I have a 2022 Toyota Prius that I absolutely love. I can set my air conditioning on Ready Mode and the car will turn on and off intermittently to charge the battery. Only uses a half gallon of gas through the night.
@EvanBlack11 I have a 2011 and mine does too. Some is harder of a kick then others. I am a heavy sleeper so doesn't bother me. But can see where it's a problem
This is great advice, especially in regard to getting the battery. I’ll probably get the unit first and then the battery later. I’ll probably use it more at night and have it connected to a power bank. Thanks for the review!
I thought this thing would suck like most other ac solutions but it’s actually pretty amazing in the right conditions. Let’s me be stealth for longer without turning the car on and still feel like I’m in a climate controlled room. I have the one vent set up right next to my face pretty much the only way it’s powerful enough.
Good tests and info. Wanted to share one thing I noticed: ecoflow claims the figures below like 90 F ambient i think (9:05), thats amazing it went down to 91 from 103 in an hour. In high humidity i have manually pressed the farthest right button to empty the water, either 60% or 80% it is required to drain it yourself in my experience as the auto won't and the AC compressor won't turn on while it is ever so high but not self emptying. Also ecomode will cycle leaving fan on and compressor on low and high , hobotech review had it like half the full wattage on avg for AC. Good to know how this holds up in a car in hot hot days!
I live in a cargo trailer attached to my truck 24/7 and run my 5k btu window ac unit with a anker 767 power house with 400 watts of solar was considering getting the eco flow to run at night
did you setup the drain when you test under the sun? because without setting up the drain, the condense tray gets full in like 15minutes and it will stop the cooling until you drain the water, so you must use the drain pipe to let it auto drain so you dont have to drain it like every 15minutes.
ive seen them work really well with “crua” insulated tents. maybe you could put a very small 1 person tent in the car and see if it cools the insulated tent because the car is not containing the cold air. to many holes in car for air to escape. you wouldnt be able to lounge in it well but the tent would be very comfortable to sleep in cold air
Nice test! I also have one and use it in the back of my pick up. I have used it while working remotely in the back of my dark pickup in 90 degree heat too and it does take the edge off. One thing I do have to say is if you wanna run it for like 8 hours or more you need to at least have like 3 100ah batteries in parallel. Yes the shade is ideal.
These units have drain issues which cause them to stop working and stop air conditioning it’s a well known issue online that is never disclosed in any review video. They also rust within days of running.
Good tests to see what this can and cannot do . Can do without the music though . Really gets annoying to me personally . The price though is way too much . I can see myself using this while camping as i sleep better with a cool breeze . You did get the temp down low enough by far . I would have it set for 70f at night for sleeping . It can work outside in the sun to keep the edge off . Just would need (outside) window covers to keep the suns rays from creating a greenhouse effect inside the car . But best as you mentioned to park the vehicle in the shade . Overall really liked the video and the tests run
Getting insulated window covers would help out drastically. The radiating heat from the sun already adds and extra 10 - 20 degrees of heat inside the car.
do more videos like living in my car for 4 years. your good at storytelling and it obviously works and you can get a lots of views and make money from this
Just ordered one a couple days ago and I only need it for cooling in the nighttime. It gets really cold here in Indiana for the winter so I'm hoping the heating function works decently.
Can this Wave 2 be used without the battery or does it have to have the battery in order to run like it? Can it be hooked up to your car cigarette lighter or power bank without its battery in order to operate?
@@RavRovingthis is awesome, thank you so much! I just found your channel a couple of weeks ago. I'm about to be living in my car and it's a lot less scary since I found your channel. You are so basic like what I'm going to have. Thank you for your help and making me feel at ease like I can do this
What's a mini split? Is that a regular home unit you could use in a vehicle if you had enough power? Thanks for the review. I think the results you got were awesome.
5100 btu must not be accurate in my opinion. Maybe theyre rated like the portable ac's used to be (way off and now they have a new rating system). I would have liked to know the power consumption unless I missed it.
YES, It will not cool down like they say. In Arizona Hot here, this unit does not work! will shut down code #35, will work will with my Window AC in the back window of the van. Not impress with customer service. Just another note Blue Eddie warranty Isn't that worth anything.
I just bought the wave 2 got it in on Sat and out of the box not cooling and ecoflow there not so much customer service is unbelievable bad. They also have a "F" rating from the BBB. I would be worry about buy from them!
@@egocheckerlike all products on the market, they are not 100% perfect, you gonna have some good and bad. In my case, it was not EF product failure but they were there to make it right.
@Outdoor-Adventures well I glad you had a great experience! Mine is that they suck take days/weeks to reply back to an emails. They have a "F" rating with the BBB that's says a lot
Absolutely horrible results. That being said it was in full sun and no insulation. I don't care how efficient the unit is, if it cannot drop the daytime temps to a more comfortable level I consider it waste of space inside my rig and detriment to my wallet.

Cannot wait to buy our hybrid vehicle . Saving for a Toyota Sienna . Though i like tent camping so find this Ecoflow Wave interesting for tent use .
I have a 05 and I do the same. But idk about the new Prius but my when the engine kicks on the car shakes for a second which can be hard when sleeping

Good video. They could work on their window cover design.
I agree. Not really worth 40 bucks
Wouldn't it be better if you only used the exhaust tube so it recirculates the intake air and it's easier to recool like a car does?
I think you're right. I was just using it how the company intended
Possibly having one of the windows opened slightly for fresh air intake
Can this heat up an entire car without running it?
