But not sure if this bike fits other countries because speed limit in Japan is usually pretty low and roads are pretty narrow especially where I live which is Tokyo area.
Its my daily bike !!! Love it
OfficeBear IMBACKURMAD why are you hating on cbrs so much? You've responded to like 5 comments just on this video trashing people's opinion.
OfficeBear IMBACKURMAD its good for beginner rider like me, i don't care about the crazy power !!!
Sean W. Love your yamaha r6 mate
adit rafianto thanks man,so do I hah.
Sean W. Because he is a power mad kid when he knows most CBR's hae ample power for anyone, i.e 600's - 1000's. Just a hater who is trying to be cool.
ha-ha you should try the Honda rebel i hear those things have a lot of power!!!
I went with a 08 Ninja 250r for my first bike, had it for a few weeks now, its a lot of fun and with an aftermarket pipe (two bros) it has the balls to work on the highway. My only complaint when going 65+ on the highway, on a windy day, it can be a bit jarring. I can only imagine the lighter less powerful cbr series would do worse.
I'm debating between this or the cb300f, this will be my second bike, upgrading from a 70cc Honda Passport.
i got one recently, its pretty good. pretty fast as well. can get 111 mph out of it, accel is decent too
Would have to say thank you for your time on this review, I watched half of youtube before this one I was fixed on buying one of these or the naked. But now I'm doing research on the Yamaha R3 or MT-03. I'll be a Learner rider haven't been on a bike since my teens now in my thirtys sick of life shit getting in the way, been dreaming of riding ever since 2016 I'll be back on a bike. Great review.
2007-08 CBR600RR next please. Its the best years for that bike and was considered the bike of the decade in 2nd place after the S1000RR that says something.
I came from a Ninja 250, it was plenty fast. Throw on a two brothers exhaust, learn to shift in the power band. Learn the bike, and you are good to go. Good vlog though!
I appriciate you always seem so honest. Keep doing that. :)
I love your bike dude !!!! looks awesome !!!!
I just bought a used bike from this place last month. Saw a bike just like this too... maybe it was this one. Cool.
I think the big horn button is a Honda CBR thing. I have a CBR 500 and have definitely accidentaly honked at people when doing a turn or lane switch.
I have to agree with everything you said. I have a Cb300f, it is my first bike. I am already done with it, I want more.
I get anywhere from 65-70 mpg on a 3.14 gal tank. Great for my commute to work, but for those times I just want to go fast, it doesn't work. I will have a review on it and the new KTM 390 duke and 390 R on my new channel next month.
C2W, I already know the CBR 300 R will suck at highway speeds before watching that part simply because I have the Ninja 300 and it had the same problem too until it was fully broken in. Once fully broken in, I was able to pass ppl somewhat easily (go from 80KM/h to 165KM/h in maybe 5 seconds?). Before it was broken in, I had a hard time just reaching 120KM/h, and trying to pass from 90KM/h... couldn't do it fast / safe enough at all.
The difference between broken in and not broken in is huge with smaller bikes in my experience.
in indonesia they got CBR250RR with 2 cylinder, upside down showa fork, riding mode, 38ps of power, aluminium swingarm, and looks to kill.
It's really awesome that you take beginner bikes on the highway. This will be one of the deciding factors for purchasing a 300cc bike in my case.
***** Suggestion: For giving the viewer an idea of highway acceleration, can you line up next to an 18-wheeler's rear bumper, then open up the throttle? How fast you get past the 18-wheeler would give the viewer a great perspective on highway acceleration. However, I do not ride a motorcycle yet and have no idea what the wind resistance would be next to an 18-wheeler. Just a thought. Great Vid!
i had this for about 2 months and got bored with it made me not want to ride anymore, then i upgraded exhaust and it sounds so good i want to ride it way more
Dude, stop complaining! I use my CBR 125r to go on the highway. i can still easily reach the speed limit at 10.000 RPM(120 km/h)
He was able to do 0 to 60mph in 10 seconds, for those who want to know. He takes off at 17:50 and reaches 60 mph at 18:00.
I have the honda cbr650f and it has the same horn and turn signal position as the 300 and its annoying when you go to turn and accidentally blow the horn.
I've owned a Aprilla SR 50 for 7 years. 55mph was maximum speed and lacked power to safely travel on highways. The CBR 300r has plenty of torque to travel safe on any highway. Some people like this gentleman on the video have to justify their supersports bike somehow and this video clearly displays just that.
Hey Chase,
I dont know if you remember me, but I messaged you before, "requesting" your opinion on the R3 and this bike.
I really appreciate these First Ride vids for this bikes!
Keep up the good work ;) !
I'm driving the Honda cbr300r 2018 now.. i love it.. don't agree with bike dying out on 72mph..rather 77-80mph
@Folarin Ye Are u happy with highway speeds?
@Folarin Ye after i saw this video i had to go on highway once more.. easy 145km/h nothing to worry bout on highway
Be good to see you test the CBR500R. What your thoughts are on the best bike for new riders? Taking in to account things like price, running costs, fun, and reliability.
*****, can you make an 'Inside the Helmet' on lane positioning, for example, why you choose to go to the far right of the lane at 18:30 and more lane positioning situations such as groups and such?
